As the companions descended the hill and set off ( I assume West to the closer tent rather than north to the wheeling shapes but please correct me if not ) they passed the partially devoured bodies of two deer in the long grass at the base of the hill.....
"A tent you say?" Brocc asks, glancing in the indicated direction. He shrugs. "Guess if it is that close we should probably check it out before going further north." He would turn his spider mount and head in the direction the tent was indicated to be in.
The companions follow the ridgeline west for several hours, about an hour into the journey the flying shapes to the north seem to have disappeared from sight.
Eventually they come to the hill with the tent upon it, approaching it they are hailed by two guards in intricately detailed bronze and steel breastplates and helmets wielding glaives.
" Halt in the name of Baron Sukumvit Charavask!"
Anyone who succeeds on a History check of DC 13:
You know that Sukumvit Charavask is the Baron of Fang and ruler of the province of Chiang Mai, many days journey north on the River Kok. Sukumvit is famed for his Trial of Champions held in the specially constructed Deathtrap Dungeon, beneath the city.
"Well met." Brocc says, bringing his spider-mount to a stop. "We saw the tent from a distance, so meerly wished to check to see who was out in these lands, besides us and the hillfolk that is."
Zeltheris gives them an elaborate bow, "My apologies for my ignorance, but I'm afraid I don't recognize your colors. May I inquire as to your names? I am Zeltheris, here to compose the thrilling epic tale of the heroes with which I now travel!"
"You not know something?" Brocc asks the bard with a amused grunt. "Sukumvit Charavask is the Baron of Fang and ruler of the province of Chiang Mai, many days journey north on the River Kok. Sukumvit is famed for his Trial of Champions held in the specially constructed Dungeon, beneath the city."

The two guards looked slightly offended that their masters name was not known by these ruffians, but smiled as Brocc spoke.
" Indeed, we are travelling with one of the administrators of the Trial, and a number of hunters."
" The most Resplendent and Blessed Baron will be conducting a new Trial of Champions next year and he needs new beasts to stock the dungeons."
" That is the purpose of our visit to this wretched wilderness."
"Well I have heard of a wyvern that is causing trouble around here." Brocc offers. "We tangled with it once, but it escaped. Maybe you can catch it for your master."

" A wyvern? Excellent....I'll advise the hunters. If you come across any news of other beasts we'll be in the region for a week or so."

"better than staying here all day"
He starts heading that way
As the companions descended the hill and set off ( I assume West to the closer tent rather than north to the wheeling shapes but please correct me if not ) they passed the partially devoured bodies of two deer in the long grass at the base of the hill.....
Brocc frowns at the sight of the deer bodies. "Good thing we had the tiny hut last night." He remarks, but continues onward.
"Aye. Rather not have to worry in the dark about...whatever ate those deer."
At Banzos question the group halts and considers things:-
- One of their number has spotted a colourful tent off to the west.
- The same person also spotted shapes in the sky to the north further away.
- Both Healer and Barbarins are to be found to the north.
(how far to the west - if it is only a day I'd check it out, but otherwise vote keep going north)
OOC: A few hours, its fairly close.
(if only a few hours, then I'd vote to check it out)
"A tent you say?" Brocc asks, glancing in the indicated direction. He shrugs. "Guess if it is that close we should probably check it out before going further north." He would turn his spider mount and head in the direction the tent was indicated to be in.
Zeltheris follows along cheerfully towards where he'd seen the tent.

Herman is interested but plays aloof
A trial?! Maybe we can ask him about it...I wonder what is doing here in the middle of nowhere. Maybe he has likes the wilderness as well?!
Zeltheris shrugs with a smile, "I know many tales, but current events sometimes slip past me."
The two guards looked slightly offended that their masters name was not known by these ruffians, but smiled as Brocc spoke.
