Garet unnerved by the sound of stone on stone his thoughts flooding back to the demon. Goes to the stone doors and tries to open them after all they may be on some sort of rails that meant opening them would be easy.
As Garet pushed on the doors they swung open smoothly and silently revealing a long rectangular corridor decorated with rectangular carvings and with metal doors set at equal intervals on both sides.
Just within the door was a huge stone bar almost the length of three people, it hovered an little off the floor..........
Whilst Banzo is busy looking at the bar Garet turns his attention to the runes carved into the corridor if they were Dwarvish perhaps he could translate.
Does the bar appear to have any brackets it might fit in, on the door maybe? Brocc looks around, starting the process of recasting detect magic as a ritual as he moves around the new area.
Banzo first looks before touching the huge stone bar as part of his Investigation.
Investigation: 17
His looking involves trying to determine if there is a significant pattern or any runes on the stone bar, and his touching is to use a different sense to examine the stone bar.
"What do you guys make of this?"
Banzo is momentarily puzzled by the bar but then glances at the rear of the doors and sees two stone hooked ledges on this side of them, its likely the bar slots into place to secure the doors.....but it would not have helped against a being that can pass through stone as easily as air...
It is definitely enchanted to be light enough for a single dwarf to put it in place.
Whilst Banzo is busy looking at the bar Garet turns his attention to the runes carved into the corridor if they were Dwarvish perhaps he could translate.
The patterns on the walls appear to be decorative only but he does note dwarven script on the doors.
The one to the right says Geology and the one to the left says Botany.

Brocc notes the same things as Banzo, other than the bar there appears to be nothing else magical within the corridor, indeed it is completely dark lacking even the small light crystals found elsewhere in the complex.
"So the writing above the doors says Geology and Botany. I believe that we are greater need of Geology knowledge against our rocky friend." Garet says making his way towards the Geology door lighting his hand lamp as he does so.

The door swings open easily and silently as Garet enters, the room within is a massive square chamber some 50m wide. The centre of the room has four work benches with various small rockworking tools on each and the walls are covered in hundreds of small shelves. At the rear of the room are a number of installations for crushing, pulverising and polishing samples and several other machines of somewhat harder to determine purposes. A small library of scrolls is stacked within a cabinet at the centre of the room.
Banzo will head toward the cabinet that is chock full of scrolls. He will try to examine some of the scrolls to see if there is a common connection through a shared topic.
Investigation: 21
"There could be something of interest in here."
The scrolls appear to descriptive lists of various minerals grouped by types and uses or properties. There is a series of letters and numbers that seem to relate to the many square shelves arrayed about the room.
Example:
Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate. The Mohs scale of mineral hardness, based on scratch hardness comparison, defines value 3 as "calcite". Other polymorphs of calcium carbonate are the minerals aragonite and vaterite.
Formula: CaCO₃
Color: Typically colorless or white - may have shades of various colors
Luster: Vitreous to pearly on cleavage surfaces
Streak: White
Fracture: Conchoidal
Refractive index: n = 1.640–1.660; n = 1.486
Crystal system: Trigonal
Diagnostic Properties: Rhombohedral cleavage, powdered form effervesces weakly in dilute HCl, curved crystal faces and frequent twinning
Calcite is number 3 on the Mohs hardness scale; thus, it can be scratched readily by a knife blade or geologic pick. It has a specific gravity of 2.71.Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate (CaCO).
"Nothing there is magical." Brocc says, glancing to the scrolls. "Only things I detect as magical are a couple of the strange constructs, as well as those shelves there." He points to the shelves that detect as magical. He shrugs. "Seems like what the sign said, some sort of mineral workshop."
"I'm not sure there is anything of use here." Garet sighs remembering the futility of their last battle with the demon, he hated the feeling of being hunted of being prey.
"Perhaps we should try the other door, although I'm not sure how plants wil help us in our struggle."
Banzo will abandon the scrolls and go over to the shelves that detected as magical. He will begin reading through a random book from that shelf.
Investigation: 16
"Be careful around those constructs. Anything could activate them and who knows what they do."
Going over to the shelves Banzo doesn't find any books there, rather each square recess is labelled with an alpha-numeric code and contains various mineral, rock and crystal fragments. He chooses a random shelf that detected as magical and finds that there is a lead cannister on the shelf with a sturdy latch. Rattling it, it seems to contain a number of stones.
Banzo will open the lead cannister to see what is inside.
"What have we here?"
The lumps of rock within are a velvety black to pale green colour and seem to be composed of globular clusters and blocky crystals. To Broccs sight they seem to give off a very slight magical aura. They are warm to the touch.
Brocc will continue to look over the other shelves, trying to collect anything that is actually magical. He wants to collect it all prior to starting to identify any of it.
Brocc will continue to look over the other shelves, trying to collect anything that is actually magical. He wants to collect it all prior to starting to identify any of it.
Brocc goes to all the shelves showing as magical.
- One contains a mineral that he recognises as Truestone, the same mineral they retrieved for the cyclops.
- Another is sealed in a similar lead container. The rocks within have a greenish tinge and are slightly warm to the touch.
- Another he recognises as Adamant which when smelted with silver and electrum can produce Adamantine in the hands of a skilled smith. ( about 5000 gp worth).
- Another he recognises as Mithril. ( about 2'500 gp worth)
- Within another he finds a yellow diamond that glows with power, its surface has a chalky feel. Also within this drawer are 4000 gp worth of ordinary diamonds, half are cut the rest are uncut.

Garet stands ready waiting on the investigations of his colleagues always wary for the presence of the Demon.
The scrolls appear to descriptive lists of various minerals grouped by types and uses or properties. There is a series of letters and numbers that seem to relate to the many square shelves arrayed about the room.
Example:
Two of the more esoteric machines and a few of the sample shelves shimmer ever so slightly to Broccs gaze.
There is utter silence throughout the complex.

Herman, at loss with all these studies he consider weird, stays at the entrance on guard
Brocc helps with checking the magical shelf, using his still-active detect magic to zero in on what exactly is detecting as magical.

Zeltheris begins methodically combing through the examples of rocks, hoping to find something that resembles the rock creature.
