Enwynn returns the dwarf courier's salute respectfully, and accepts the scroll case with a grateful reply of "My thanks, Corporal Deepdelve, and my apologies for not being at the given address at the time of your arrival to greet you in the proper manner." She adds with a gentle smile "I am glad to see you made it here safely."
The apologetic glance she gives Mistress Girior implies an understanding that a guard's life is not always a peaceful one, and that while dwarves are a notably direct people when it comes to getting the point across, dwarven messengers are doubly so.
The elf opens and scans the message briefly, then reads it aloud for the benefit of the assembled sages and heroes:
"To the retriever of lost treasures and associates,
Your news of the discovery of a lost Dwarven stronghold has been most appeciated. We are eager to send our own expeditionary force to secure the location and would appreciate guidance to its locality.
A detailed report would be appreciated and we hope to meet with your company in Stonebridge at your convenience.
Yours sincerely,
King Gillibran Ironhelm III of Stonebridge."
Enwynn smiles as she says "Our aid in a second expedition is requested, as well as a more detailed report on what has already been found there."then falls respectfully silent to listen to what others have to suggest on the matter.
She nods in agreement with Banzo, then opines "There are many sages to be found among his people, and some fine historians among them."
Her response to Garet's point is again in agreement as she says "King Gillibran is, in my experience, a ruler who thinks outside the borders of his own lands, not in an acquisitive way, but as a good neighbour would." She smiles cheerfully as she adds "And is thoughtfully generous to those who aid his people, regardless of their origin."
Enwynn looks to Herman and replies "That is wise, but might I suggest that you spend a little time in communion with whomever of the gods you hold highest before morning?" then shrugs as she explains "I intend no disrespect to you or them by that, only that it might help you and them to know of it."
The companions left the city of Chalice once again by the north gate, but instead of tending eastward they headed northwest through the farmlands crossing the northern most part of the Windward Plains headed towards Darkwood Forest and Stonebridge beyond it.
This far north the plains were not swept by the galeforce winds common south of the Silver River and they made good time as they left the fields surrounding Chalice behind and walked through the scrub and grassland, the sun warm but not as baking as it would be a little late in the year.
As time begins to tend towards mid-afternoon Ennwyns corvid companion croaks a warning, looking up you can see a dozen or so shapes circling the group high above....
Banzo will point out the possible flying threats to everyone.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Garet wraps his hand around the hilt of his weapon and detaching it from his belt, finding it strange but welcome that he could no longer hear the Barons words in his mind.
He remembered what he needed to do and concentrated to will the blade into existence, at once the blade of pure sunlight came into being and Garet kept one eye on the creatures circling above.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the companions watched the figures high in the sky suddenly drew much closer as they plummeted downwards to attack, leathery wings attached to muscular downy bodies, heavy looking heads on long necks with colourful crests and a long toothed beak with a razor-hooked tip.
( Roll Initiative.)
( There appear to be approximately 14-16 Razor-Wings. Those who are local know that these leathery flyers, along with many other strange creatures, first appeared when a warp gate was operated during the Celanesian War....they have adapted well to Allansia and form large colonies using thermals to hunt herds on the plains...they have no hesitation attacking humanoids.)

"Foes. We are hunted." Enwynn says calmly in reply to Zeltheris, then draws her new blade for the first time in earnest, reckoning by Corwyn's caution in staying close that trouble will come to them soon enough.
(Is there anything around... large rocks, trees, boulders etc. that can provide any sort of cover?)
If so Banzo will try to move behind it to gain half cover, three-quarters cover, or full cover.

Herman nods "goes without saying "
The companions said their goodbyes to the wizards; one famous, one semi-famous and one very much not famous.
Heading back to the Lion Inn they collected their belongings and consulted their maps to plan their route out of Chalice and beyond...
The companions left the city of Chalice once again by the north gate, but instead of tending eastward they headed northwest through the farmlands crossing the northern most part of the Windward Plains headed towards Darkwood Forest and Stonebridge beyond it.

"Everyone get ready! Visitors from above!"
Banzo will point out the possible flying threats to everyone.
Zeltheris readies his new wand and starts idly tapping it on his equally new drum, "But are they friends or foes?"
(We're still level 4 right? Or did we level up with the stuff from town?)
( Still 4 at the moment. Going up soon.)

( Razor-Wings are currently 50' above and will be in melee on their turn....they dive fast.)
Ooc are they like little pterodactyl, aren't they?
Are they considered animals, beasts, fiends, what?
Zeltheris aims his wand at the lead creature and sends three quick darts of energy at him before trying to back away towards any tree cover nearby.
Magic Missile: 10
Banzo will cast Mirror Image on himself.

If so Banzo will try to move behind it to gain half cover, three-quarters cover, or full cover.
Beasts. yeah, basically condor sized pterosaurs who've swapped fish for red meat.
Nothing but hip high grass and dust.
