@garnet - They are small, lean and wiry reptilian creatures with dragon-like heads; claws on their feet and hands (which are humanoid). From what you can gather, and taken together with your previous knowledge, they are about 2-4 feet tall and can't weigh much more than 30-40 kilograms. Their eyes seem attuned and used to darkness, so you assume that sunlight would be disadvantageous to them. On Meepo specifically, you note his numerous scars (from claws) and markings on his skin as indicative of some sort of special role within the tribe. He seems proud but whatever has happened has cowed him a bit, but not enough to lose face in front of you. Normally kobolds act very cowardly but not this one. You recognize that the kobolds are deferent towards power and so even the small interaction you saw between Meepo and the others was significant. It shows Meepo has some sort of status different from them.
@lorell - Meepo takes all you have to offer (please take them away from your inventory). "Elf? Elf come with humans, don't know where it went. But bad dark naturey human, he love deep below - we don't go there," Meepo shivers at the thought. "Goblins in their place, through some doors - there's even shortcut! But I not show you til you see Queen."
@ithelion - Meepo knows common (broken common) and assumes you don't know kobold, so he talks that way to you. "Yes, him have crown, he was 'portant elder. Maybe I go back to kill one day." He takes the items and puts them on a bench near his bedroll.
@daemyar - (yes, adathar's dream - may want to look...) at your voice and you moving forward threateningly, Meepo backs up and issues a series of yips. His spear at the ready. "Meepo not want to fight but Meepo protect clan! Maybe you with boss goblins? Maybe you all lie to Meepo? Maybe you want to hurt kobolds?" Meepo is not your average kobold and is on edge now, as 5 kobolds rush into the room with a variety of weapons...they yip at Meepo questioningly - they seem to be waiting for the next move....
At Meepo's comment Ithelion says, "We already avenged your brother Seedo. Those who killed him are dead -- so no more killing is needed -- and we would not come all this way to kill you, we came for your help..."
She glances at Daemyar, then back to Meepo, "I know nothing of Shamur and Noxxa, but they are not my friends. Who are they? Perhaps we can help."
“Shamur and Noxxa are traitors, cowards at the gate. You will find I’m no coward, lizard.” Daemyar has a dagger in each hand now, but Ithelion’s intercession he’ll back away.
“Shamur and Noxxa are traitors, cowards at the gate. You will find I’m no coward, lizard.” Daemyar has a dagger in each hand now, but Ithelion’s intercession he’ll back away.
Meepo spits at the mention of them. "They comes become big boss goblins. Very bad, very very bad. And mean." He looks at the others and waves them off again and they disappear into distant rooms. "Meepo sorry. I angry. And sad. Maybe I help you? Maybe you help me?"
You are in the next room now, where Meepo is. Crudely executed symbols and glyphs, scribed in bright green dye, decorate this large and irregularly shaped crumbling chamber. A large pit in the center shows evidence of a recent fire. A metallic cage in the middle of the southern wall contains a gaping hole and stands empty. A small wooden bench draped with green cloth is next to the cage, and several small objects rest on it. A bedroll lies near the wooden bench. The room at the top of the map seems like a guardroom, and there are a couple of kobolds (that you see) that peek out at you. Most cower and hide when you look at them. To the west, it looks like there used to be a door but no longer; the room continues for some length in that direction and it seems like it opens up after a while. To the northeast, there is a door with a lock around it and a few signs written in draconic - "danger, keep out, smelly goblins beyond" kind of stuff.
Daemyar examines what’s on the bench as he moves towards the Western room to see what’s over there
The bench looks like it serves as a tiny altar. On it are: a bottle of green dye, a paintbrush made of goblin hair bristles, and 4 tiny jade dragon figurines. At the western doorway, a long hall straight ahead and another hallway to your right. Looks like some more rooms and at the end of the hallway on the right, you notice a pair of pillars - it looks like another larger room but you’re not sure from here.
Ithelion sighs in relief, "We will help if we can, but can you tell us where we might find the missing humans, the elf...and the druid you mentioned?"
Meepo answers your questions while keeping an eye on Daemyar....
”Humans went into the deep, towards goblin area. They trying to find bad guy in deep deep dark place under in the dark. Bulik?Bebak? Name I can’t know but they tried to find him. Meepo not know where are but long time maybe moon since I see em. Before stinking goblins take our dragon!! Maybe you help find it? I can take you to queen - she Yusdrayal.”
Garnet walks carefully threw the room observing thier ( living conditions?),these kobolds are small ,thier stature reminding her of her time in the underdark. She is particularly interested in the jade figures.
History: 20
While looking around she is idle listening to Meepo, via Ithelion's translations, as best as she can.
At the mention of a dragon Grant comes to more serious attention. Walking to stand next to Ithelion and addressing the small creature.

"There is a living dragon in this place?"
Jade is fairly exotic, caused by extreme pressure and heat. It is commonly used it in rituals, ceremonial situations, and ornamentation. It is unlikely that it was brought into this place but more likely it was here already and then found. Based on what you know and where you’ve been, it’s likely these originated in a land Far East of here, in Kara-Tur. You recall a myth told to you by your deep gnome mentor about a celestial being that sent 9 dragon beings into the world to uphold ways of being. There are some etchings on the base of each statuette but you don’t know what they mean. You know it can fetch a pretty penny at market - these figurines are probably around 15-20gp each.
Meepo sighs. "Yes! You fall on head too er somethin'? Dragon living to be dragon, Meepo not fake, dead Keeper of Dragon - I am live too. That her place," He points to the cage in the southern part of the room. "But goblins take her! They always so mean and hurt Meepo clan." Meepos gins evilly - "I hope Calcryx - that her name - bite and eat some goblins on the way!" He points to his own scars - deep furrows, small bite marks, his half-clipped ears, a couple lost fingers - and says, "She think she don't like me but me is Keeper of Dragon! Only...they take her so maybe me not such good keeper..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Krom just shrugs following behind everyone, having a hard time following the conversations of common and draconic. His eye light up a bit spotting the jade figurines and saunters over to inspect the craftsmanship.

They are well crafted but certainly not the best fine stone work you’ve seen. You know essentially what garnet knows above and you also see the etchings but what they mean you don’t know. You’ve seen jade inlaid on some weapons during your time but these of course were not made for that purpose.
Ithelion glances around the room, then focuses on Meepo after he has answered Garnet's question, "And how is this all connected to Ashardalon?" she asks.

Meepo crunches his face in confusion (genuine), "Huh? Who dis Ashardillon? It your friend?"
"The name is on the wall...back there" she waves in the general direction they came from, then turns and points at the blood-stained note,, "...and Seedo's last words were 'Ashardalon, Meepo, the red fruit...', he kept repeating them. I thought it would mean something to you."
Daemyar looks at the little creeps and does his best to take his cue from them, despite an inherent desire to just kill them and be done with it.
(I recognize those names, yes?)
Daemyar takes a step towards Meepo before catching himself: “Tell me where you saw these goblins and cease your incessant whining.”
