Ithelion accepts the items with bow to the queen. She smiles, her mood lightening somewhat, genuinely surprised that the queen was so quick to fulfill her promise. She had expected complaint and denial. As she places the items in her bag, she gives each the reverence such gifts should be given. "We nearly lost our one of our number, and could all have fallen but for his brave actions -- the the support from Erky here, and -- notably -- some of the goblins who want a return to the way things were."
She takes a deep breath and glances around the hall, speaking loudly and clearly in Draconc and then in Common, for all in the hall to hear. "I shall speak of your honour and wisdom to any who ask. Queen Yusdrayal is indeed a noble leader of her people. Your offer of a place to rest again is as welcome as it is generous". Then, lowering her voice so that only those nearby might hear, speaks in Common. "We would speak of the future, Majesty, and the possibility of peace between your people and the goblins. It is true that the two hobgoblins are gone, and we have returned the dragon. But it was only with the help of the prisoner that you so wisely freed that we were able to so quickly dispatch them and avoid further bloodshed. MostSeveral of their warriors remain, and but I think they might be persuaded to see a better way forward."
Ithelion nods, her tones still hushed. She glances at Shere hoping for a little support, before responding "Naturally, we would not propose such things to their leaders without first consulting you."
She shrugs, clearly indicating uncertainty about the future, "As to the helpful prisoner -- we sent her to seek aid among her people. She may be dead, she may yet betray us, or be betrayed by her own people, but I think she is an ally of Grenl and an enemy of Durnn. If she is to be believed, then the death of Shamir and the other hobgoblin -- I forget his name -- may turn the goblins away from the path that has seen both of your peoples so sorely tested. At times like this, it takes wisdom, strength and foresight -- all qualities that you have shown -- to reach out for peace, rather than to extend a destructive war."
Aware of her own lack of tact, she glances again at Shere, and then her other companions for any insights they may offer, her gaze passing over the charismatic troubadour a second time before returning to the queen.
Garnet listens to Ithelion's speech it is thought out and hopefully covinceing. She thinks on the other kobolds they have met up to this point. Watching the queen move and speak she is feeling increasingly suspicious. The queen seems off in this setting of primitive koblods. Pushing her suspicion aside Garnet steps forward next to Ithelion. "We understand that we know nothing of your relationship with the goblin people. Or what "how things where" really means." She pauses a moment hoping to express herself correctly. "We simply ask you to consider the possibility of peace, of having another ally in the dark rather then more enemies."
Shere says to the queen in his usual calm voice low enough for her to hear "Your highness" he bows "If you make peace with the goblins, you could look at it as a boon. You would have a buffer against any enemies that may trry and attack you. Giving you time to plan. Letting yourr people strong and ready"
his tail swerves to and thro on the floor behind him then it wraps around him when he thinks of it may get stepped on
Yusdrayal nods at Ithelion, Garnet, and Shere - albeit with clenched teeth. She looks at Krom and Daemyar. "And you?" she begins, taking in Daemyar's blood-soaked body, "Do both of you also suggest peace between my people and the goblins?" To Krom, she says, "I've always been told the dwarves see goblins as nothing more than mosquitos, pests to be slapped to death. And you,"nodding to Daemyar, "Does a hobgoblin truly believe in the power of these goblins to keep their word of peace?"
As she waits for your reply, she adds, "If you all truly agree that peace can be had, I may accept this. Even after the theft of our dragon, the many deaths of my people and others, though it would not be easy for us. Otherwise..."
Ithelion's eyebrows rise a little, and a faint smile appears. Smart one, this queen. She glances at Daemyar and Krom, clearly curious about their response. She says, almost to herself, "History teaches that peace is just that breathing space between wars; the duration is determined by the waxing and waning of power of each party. Will it last? Not a chance. Will it give you all a chance to recover from the depredations of recent times? Yes. And we won't know if peace can be had at al unless we return to the goblins with some kind of offer."

Yusdrayal considers Ithelion's words and scoffs. "I'm sure YOUR history teaches you this. OUR history is one of service and slavery, cannon fodder for the likes of your people. Your histories don't include US or what we've had to become. But I don't suppose you'd know anything about that, elf." She awaits Krom and Daemyar's words.
Ithelion frowns slightly. Our history barely makes mention of kobolds. Or goblins. Usually serving the enemy. Not even a single alliance I can recall. Odd. Touchy subject! She bows her head slightly, "Well...I'm glad we have been able to redress the balance slightly, and be canon fodder for you, for a change..." she looks pointedly at Daemyar, her own burns and the wounds of her companions, "...but I would like to learn your history..." she adds, before crossing her arms, and waiting for the responses from her remaining companions.
Krom tugs at his beard, now just noticing it shorter in some spots and grumbles to himself, "That dragon needs a smitin' fer this." He shakes his head when addressed by the kobold leader and clears his throat before speaking. "Aye, tis true that we Dwarves see goblins as no more than mere pests to be removed from this plane. Tis also true that Dwarves saw the Elves in much the same light in the past, but now were at a point where we can tolerate the other's company at least. I ain't sayin' peace isn't impossible, but it ain't gonna be easy neither. Peace only works if all parties agree to the terms and work hard to keep up the peace."

Seeing Daemyar's transparent lie, Ithelion laughs, "I appreciate the support, Daemyar. But it's probably best to tell Her Majesty what you actually believe."

Yusdrayal stares hard at Krom and Daemyar before adding, "I appreciate your honesty. Without knowing what Durnn or Grenl believes, it would be foolish for us to not press the advantage. Go. Rest if you wish. But this is our home. Maybe there are options to lessen the bloodshed. Maybe not."
Unless you have further questions, Yusdrayal seems to be finished with you for now. You are free to rest back in Kobold enclave where you were before.
Ithelion bows slightly and then nods, "We are all worn and weary from our travels. A long rest would be most appreciated. Thank you, Majesty. We will stand ready to help, should the goblins decide to counter-attack."
Ithelion nods, "If I can calm my mind for a few hours..." she pauses and glances around at the room then shrugs before continuing, "...then I should be able to watch while everyone else rests."
(( Suggest: IKSG rest 1h (D watch 1h), then IDSG (K watch 1h), then IDKG (S watch 1h), then IDKS (G watch 1h). (Ithelion now fully rested, everyone else is rested for three), then everyone except Ithelion rest for 5 hours: total 9h ))
Ithelion will rest the with Whistle and the items from the Queen to determine their powers.

"And do tell me, where is this helpful former prisoner now? And what did Durnn and Grenl have to say about this, 'return to the way things were'?"

“I believe that a strong queen of Kobolds can keep the peace with goblins lead by such weaklings.”
