The fire snake has surprised Daemyar and garnet FYI. I’ll add more in a little while.
The fire snake leaps out of the hole at this brazen affront to it's home and treasure! It whips it's sharp and flaming tail at the hobgoblin in fury, it's hiss sounding like a screaming teapot! Attack:10Damage:3 plus 2 fire damage on a hit! Lunging forward, it uses its first attack as a prelude to a bite attack, glowing white fangs try to find an opening on Daemyar's bottom half! Attack:21Damage:2 plus 5 fire damage on a hit!
Daemyar collects himself quickly after yelling out in surprise. Immediately after the two attacks, he stabs forward viciously at the creature - a hit! His dagger scores a small hit, the scales deflecting the brunt of the attack! The creature seems to absorb most of the damage, and the fire from his wicked dagger doesn't seem to phase it! (also, no sneak attack opportunity here, unless I am missing something).
Shere, Garnet, and Ithelion - you're up! Whatever order you determine.
Here's a map to help - no coordinates so just assume standard NESW orientation. 1 square = 5 feet. Note your sightlines, etc...

The fire snake takes a huge bunch of hits from Shere, it is nearly dead. As Garnet moves forward and cleaves it in two, the snake is able to exact some measure of revenge as it spreads fire onto Garnet, who is in melee range, as it's life burns out - the fire snake is dead. Garnet takes 2 fire damage.
Garnet wipes a singular bead of sweat off of her forehead and smiles, claps Daemyar on the back. "Yes you did. Every now and again I am amazed at the talents of my allies. Let's see what goodies are in this hole." Garnet peers in, but does not put her hand in.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Ithelion, come in here, you may wish to pull these out with your magical "floating hand", I will hold my sword ready." Garnet calls out to the others to return to the room. Garnet holds her long sword up in a readied action to hack any additional fire snakes that appear.
After pausing a second, Garnet sheathes her long sword and slings her shield over her back, pulls out the glaive that she took from the bugbear and backs up to 10 feet from the hole, holds it at the ready, readied action to chop any fire snakes with the big weapon if they appear.

Ithelion nods, and moves into the room. Standing back near Garnet with Elosa on her shoulder, she peers into the hole. If she sees nothing alarming, she sends Elosa back to the previous room with Krom, and summons a spectral had, sending it down the hole, feeling for anything that might be movable.
Ithelion you can’t feel with mage hand but if you want to start grabbing at things in the home you can do that. You see stones in the hole but without reaching in you might not get many with the mage hand alone. You’re not sure how far the hole goes but it doesn’t look inhabited anymore. Shere, nothing comes to mind. Based on her knowledge, Garnet could tell you it’s an elemental creature. As it is now, chopped in two and lifeless, maybe you could cook it up to eat?
Daemyar nods. “I will risk it.” And he grabs the stuff in the hole
Daemyar holds the flame up to the hole and grins - a multitude of reflections shine back out at you.
You pull handfuls of items to your body and dump them on the floor:
- there are a mix of gems like lapis lazuli, turquoise, and malachite (10 in total) - 3 moonstones and 2 bloodstones - 2 amythysts and 2 pearls - 1 topaz
It seems the fire snake liked the shiny things it found.

Garnet walks over to the hole and starts to look inside, to see what is the fuss, what Daemyar stirred up. "Did you find something?"
