Okay, Daemyar, with the configuration looking like Ithelion drew up, you open the door and the twig blights see you or turn towards the open door.  I'll say you have surprised them.  Make your shot/action!

Daemyar fires his heavy crossbow at the nearest twig blight

Okay...and now you are withdrawing back up the hallway?  Or fighting?  Staying put?

Withdrawing

Shere fires his crossbow and withdraws Attack: 14 Damage: 11

If the creature that Shere shot does not fall, then Ithelion shoots also, asking Elosa to help, and then return. They both also withdraw up the corridor.

Bow Attack: 16 Damage: 10

Thanks for the map in the OOC Ithelion.  It's pretty much what it would look like and what I used to create the map.  Only the three of you responded to a possible surprise scenario so here it is below.  

Krom, you step up through the caltrops and are 10 feet in front of the others (at G19).

Daemyar you open the door and all heads turn towards you.  You see 4 twig blight-like creatures hiss at you in unison.  The sound is quite uncomfortable and your bolt misses!  You withdraw 25 feet to H16.

Shere moves up, intending to fire through the open door as well.  The bolt looks to fly true but skips off the stones just near the door.

Ithelion moves up but can't get a good angle for a shot.  She holds her bow at the ready and will fire at any creature that presents themselves...

"Suprise round" is over.

Initiative:
Group 1 - Demyar, TB2
Group 2 - Shere, TB1, TB3
Group 3 - Krom, Ithelion, Garnet, TB4

TB2 shambles out into the hallway and heads for the closest target - Ithelion.  As it steps out, Elosa screeches and flies around its head and Ithelion looses her arrow - a hit!  It stumbles back a little bit before responding with a swipe of its sharp branches at Ithelion:  Attack: 23 Damage: 4  

Daemyar, you're up!

 Daemyar - shaking his head at those rushing forward, he hefts his crossbow and fires at the blight attacking Ithelion:  Attack: 21 Damage: 12 plus 6.    Daemyar growls, "Better get out of there, elf!"

TB1 - moves 20 feet to the west to I23 (its full movement).
TB3 - also moves 20 feet to the west to G22.

Krom, Ithelion, Garnet are up!

 Daemyar's attack is good and puts a whole through the brittle body of TB2 - it is dead!

Garnet waits for a twig blight to present itself, backing up down the hall.  When the first twig blight comes into sight, she shoots an arrow from her short bow.  

Ithelion backs away into the corridor, giving a not of gratitude towards daemyar "thank you!" after jumping trought the first round of caltrops, she turns around, preparing her arrow for the first blight that presents itself
