Ithelion nods to the others, going foward to the tree, she keeps her head down not to be spotted, trying to listen to more of what the figures are saying
PWAT is not up anymore, as Garnet cast another spell.
Despite your best efforts, you are heard coming through the brambles and briars. Looking ahead, you see more clearly the scene before you.
Aclearing is here among the briars. Several varieties of plants grow around the perimeter of the clearing, including a few suspicious- looking saplings, but their importance pales before that which stands at the courtyard's center. Beneath the fungal light grows an evil tree. Its blackened, twisted limbs reach upward, like a skeletal hand clawing its way out of the earth. Within the branches you see a large, ripe fruit hanging. This must be the magical fruit you have heard so much about - the one said to cure maladies and disease of all kinds, to prolong life and health..... Before the tree stand a few smaller strange, dead trees; a heavily armored, young human male with a shield and sword; a blonde, young human woman in a robe fit for a noble; and a middle-aged, bearded human male wearing a hooded brown robe and armed with a staff and sickle. The younger humans have black eyes and gray skin with the texture of bark.
The bearded man hears you crunching around in the dry briars and turns. He calls out, "Hold a moment, you know not what you do!"
ithelion looks at the twisted tree, noticing the mystical fruit growing "Belak, is it? why would a druid, a mage of life and nature, use such twisted and wicked magic?!" she points at the evil tree and its twisted limbs "for what purpose do you desire the power of this fruit?!"
ithelion looks at the twisted tree, noticing the mystical fruit growing, she telepatically commands Elosa to hide, and silently steal the fruit when the time is right "Belak, is it? why would a druid, a mage of life and nature, use such twisted and wicked magic?!" she points at the evil tree and its twisted limbs
Garnet whispers to Shere, “Sure, do that as I talk to them,’ especially if you think this is souring.”
“Ok, we will hold for a moment, can you explain what you are doing here? We saw your experiments on the rats and the goblins, most foul. Please. Convince me. Tell me how this isn’t a perversion of the laws of nature. But with words, and without injecting us with some foul ichor from a plant.”
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Perversion?! You sound like them, the fools! I am expanding nature's reach in ways they cannot comprehend. And I have found the means to do it with the Gulthias Tree!"
While you talk to Belak, you notice several trees come to life and fan out around the area between you and the fallen druid. The human figure near Belak also moves a bit. There is some shaking in the tree as well as you watch a creature of some sort move near the fruit. It hops down to the ground and also begins to move, putting some ground between its master and itself.
"There is no law in nature - she is chaos. A beast no chain made by humans can hold. She will be here long after any of us. By infusing the trees essence with other living things, it has made them tougher, more durable, more profound and....stranger than before. Though your remains would enrich the compost, you'll serve my needs better as supplicants. You shall retain your lives, after a fashion. Surrender and submit peacefully, or perish!"
I can put another map if it will help you. But basically if you look at the map previous, the twig blights will have tried to move closer to you across the opening. Belak closer to the tree and touching it, the female token (Sharwyn) probably where it stands now, and the other male character (Sir Bradford) a bit to the east. There creature that came out of the tree resembles a giant frog.
( i guess another map would be good for better reference
"expanding nature's reach? it seems like you are dealing with things you do not understand. we will not stand idly and let you do as you please!" ithelion notices the frog-like creature falling from the tree, she grabs her bow, looking at the twig brights. she quickly grabs one of Ashardalon's rage arrows, loading it into her bow "get ready comrades, this seems like it will be a tough fight. let's go!" she shoots the arrow in the direction of the frog , aiming right between his eyes

ooc: If I could only talk to the Druid alone for one minute. I would have a chance to make him afraid of the tree but that ain't gonna happen.
