Okay. While you all feel somewhat unsettled by this situation, it is decided to push on and find a more suitable site for your eventual rest. You follow the path, keeping the top of the ridge of the cliff to your right. You pass a few copses of trees, some more boulders - some of which are large and give you pause. Luckily, there is nothing waiting behind you. you make good time and from atop a hill, you can see the New Road in the distance - maybe a mile away. As it happens, Daemyar makes it known that this is a good defensible position. As the sun is beginning to sink into the horizon, you survey your camp: a shallow gully with a couple of big rocks on either end. By sitting near the rock Daemyar is standing in, one could keep watch easily and see anything coming your way.
@ithelion - your work is still legible and decent and you keep on with your map. Elosa notices some mice but knows you wouldn’t like her chasing them around. Your bond with her strengthens. @daemyar - you stand on the rock, nodding at the relative sanctuary you’ve led your group to. Looking around behind you, you’re certain you’ve not been followed. A sigh of contentment? Satisfaction? Escapes your lips.
You both receive inspiration.
you set up camp quickly - do you want a fire? I’ll need to know watch order.
(( ooc: do we want double watches? If not, I guess just 2 hours watching and 6 or so sleeping each...
@DM: Two questions...thanks for the Inspiration! What can I use for? And...I *think* Elves only need 4 hours rest in total (PHP has had two revisions about this)...is that correct in your world? ))
Krom drops his pack and sinks to the ground holding his warhammer in his lap, "I can take any watch." He settles into his spot before looking around at the group, "I can only do this fer one of ye and fer only one of yer gear. But come to me in the morning if ye feel that ye need yer weapon to pack a little more punch or if ye feel that ye could use a wee bit more protection from yer armor. Basically I can bless either yer weapon or armor fer the day to be just a wee bit better."
((Spoiler is for the inspiration question.))
If you have inspiration, you can expend it when you make an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check. Spending your inspiration gives you advantage on that roll.
Additionally, if you have inspiration, you can reward another player for good roleplaying, clever thinking, or simply doing something exciting in the game. When another player character does something that really contributes to the story in a fun and interesting way, you can give up your inspiration to give that character inspiration.

Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
Watch: 1) Lorell 2) Krom 3) Ithelion/Elosa (she is now fully rested) 4) Daemyar + Ithelion (I assume Elosa needs rest)
Garnet is not in the list currently; her perception is lowest (1); she could perhaps join any other watch she chooses.
Ithelion will allow Elosa to hunt early in the night, then meditate before waking near midnight to watch through the night. She wakes Daemyar whenit is watch, but remains on watch herself as well: she read once that most nighttime attacks occur in the pre-dawn hours, so having two people on watch at that time appeals to her. Though of course, it was a book on Elvish military history, so it may not apply.
Perfect. Roll a perception check for your watch please. For Daemyar and Ithelion's watch, one of you can roll perception while the other does something else, e.g. making breakfast, preparing, etc... OR you can both roll perception. Up to you.
(Garnet can take watch early in the morning then so we don't need a campfire for her to see.)
"It's probably best if I take the early morning watch." Setting her pack down, resting against it with her shield across her chest. She wasn't quite ready to sleep but she would at least be still with her thoughts.
Alright. The last two watches are punctuated by howls of wolves. Several times you see the wolves get fairly close - they are not very brave. Several come close enough for you to attack if you want, otherwise they leave you alone. You're not sure how many there are. As the dawn begins to crest the horizon, you see about 8 wolves slinking around your campsite. They seem unnaturally bold but none have moved to attack you....yet.
Ithelion would nervously stoke the fire, then use prestidigitation to create showers of Sparks seemingly lunging at them. She would also use the same spell to enliven the fire if it was low, then make loud explosive sounds with the spell.
"Wild animals are best repelled with fire and loud noise", she turns to Daemyar. "I read that in Killeon's Almanac; he travelled a lot."
If that does not show any signs of deterring them, she would turn to Daemyar "That's odd, I'm sure it should work...wake the others?"
Daemyar will probably notice that Ithelion is unusually pensive on his watch; he would likely also notice that she seems distracted, often staring into the fire or into the darkness. When(if) he mentions comments on it she would apologise and focus on the task she should be performing; these lapses do not last long, as she visibly makes efforts to focus on the practicalities of their situation.
By morning, despite a long rest, Ithelion looks more tired than one might expect after a nights rest.
Over breakfast she says, "Did anyone else have an...unusual...vision last night?"
