Flint concurs, “Sounds like a plan to me.” When Alaric is ready to infiltrate the chamber again, Flint will cast Guidance so that Alaric can add 3 to his stealth check.

(( @Aragorn: Alaric answers to the best of his knowledge... ))
He frowns, "It was very smoky, what I could see was ... "
(( @Aragorn: Does the smoke or terrain offer any advantage on the sneak attempt? Or just affect the perception attempt? Or neither? ))
When he has given all of the information he can, he says "Wish me luck"...then thanks Flint when he actually does.
He crouches down, and moves forward, "Give me a minute ot two to get in place."
Using any cover he observed the first time to circle away from the majority of goblins, moving around the file area with the goblins, the getting as close as he can to the prisoner he saw, while looking for signs of any others. He then waits for the others to attract them away from the prisoner.
Stealth(using Guidance, will roll advantage, but show non-advantage version as well): 19
((Edit: first roll was best, so that's the stealth result with or without advantage ))
Alvara nods, "Sneaking is a good idea, too many of 'em to put to sleep, the others might just wake 'em up before we can get in." She whispers "good luck!" as Alaric heads off.
Alvara counts down, keeping her voice barely audible so Flint and Eraminus can hear. She hopes Alaric has succeeded in getting into position. "4... 3... 2...."
When Alvara reaches 1, she raises both hands and spreads her fingers wide to cast Minor Illusion as loudly as she can. She creates the sound of a large chest of coins being overturned, the scatter of hundreds of coins clinking and clattering as they hit the ground. A metallic ringing echoing as dozens of coins begin to roll about the cavern floor.
The reaction is instant. All of the goblins around the fire rush towards the sound, shouting and shoving each other to get there first. The goblin guarding the prisoner frowns, but stays where he is.
Alaric: The only goblin in the room is the guard,
Others: You have five goblins running towards you.

Alaric moves stealthily to attack the goblin guarding the prisoner, preferably from behind...I'm hoping he gets surprise and at least one attack at advantage...if possible....

(( I am about to go to bed...so will make some rolls assuming first one with Advantage, and hope I get a surprise round...in case there is no advantage, I'll show the first dice result...))

Round 1
Attack 1: 26 Damage: 14
Attack 1 would be a roll of 15 without advantage, and no sneak damage would mean only 7 points of damage.
Attack 2: 21 Damage: 5 (oops...did that one at advantage by accident...the actual attack roll is only 9, so probably a miss)
I have no idea how I messed the rolls up; attack 1 was a hit I thin, attack 2 had a 9, and it a miss I think.

Hearing the goblins' shouts and footsteps, Alvara whispers to Flint and Eraminus, "And here they come...."
She raises her hands again, this time projecting the illusion of an image of a large overturned chest of gold coins, the one she had practiced earlier, in front of them. She hoped it would distract the goblins and provide a few second of cover to the three of them before it was discovered to be an illusion.
(( Will also roll initiative assuming we will need this at some point )) Alvara initiative: 24
Minor Illusion description, spell DC is 14:
Physical interaction with the image reveals it to be an illusion, because things can pass through it.
If a creature uses its action to examine the sound or image, the creature can determine that it is an illusion with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. If a creature discerns the illusion for what it is, the illusion becomes faint to the creature.
(( Terrified to edit...I meant to say the attacks were knock-outs ))
If the goblin goes down, Alaric checks the prisoner, and tries to release him, then moves up to stealthily attack the other goblins from behind, if possible.
(( Also, now I'm off to bed ))
Just so we are clear as well...I think that's likely to be 13 points in round 1 and 4 in round 2...hoping that's enough for a goblin...and that Alaric survives to round 2!!!

Flint readies himself with hammer and shield. He calls to Alvara, “Aye, that will get their attention.” Flint takes position just ahead of Alvara, trying to find a choke point in case the goblins try to get by him.

(You do get advantage from the smoke, and through the haze, Alaric saw goblins with both bows and swords.)
Alaric easily sneaks through the smoke, the goblins unaware. He hugs the embankment, and makes it to the stairs leading up to the ridge.

(( Can Alaric see the other prisoner? ))
Skulking behind a rock if possible, out of the line of travel of the goblins to the group, he waits for them to distract the Goblins.
(No, he can only see one prisoner.)

(I'll repost the map to help everyone know where they are.)
Alaric is near the stairs in room 6, the goblin guard is standing near the prisoner near the first stalagmite.
The others are near the bridge I'm assuming, and the goblins are running through the Northern tunnel.
Alaric, I need a stealth roll please. (The goblin is facing the stairs, so you may need to use a ranged weapon.)
