Two men come forward with manacles towards Allister and Nenne. They look at each other and nod.
Allister and Nenne:
When they get close, both of them say in low voices, "Play along. Can you help? Our flame has been crazed for the last few days." They move to put manacles on, but give both heroes the key in the same motion.
“Wait a second. And don’t be frightened. Vargach! Don’t shoot! Please come out. It will all be good. Remember, just accept what we do even if you don’t understand. Listen everyone, I messed up, I take responsibility for it. No hostilities, I beg you.“ Looking at the mercenaries he says „Go ahead, I won’t resist.“
Nenne nods to her captor, and a hint of purple rises in her cheeks at his words. She says to the rest of her friends, "Everyone remain calm. There is no need for violence just now. Please have faith in us." And she begins to walk with the Fist soldier back toward the flame.
Under her breath, she asks, "What made him like this? What have you tried?"
Vargach hears Allister’s words and understands them as well, but he has resolved to surely not show his face to these people. He is perpetually confused by these “civilized” folk’s interactions, but something is off about this group. Vargach has no intentions to get his face pounded in or partake in some other strange activity that they may find fun. Bow at the ready, he waits and hopes for no one to discover him because that might force his hands.
After Allister and Nenne are in manacles, the man shackling the cleric says, "Both of you over there while we arrest the rest of your traitorous party!" He gestures to the man on the far right nearest the river as he moves towards Boosey. Nodding to the blue wizard, the man speaks to his superior officer, "Sir, could you help Orin with that one? He's got a look in his eyes I don't like."
Nenne:
The soldier gives a quick response before instructing the two of you out loud, "Maybe the blue mist. Spring it when you get behind him."
"Funderburk," Nenne calls out sharply, "be accommodating, please! A perfect judgment involves more information than you have in this moment. Archer! Stay your bow a while longer. Thank you both."
To Allister, she says quietly, "Can you subdue the flame without injuring him? I believe a toxin is to blame for this behavior."
The flame grins and crosses the field in front of the two manacled companions. He promises pain to Funderburk should the wizard resist. His sword is still out and at the ready. The other two of his men move to arrest the gnome and the wizard. Eku takes another couple steps back, obviously confused.
“Grappling isn’t my strong side. And I’m afraid any action we take will be seen as a sign to attack by a certain lizardman. But I can try my best to take him down.“ Allister takes a slow step towards the commander, waiting for anyone to stop him or warn the commander of his approach
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nenne follows the fighter closely, keeping a watchful eye on the flame and trying to see if there are any physical signs of illness or contagion. (Medicine 25)
Allister is not hindered by any of the bystanders as he gets near the flame, so he takes of his manacles, makes a placating gestures to everyone and grapples to commander.
Boosey casts hold person on the slightly manic leader of the flaming fist. “Stop this nonsense now, everyone.” If successful he says. “Maybe a short time like that will calm you down. Get it into your head that we are your allies and not the enemy. Now will someone with some balls kindly explain what the hell is going on here?”

As the flame's men just watch, Allister tackles the guy trying to get a grasp on him. The fighter manages to pin his sword arm to the man, but his second arm comes free. Allister tries to get the man to the ground, but he kicks and the two just end up running around in a circle. The man yells for his men, cursing and sputtering over the insolent behavior.
Seeing Allister make a move on the man in front of him, Vargach draws back on his bow. He aims at the fist closest to him and pictures the lightly dressed opponent covered in thorns.
As he is just about to release the shot, he startles and remembers their fight against the pirates. Allister had screamed at him for attacking them and he still did not entirely know why. Additionally, he had heard the man yell some gibberish about playing along, which now seemed to him like a bad idea. Given the confusion, he slowly eased up on his draw and debated what to do. He decides to wait for now, seeing how the civilized folk resolve this situation and simply plans to shoot the first fist to raise a weapon against his companions.
The gnome's spell goes off and Allister is suddenly grappling with a very stiff and immobile man. The fighter brings the flame down to the ground, who hits it hard in a strange position that could never work without magic. The men around the group cheer and the two with manacles turn away from Funderburk and Boosey to restrain their own superior officer. They call for help as they place one restraint on each arm and leg. One of the men tells the gnome, "Whatever you do, don't let that go."
"Bless your quick mind, storyteller!" Nenne praises the bard as she hurries to open her manacles with the provided key. Spotting the field cleric, she waves her now-free hand at him and asks, "What spells have you tried, brother priest? Perhaps I can assist." She rushes over to kneel beside the flame.
"Eku! Sthara! Have either of you heard of a blue mist that makes folk go mad? We believe this is what happened to the flame."
„What the hell did happen here? This place is driving me crazy!! When this is over I’m staying away from Chult forever. Can someone help me up please? And please accept my apologies for making this mess in the first place. Maybe now we can speak like reasonable people. And VARGACH, DON ´T SHOOT!“
Nenne roughly removes Allister's manacles and points away from her. "You go keep them in line," she orders him coldly, referring to the wizard and the ranger with her gestures. "We will have words later. I need room to work."

The man in charge points his sword at Funderburk and says, "Shut your trap. There'll be no more foul words from any of you. I am the Flaming Fist!"
“Wait a second. And don’t be frightened. Vargach! Don’t shoot! Please come out. It will all be good. Remember, just accept what we do even if you don’t understand. Sthara turns leans to Eku and speaks.
“Le ibonakala ngathi iphambene kancinci.”

“This one seems to be a little crazy.”
Nenne nods to her captor, and a hint of purple rises in her cheeks at his words. She says to the rest of her friends, "Everyone remain calm. There is no need for violence just now. Please have faith in us." And she begins to walk with the Fist soldier back toward the flame.

Eku replies to the sorceress in the same dialect filled with clicks as she steps back a couple feet.
