Alright. I can't see what the low roll was on Clove's roll. I think the mouse over thing is busted right now and I do hate to see bad rolls go to waste, so: Since he rolled with advantage, I'll say an even roll here makes the roll stand as it is, and an odd roll says he has to roll again since I can't know what that other roll was? 23
As far as I can tell Clove already wrecked his opponent, he must have rolled a nat 20.
When Allister reaches the merchant´s stand he tries to find weapons similar to his cutlass and rapier. He also looks at other weapons carried around town to figure out if his choice of weapons is unusual or if in this humid climate his steel weapons might suffer from corrosion at a high rate.
Maybe just to keep things going we should just move past it. I think it was just a communication error. That spell only affects a single target. *waves hand dismissively* It's not a big deal for this thing.
The man Boosey propositions nods stupidly at him and looks on in excitement. Was that acknowledgement, or ...? Clove takes the large woman's hand in his own and one of the bystanders encloses his own hands around the competitors. He begins to count in the Chultan dialect and throws his hands wide after three numbers. The woman and Clove struggle against each other furiously. The tabaxi's muscle lines can be seen through his fur and the toned arm of the woman ripples as she flexes, though her arm around her bicep is badly bruised. Try as she might, her arm falls and Clove is the undisputed winner of the match. The crowd around the pair give cheers to the tabaxi and the woman, Ekene-Afa introduces herself in the common tongue, taking the tabaxi's forearm in a greeting, "I am Ekene-Afa, mighty gladiator. It seem you have the most might this day. I agreed to no terms, but you have my respect, furred one. Tell me, are you that brave true or will the jungle eat you up?" She looks to Boosey and Allister as she stands and asks, "You three. What do you hunt?" Her accent is heavy, and she is very hard to understand, but you make out most of the words and fill in the ones she missed.
Allister approaches Ekene-Afa and offers his arm in the fashion she did with Clove. "Well met, my name is Halving. We are run-of-the-mill adventurers looking for fame and treasure in the mysterious jungles of Chult. As you can see we are still ill prepared for a journey into the wild, so we are looking for proper equipment. Word is your weapons are superior to anyone else´s in Chult, so we came here see if they hold up to their reputation."
Seeing some of his own weaponry for sale, Allister doesn't feel so out of place. It makes sense that they have so many shafted weapons with this forest around. Perhaps a bit more oil would help with any corrosion. Ekene-Afa returns Allister's grip and holds it for a moment, firmly squeezing his magically enhanced arm. She gives an approving, "Hrmm," as she looks the warrior over. "It is true what you say. My weapons are the best. Try any one of them out." She gestures to the wall behind her.
"Your name was given to us as one who has great skill, knowledge and expertise," and Boosey bows to the merchant prince. "It seems that you were the only merchant here in the city where humble adventurers such as ourselves could receive sage and expert guidance, as well as most excellent equipment," and he spreads out his hand indicating the merchandise surrounding them. "Judging by the quality of stock, your reputation is well earned. None of the other so called traders can match you."
He gives a sly grin to Ekene-Afa. "I am a travelling bard from the Sword Coast come to gather stories and song. I would hear of your exploits, so I can create the most wonderful ballads to spread your fame far and wide. The nobles of Waterdeep would be entranced by you!"
Allister takes a look at the weapons display, searching primarily for an axe or any hacking weapon to clear the jungle and these long-bladed spears. He picks some up, trying to get a feeling for the weight and balance. If a weapon is to his satisfaction he turns to Ekene-Afa and asks for the price.
Ekene-Afa raises and eyebrow to Boosey then proceeds to more or less ignore him in favor of strolling through her wares with Allister. As they walk she tries her best to make a sale indicating how different items might be of use. "That handaxe...it sells for five gold pieces. A must-have for the jungle. Ah, another favorite for underbrush is this one." She holds up a sickle and says, "A single gold for this." Periodically she glances at the tabaxi and shakes her head in disbelief, rubbing her bruised bicep. A tap on the shoulder gains Boosey's attention. The gnome turns to find the Chultan man from the crowd who slowly, regrettably places a single, platinum coin in the bard's small hand. After some time Ekene-Afa asks, "Does your path take you down the River Soshenstar?"
Allister inspects the sickle, testing its edge with his finger. "I´ll take this one for sure, and the handaxe." He hands Ekene-Afa six gold pieces. "A friend of mine is making inquiries that will give us further insight into our route. What is special about the river? What kind of equipment do you propose if we travel it?"
She grins a most wicked grin as she speaks, "Equip...Supplies are no problem, but I sell the best canoes in all of Port Nyanzaru if you need one." The fact that Sthara mentioned these merchant princes monopolize their respective markets is not lost on Allister - of course she sells the best (and only) canoes available. Her mispronounced words pull him from his thoughts, "That shop is on the east side of the bazaar. A mere fifty gold and you can pick any color! Enough of that! Down the river is a stone man who carries a crocodile on his back. A statue. A temple. I have been inside and seen its reward." She points to a shield mounted in a centralized location on the wall, but out of reach for many before adding, "This trophy I am offering in exchange for the temple's reward. Its wood is as strong as any steel and you would be hard pressed to pierce that hide." The wooden shield is layered with an electric blue colored reptile hide. Whatever creature it came from bore yellow streaks that now run vertically down the shield.
I pat the weapons on my hips. "As you can see I prefer to fight with two weapons, but this shield seems like a fine trophy indeed. It´s best we meet with our friend now, we will keep your information about this temple in mind when planning our endeavors. For now I thank you for these excellent weapons. Fare well." I offer my forearm again and nod towards Clove and Boosey to follow me. Once we are out of hearing distance I say "We have to reach Funderburk and Sthara quickly. This temple seems like an interesting point to look for the Death Curse. I bet their merchant prince has more information to offer about this place than Ekene-Afa."
Once they've reached the doors to Wakanga's villa, Sthara turns around and looks out at the grounds as the rain falls, drumming against the plant life. She smiles and then turns to knock on the heavy doors with a resounding thud. She steps back, guidingFunderbunk to do the same, and awaits an answer.

Funderburk acknowledges Sthara and takes a step back. "It's going to be an honor to meet this man, such lore and magic he knows. It makes me want to know it all also," Funderburk says with a grin.

"He is known to be quite the avid collector. Were he in another life, I'm sure the tales he could tell would enable him to rival the best entertainers."
Funderburk and Sthara wait expectantly, but a few minutes pass by and the doors remain closed. Both travelers notice two or three forms move about inside the building, though. There is definitely someone inside.
Clove, I saw what the roll was, but it was rolled with advantage. Boosey's spell was cast on Allister, thinking the fighter was going to do some sparring, so you shouldn't have had advantage. It's not a big deal. Just some miscommunication I think. All this was in previous posts as well as her answer to your proposition.
"Uh, should we knock again Sthara? Or... look for another way in if you know what I mean." He said puzzled. "I know not why they wouldn't answer the door. For all we know.. it could not be him at all... what say you? What should we do?" He looks towards Sthara, waiting for her decision towards the matter.
