Slipping and sliding though the muck, you make your way over to the light tentatively. The rain hides any noise you might be making, but you can't even be sure you are making any against the downpour around you. Closer inspection reveals two humanoids: A man and...well you just aren't sure what else, but that other thing holds a torch that seems to be unaffected by the rain. They are travelling through the jungle at a cautious pace. They don't appear to have seen you, but they might see the light created from any spells cast this close if they were observant enough. You are currently on their left and they would not encounter your camp if they kept their course.
I message Nenne, turning and pointing my finger in her direction "A man, and something that looks like some sort of lizard man. They appear to be alone, the light is a torch"
Nenne whispers back, "Are they approaching our camp? If they strike you as threatening, we shall come to you at once." Nenne then relays the information to the group.
Returning the message I add "They look like they will miss us the way they are walking. There's something about them that urges caution. I wonder if this is the man the giant was talking about? Shall I get their attention?"

Nenne receives his second message with concern. "We're on our way," she replies.
"He said the man might be Artus Cimber," she tells the group, frowning deeply at the rain pattering against her armor. "I think he means to engage him. I, for one, and not comfortable with an ally approaching a skulker in the night by himself." With that, she taps her amulet and slips off into the darkness after Boosey. (Stealth 2 plus 2 Guidance)
I look at Funderburk, Eku and Sthara. „Get weapons and spells ready, but stay low. I’m gonna go to their rear and confront them.“ With that I make a wide circle around the two and step out of the trees

“Then I will follow suit. There can be no denying that they wander along the same path that we walk for now.” Sthara will follow Nenne out until the persons are visible. (Stealth: 20 or 9).
Funderburk, off of Dunk for the moment, answered Allister, "I shall do so.You be careful also." As he watched Allister get closer to the group he looked at Sthara before she left as well,"I fear the closest I shall get is about 50ft. That way I am a bit closer, yet not too far. I'm not good with stealth I fear." Funderburk turned around, and hopped onto Dunk, "Let us get closer Dunk, I fear we may be needed by our companions soon."
Eku, unsure of what to do just tells Sthara to call for her if they need help. Otherwise she will remain with the tents. As Allister closes in on the travelling pair, he can see that they are alert and looking in the direction of what might be a noisy mage... The fighter steps out into view and two things happen. The green skinned creature draws a sword that immediately lights the area ten feet around him. His stance is wary and he moves directly between the two humans. The man behind the green skin watches Allister carefully, but still seems to be aware of the coming sound of Dunk. Neither of the humanoids appear to show any note of Nenne, Sthara, or Boosey. The man calls out, "Hello?"
“Hello, good sir. What are the odds of two humans, not native to this island, meeting here in this jungle?“ He points towards the lizard man. „This display of weapons is not necessary. As you see, mine are still sheathed. I’m just here to still my curiosity. My name is Allister Halving, by the way.“ He tilts his head in a slight bow
He yells over the rain in reply, "That remains to be seen. It's his way. What's this about? I don't recognize you, nor do I know your name." Dunk crashes into sight and both of the men tense at the new threat. The man yells out, "Friend of yours?"
"Peace to you," Nenne says, keeping her arms relaxed at her sides and her mace tucked in her belt. "We were camping not far off and I noticed your torch. Our group is passing through the jungle on the way to Fort Belurian. I roused them to alert them to a potential danger. And yes, that is our mount. He is large, but not a threat to you or your companion."
“One of them. But I didn’t expect you to recognize my name, it’s just good manners to introduce oneself. Like I said, no need to draw steel, this place is dangerous enough without making enemies this early in the morning. I just want to know if we can talk like civilized men. I’m on a mission and don’t want ill-intended folks in my path. That’s all.“
Surprised at the cleric's voice, the man jumps. He tilts his head trying to listen to Allister and Nenne while wiping rain out of his eyes. "What's that? Fort Beluarian? You have a camp? Is it dry?" Dry is an interesting word for the space the party leads the two strangers to. A canvas is tied off to three trees and the fourth corner is tied to Dunk, who munches happily on wet ferns. The space under the canvas is sopping wet in between roots that are uncomfortable to stand on.
The green skinned creature keeps his sword out in a very non threatening way, while he passes the torch off to the human. The torch light is of little use compared to the glow that seems to radiate from the green skin's sword, which appears to be the main reason he still carries it. Once everyone is under the small, ten foot canvas the man says, "Now, what's this about Fort Beluarian? Are you four...five lost?" He smiles at the diminutive gnome when he spots him and counts him as five. Eku motioned from a nearby tent. Apparently she is keen on silently staying there.
”We have traveled from Port Nyanzaru. You see, I followed a sign to these foreigners. This one has business with a pirate, this one is on the hunt for books, this one seeks the fort for business, this one found a wolf, and the large beast seeks ferns. We all seek the source of the blight on those returned from the dead. It is the strangest of occurrences that Ubtao has led me to and now sees me off into, but the path of my maze is a good one, I’m certain of this. What a tale to bring back to Mezro when we have seen it through.”
The man seems a bit surprised. He says, "You follow Ubtoa? I passed a shrine dedicated to the lost god just yesterday. I believe it's about half a day from here...Those are a lot of different paths from different walks of life to converge." He is quiet for a moment, looking as if he is wrestling with some thought. Then he asks Sthara directly, "What do you know of Mezro?"
”Really?! In which direction? I would love to see it, to see if he’d speak to me again there...but I guess I have not quite made enough progress down my path for that just yet.” The excitement quickly fades.
”Most of my childhood, a short time after leaving the egg was spent in Mezro. Mazewalker Izifo rescued me from the jungle after...my kin abandoned me within it.”
She’s lost in thought for a moment, clutching at the pearl around her neck, but shoots the man a venomous stare and asks, “What do you know of Ubtao?”
After listening to the banter Allister between Sthara and the man he whistles a long high pitched tone to catch everyone’s attention. “Look at us, talking like civilized people. You see, my friend, I told the truth. Now, by courtesy, you could give us your names“ he points at both man and lizard man “and tell us what you are doing in the jungle, ill-equipped and lacking even a simple tent. I bet I already know the answer.“ The last words he adds with s broad smart-ass grin.
The man snaps his attention to Allister at the start of the whistle. He shrugs understandably and nods to his friend. "I suppose that's only fair. My name is Aerin Sieve and this is my loyal companion. He's never said a word that I know of so I can't exactly give you his name; I just call him 'friend'." He looks to his rather small pack and continues, "I guess you could say that we're roaming. There are a lot of terrors in this jungle and my goals are to see them gone so that more beautiful things can return. Did someone in Port Nyanzaru tell you about us, or...?" He seemed surprised when Allister mentioned already knowing him. His last question comes at a loss.

Nenne receives his second message with concern. "We're on our way," she replies.

Sthara seizes the opportunity to explain:
”We have traveled from Port Nyanzaru. You see, I followed a sign to these foreigners. The mention of the shrine excites Sthara.
