tgowwhh. Allister plunges his rapier into the last cauldron, opening up a large hole in the side. He tears the weapon free, breaking it completely. The skeleton forming in the top topples to join the piles of bones on the floor. A double thrust with his rapier and cutlass leaves the skelton near Allister without a head. The cutlass glances off the skeleton sending the weapon in a weird angle. Allister's miss with his cutlass opens up a prime spot for the damaged skeleton to get through the formidable fighter's defenses. The skeleton doesn't waste the opportunity, opening up a gash on Allister's hand (8 bludgeoning damage).
None of the skeletons surrounding Nenne can bring themselves to overcome the calming hand that rests their weapons by their sides.
Aoda gets attacked and hit by four different skeletons (8, 6, 4, and 3 bludgeoning damage).
With the cauldron destroyed, and no more skeletons coming from them a sudden thunderclap resounds through the chamber, and a split second later Boosey appears between two skeletons. The first, which is Attacking Allister explodes, showering both the gnome and the fighter with shards of brittle white bone, while the other, which is engaged with Aoda seems unaffected by the blast of sound. Boosey grits his teeth and with wild eyes shouts, "Let's finish this, now!"
Aoda wraps himself around the skeleton beside Boosey and crunches it with a vengeance (24 to hit, 14 damage).
As knowledge that her spell failed to aid Orvex sinks into her mind, Nenne's countenance grows deadly. With an eerie calm, she touches her amulet and summons a horde of spectral black panthers (Spirit Guardians). They prowl and lash out at all the skeletons in her vicinity. (Wis 16 for 16 radiant damage or half).
With only one skeleton in sight Allister has no trouble destroying it by slashing the rapier across its brittle chest and smashing it to pieces. Nenneˋs giant snake blocks most of the remaining skeleton from him, so he runs around it to fight off the remaining undead.
All the skeletons Alister runs towards fall to pieces under the relentless onslaught of Nenne's spirit guardians. The remaining two run up to Boosey and Aoda. Boosey easily ducks the sloppy attack. Aoda gets wacked once and spins its head around to seek out its attacker.
With just two skeletons left in the chamber, Boosey adjusts his position so he is directly between the two creatures. Another thunderclap spews forth from the gnome, and the one engaged with Aoda disintegrates instantaneously. The other, bones rattling violently, remains standing. A lone figure in what had been a swarm which was now strewn carelessly about the room.
Seeing the commotion coming to an end glimbul dashes out from the corner around the chariot to see the last standing skeleton. While in the middle of his run he lets looks a hastened arrow. Grazing the leg of the skeleton with enough force a bone comes out causing it to come crumbling to the floor. Out of breath he calls out, “Was that all of it?”
With no other movement in the chamber, Boosey rushes over to Orvex and casts cure wounds on him, in an attempt to revive the scribe. Having done that he gives a pained shout, "Lemon," then runs over to what is left of the dwarf. "Poor stupid dwarf. Why did you have to go touching things," he cries at the small pile of dust that was Lemon.
As soon as the room is confirmed to be clear Boosey darts over to Orvex and presses a hand against his chest filled with healing energy. When the scribe doesn't move, Boosey backs away and makes room for Nenne, who comes in grabbing at her components pouch. There cleric gets to work examining the still unmoving man while Boosey makes his way over to where Lemon used to be. Lemon's shield wears and expression caught somewhere between surprise and happiness next to a pile of ash. The platinum caged heart amulet also lies nearby, seemingly unaffected by the terrible magic that came out of the ensorceled shield. Boosey runs his fingers through the ash as if hoping for some sign of...something. Only white ash comes away on the shaky fingers of the gnome.
A thought occurs to Boosey, and he pulls the vial of Hydra blood from his pack. He mixes a little with water from the magic fountain and glancing around he sees Nenne busy with Orvex. Taking the mixture he pours it on to the pile of ash, hoping against hope that there may just be some kind of regenerative effect on the dwarf. After he's finished pouring the mixture he kneels there, rocking back and forth gently, tears dropping from wet eyes.
Glimbul getting a good look around, “Well this had turned in a bad way. We should probably rest here while determining what next to do. It looks like” he pauses while looking between Orvex and where Lemon was. “Everyone needs some time to process everything that has just happened.”
Boosey sits, leaning against the cart and closing his eyes. "You're right of course. We're relatively safe in here, just don't go playing with that coffin, you don't know what else might be triggered," and he gives the silent statues an uneasy look. "It wouldn't be good if these things came to life while we rest. I can still create the hut for us, just to be on the safe side."
Allister goes to Orvexˋs body and closes his eyes. He ten takes his notes. „Goodbye, master. I’ll bring this to a library, so yout deeds and wisdom will not be forgotten.“
Nenne takes out a handful of diamond dust and sprinkles it on Orvex. Bowing her head in a short prayer, she touches her amulet with two fingers and gently taps the scribe on the chest. (Revivify)
Nenne cocks her head as if she heard something while the diamond dust dissolves over Orvex. Normally, the dissolving dust becomes a part of the energy that recalls a departing soul to the body of the recently deceased. This time, the diamonds dissolve into a popping, sizzling goo that blackens and burns the scribe's body.
Revivify has failed. Orvex lies unmoving on the cold stone floor as the tiny pockets of sizzling diamond dust finish mocking Nenne's powerful spell.
Allister walks over to Nenne and puts a hand on her shoulder. „You have done what you could for the dead. Let us focus on the living and that their sacrifice wasn’t for nothing.“
Nenne stares at nothing. Briefly, a familiar haunted expression settles on her face and her breath falters. As the seconds pass, her lips press into a determined line and darken along with the rest of her complexion. Like a sunrise, her palette slowly grows in vibrancy as gentle pinks make way for magentas and reds. Unlike before, it doesn't stop - the shifting of the seasons' colors flows on. Magenta gives way to a harvest of peach and pumpkin, and rich copper and brass flood through her curls.
"I hear you," she says, calm as the autumn night. She rises with grace and continues to stare at nothing. "We will meet soon enough, and I will introduce myself properly. Until then, do keep your hands off my psyche. That is no way to behave."
She glances down at Orvex, over her shoulder at what used to be Lemon, and finally at her own hands. A peculiar smile crosses her face. "Not yet," she says, mostly to herself, and her smile begins to fade along with her complexion. The colors of a dying harvest give rise to the still contemplation of Winter as she kneels to kiss the scribe on the forehead and whisper something in her native language. She walks over to Lemon's remains and whispers something again, placing a single berry beside what's left of him as she finishes. The adornment of Winter, too, is fleeting it seems, for her pinks and rose golds return.
The cleric walks to Aoda and, thanking him for his service with a tender pat, recalls him to the staff. To the rest of the group, she says in a tone that's both defeated and hopeful, "I am spent. I have energy for one more spell, and I would very much like to do some good here. Please, allow me to heal one of you."

Orvex doesn't move as the skeletons scatter towards Nenne and Allister. The shield seems quiet for the moment.
Noticing the shield move and realizing she is no longer pinned down at her location, Nenne runs to F6 and shouts "Orvex!" (Spare the Dying)
She then grabs the staff lying on the floor and summons the great serpent once more with the charge, "Destroy any undead you see!"
