"The plaque on the previous floor said only a jewel could tame the frog," Nenne recalls. "We do possess the amulet of Papazotl...They were enemies. An offering of an imprisoned archenemy would be most acceptable to many a god, do you not think so?"
The cleric shrugs. "It is not doing us any good floating in a bottle of blood. So long as none of us touches it, it may be worthwhile to attempt the offering."
Allister pours the amulet and blood out enough to hook the chain with a dagger. Ever so carefully, the warrior places the amulet upon the offering ledge. A few moments go by....nothing happens. Longer moments linger by as everyone looks the room over for any changes. It appears that nothing has happened.
Allister takes the black pearl from the hollow heel of his boot and places it on the ledge. When nothing happens he puts the pearl back. „Any other guesses?“
"I suppose that went about as well as I expected," the cleric admits. "Unless there need to be the same number of offerings as there are images, or perhaps some other element included in the sacrifice, I have no further ideas, I'm afraid."
"Have we put in order the gold and food for this god?" Vombec says as the room begins to shake. Noticing the amulet and the other items, Vombec takes in a deep breath and gives the god all of his gold, hoping the little amount would still please the god (15gp).
Nenne grips her staff anxiously and looks at the bones. "All these images depict people wearing masks and giving sacrifices," she calls out. "Warrior, remove that amulet with your dagger and back away. We have not done this properly."
Glimbul looking all around for movement from the tomb calls out. “I dont like this place, and Obo’laka doesn’t either. He thinks all these items laid out and the masks are too obvious and are most likely traps.”
Once the amulet is removed by Allister safely, Vombec kneels on the ground and places a palm on the stone. Mumbling, time passes by before he opens his eyes a looks about.
"The main sculpture above the offering ledge radiates divination magic. The sarcophagus radiates evocation and abjuration magic. That is all I have found from here. Even the masks are cleared of magic. Shall we attempt to try them on and try everything once more?"
As Vombec conveys his findings, a noise pulls attention to the altar ledge. The gold Vombec placed upon the altar melts. It sizzles and pops, dripping to the floor. Shapes born of shadow rise up out of the bones on the floor.
Seeing the old wizard close to one of the undead he rushes to his side. While moving he srabs and slashes at the nearest ghost. As he expects his weapons meet little resistance ad they pass through the forms. But he is pretty sure the shadow stuff of this creature seems less dense than before.
The creatures drift forward silently. None of them make a sound as they strike out, quick as lightning, shoving their clawed hands into Allister, Glimbul, and Vombec. Nenne's eyes go wide as Allister watches the shadow float past him a little too long, opening him up for clean strike. She raises her hand and a shimmering, red barrier blocks some of the attack as the hand is thrust into the warrior. His face drains of color and his knees buckle as he backs away (19 necrotic damage) from the terrible creature.
Glimbul weaves and dodges in the hallway, barely getting grazed by the ghostly hand. The near miss is enough to experience a world of hurt though (19 necrotic damage). If he were a simple man, the gnome knows he would have been dead.
The sounds of agony that come out of Vombec's mouth are enough to bring tears to anyone with a heart's eyes. There is no question about the amount of pain the wizard is experiencing right now. He convulses and nearly collapses, his face drains to the palest of colors, and it looks like he might pass out from the single attack for a moment (20 necrotic damage).
Gasping for air, as he almost falls to the ground prone, Vombec looks around, and places his hands on Boosey and Allister. "Go." He says with a wincing breath, as he casts the spell Invisibility on himself, Allister, and Boosey. Each disappearing from sight.
Silently as well, Vombec moves to the right side of the tomb (F6).
Nenne feels her amulet radiate a dull heat as her friends vanish, leaving nothing between her and the undead. "For heaven's sake," she sighs at the creatures, "we made one error! Be gone!" (Channel Divinity - Turn Undead)
Sensing the fear take root in two of the creatures, she calls to her friends, "Focus on the far left one! Ignore the others; they are censured and frightened of Kelemvor's power."
A red light shimmers around her form and dissipates into her armor. (Sanctuary)
Allister hears Nenne‘s words as he is about to attack his first enemy. He once more stabs his flaming blade into the incorporeal form, trusting his instincts instead of aiming for vital areas. As he takes a step back to get a better angle for his attack with the cutlass he kicks Boosey who is still invisible and nearly falls. Only his quick reflexes keep him on his feet.
As Boosey becomes invisible he advances towards the creature that Nenne had pointed out and swings his staff at it. He hits, but there is little impact as the staff seemingly just passes through the non-corporeal being, although it is slowed a little like it is being swung through water. The gnome reappears the instant the staff touches the thing, and he sings out encouragement to Vombec, imbuing the wizard with inspiration.
The shade reaches out to touch Boosey, but hearing the screams of agony from Vombec has him on his best guard. The gnome dodges out of the way nimbly, keeping focus on the single hostile enemy.

The chamber rattles. The amulet and other items on the ledge rattle alone with the bones on the floor.
