"Not...not anything undead, at least," the cleric replies, mostly succeeding in reining in her distress. "A face flashed in the mirror. An infant. Ghoulish. But...it is gone, and I see Allister again."
"In the mirror or on the mirror? Was it a reflection from in this room you saw?" Panic rising in the gnome even more now. "We have to get Allister out of there, he surely cannot survive alone against so many. You cannot go in Nenne, neither can I the shape I'm in, and Glimbul would not venture in there alone." He grips his staff tightly, knuckles whitening round the shaft. With a scream of frustration, sorrow and pent up anger he lifts the staff and swings it hard into the mirror, tears streaming down his face as he does so.
The mirror shatters into hundreds of pieces, falling to the stone floor. The sound of the glass hitting the stone is the only sound during the incredible moment. One by one, the pieces become still and silent.
The gnome stands still as stone, staring at the frame of the broken mirror, the staff held limply in one hand down by his side. "We've doomed him," he says quietly, and weeps.
The shards of the mirror start to shiver slightly, gradually turning into a pile of violently shaking glass. Suddenly, many shapes are expelled all at once! A minotaur, a troll, a couple chultan men, a four-armed gargoyle, an armored warrior, a stirge, and a male drow fill the hallway, turning everything into chaos. The troll and gargoyle roar, attacking immediately. The stirge bats its wings to gain its bearings. the chultan men look totally confused. The armored woman draws her greatsword and yells out something in chultan. The minotaur bellows out a warcry and stomps the ground in front of him.
The troll immediately targets Boosey, digging into the gnome with two raking claws, which pull him close enough for the vile thing to bite down into the gnome's flesh. The fresh blood running down its face causes it to scream out in gleeful victory. The minotaur surveys the scene as best it can while trying to maneuver in the small hallway. Cramped as he is, there is little he can do besides look about right now.
Having taken damage from the Troll, Boosey's sole focus is on the horrid creature. He moves to where there is a little more room and swings his staff at it, giving it a glancing blow on its shoulder.
Allister is still trying to figure out what is happening after being shifted into the corridor without notice. When he sees nothing but enemies and hearing screams he pulls out his rapier and sets it on fire. When he stabs the woman behind him his strike is deflected by the armor. But since she has no space to maneuver she cannot step away from the following attacks which pierce through the armor into her shoulders. Just as he lifts his arms for a downward slash at his opponent’s head the chultan man behind him stumbles and crashes into Allister. He has to stop the attack as his reflexes keep him from falling down.
The male Drow looks around with his newly found freedom and takes in the scene. Before long, the Drow speaks some words in an unknown language and waves his hands over his body- disappearing from sight altogether.
The Chultan man in the corner of the room screams in shock and horror. He makes himself as small as he can in his little corner, covering his eyes and head. He repeats something in the Chultan dialect - likely a prayer judging by the way he acted.
Nenne is so caught up by the chaos that she completely misses the stirge. The damnable creature attaches itself to the cleric, thrusting its proboscis into the back of Nenne's neck (5 piercing damage).
The battle prowess of the four-armed gargoyle leaves no room for imagination as it tears viciously into the troll. A rake across the thing's nose, pulls off much of the skin there, causing it to react and swing at the gargoyle. The gargoyle grabs the extended arm by thrusting a clawed hand right into the flesh. It rakes another claw right down the arm, splitting it open. Gore falls to the floor before the gargoyle sinks its teeth into the troll's hand. The gargoyle disengages completely to keep in the air, but not without a final slash to the troll's shoulder. The troll belts out a screech of fury!
Boosey is caught off guard when the 'empty' space beside him fights back. An unseen assailant punches him in the ribs - a true sucker punch that has quite a bit of force behind it (Crit for 14 bludgeoning damage). The blow is quickly followed quickly by a second, but Boosey is quick to pull his arm in to block. He almost gets his arm in the way of the tender spot, but not being able to see whatever is attacking him gives it the upper hand. His side explodes in pain again (11 bludgeoning damage).
Seeing the vulnerable position the Minotaur is in, Glimbul pulls out his dagger and strikes while he can. He easily sinks the blade into the flesh of the large creature. Satisfied with the current situation the Minotaur is in he holds his ground, hoping to keep the creature stuck in this position.
Nenne materializes as a soothing red light starts to pulse from her amulet. She holds out her hand and shouts over the din, "Do not target humanoids! We are no threat! Focus on the monsters and let your rescuers pass!" (Calm Emotions centered on Allister)
The Chultan armored woman reels from Allister's attacks. She spits out what can only be a curse and looks back to the minotaur. She says something and they put their backs together as if fighting as a team. The woman is clearly trained in the ways of melee combat as she feints left, but comes down with an overhead chop at Allister. He manages to block, but only barely, leaving his hand numb and stinging. Her elbow comes in at Allister's chin, but he pushes back to disengage the pair completely. The woman rolls with the momentum, taking her blade in a complete circle from the floor, behind her, and then down again with an overhead chop. The woman's fluidity is unreal - she ducks low to give the sword room to swing above her as if the thing were an extension of her own body. She manages to find some of her own resolve and sets her jaw in determination. She is not going to be overcome easily.
The Chultan man in front of Allister drops low in a defensive crouch, ready to move out of danger at a moment's notice.
The troll's wounds regenerate, as trolls are want to do. It is far from prime condition, but the regenerative properties of trolls is the stuff of legends. The troll manages to bite down on the gargoyle, breaking off two of it's clawed fingers. It brings a long limb up for its own clawed attack, but fails to find any purchase. The troll has to defend itself for several more blows from the gargoyle before it can find an opening of its own. It tears lines in the stone chest of the gargoyle.
The minotaur bellows a roar down at Glimbul and throws all caution to the wind. The creature rips its greataxe through the air down at the rogue. Glimbul manages to somehow kick to the side, leaving the blade to hit only stone. The minotaur is far from done with this, though, and slams his weapon sideways knocking the rogue into the wall.
Boosey releases a wave of thunder right next to Nenne, causing the cleric to reel up against the wall. The stirge attached to her evaporates instantly while Troll and Gargoyle carry on their fight regardles. The invisible creature attacking him, who knows if it was affected. Pulling out the healing potion Nenne had given him, he downs the liquid in a couple of gulps and some of his wounds begin to knit.
Allister is surprised that the woman can handle the greatsword so nimbly in the narrow corridor. When she tries another overhead chop at Allister, he steps aside at the last moment. Her momentum carries the Chultan straight into the rapier, stabbing her deeply into the hip and cauterizing the wound. She steps away from Allister, but his second attack fails penetrate her armor and leaves only a slightly smoking scratch.
In a new position, the drow reappears on the other side of the wall where he was previously at (A9). Speaking once more in a tongue unknown, he opens his mouth in agape an oozy green and yellowish cloud spews forth from his within his gut, filling the room and out into the hallway. The drow then takes another look around the room and prepares himself.
