After watching his teammates act, Funderburk himself did as well. Not taking notice of their new ally, instead concentrated on moving upward. He moved to where we was behind Allister saying, "I have your back Allister," and focused a suppressed lightning bolt at the two pirates at the boat. The bolt (dealing 31 damage if failed save), pierced the two bodies of the pirates and to the surprise to everyone, even Funderburk, pierced a third body as a big man stepped out into the open. After the bolt, Funderburk decided to stay where he was, not moving was probably the best option for him at the moment.
As the energy builds and Funderburk's hands, the air hums and then suddenly spark ignites a loud crack as the bolt finds its way from 1, 2 and then 3 targets making their way out of the building. The man that had tried his luck against the bard lights up with an inner, bluish-white light twitching before he falls to the ground, as does the man on the other side of the doorway. The big man in the doorway is singed and blackened by the bolt Burn marks erupt all over the exposed bits of his skin peeking out from underneath is studded leather armor. It is all he can do to even stand there in the doorway as he drops his heavy crossbow to lean heavily against the door casing for support.

Hearing the shouts from the other side of the wall, Nenne sprints inside the compound, stopping at V11 (bottom right). She notices movement atop the ballista's platform and, raising her mace high, summons a giant, red skeletal hand over the area (floating at X15). Her Spiritual Weapon proceeds to slam down toward the unengaged pirate. Attack: 16 Damage: 6
Glancing to her right, she notices a pirate at the base of the platform (at Y12). "A warning, from the Lord of the damned," she says to him, pointing her mace in his direction and casting Sacred Flame. A burst of radiant fire barrels his way. (DC 14 Dex save, 3 damage on a fail).
The skeletal claws from Nenne's spiritual weapon dig deep into the man as he tries in vain to parry the blow. Allister identifies the man, even though he can't see him, as one of his old crew as he recognizes the man's signature call for trouble, "Oh me! Oh me!" The big man in the door wants nothing to do with the battle anymore as he tries to flee, he catches Nenne staring at him with hands raised in casting. As she gives her warning, he yells, "No, no no!" and tries his best to back away into the room out of sight. He does so, but not before radiant flames surround him. No stranger to battle, Nenne recognizes the sound of one passing into Kelemvor's realm for judgement.
At the gate Boosey watches in astonishment as one after the other the pirates are downed. Still looking up at the ballista in fascination at the lizard man causing havoc, he targets the pirate still up there with his crossbow. He takes his time, aiming carefully, before loosing a bolt Attack: 9 Damage: 8. The wound on his arm causes him to snatch at the shot.
Shouts of, "Wizard!" ring out from several voices coming from inside the building as a drunken man comes stumbling through the double door, scrambling over his own feet. He shoulder checks the door on his way out, spinning him back towards the ship building. Not even giving it a second thought he races forward now aimed at Allister, scimitar drawn.
A pair of swaying men burst out the door behind the first, point at elven cleric in unison and both yell, "Wizard?" before firing badly aimed shots that only hit the log wall. One of them slaps the other and points to Funderburk before yelling, "Wizard!"
One of the sentries atop the upper walkway jumps back at the crack of electricity. He moves just close enough to see a single target and fires a light crossbow towards Boosey. The hit is true, piercing through the bard's cloak and into his torso. The cloak may have slowed the bolt, but it hurts something fierce, as it pops free of the wound, now hanging from the gnomes cloak. (9 damage)
A second sentry rushes forward above to fire at the tall, green skinned warrior to no avail. He curses loudly and loads a second bolt.
Sthara runs up to the gate next to Boosey, spying the two in the distance at the front of the ship as she does.
In her hands she spins up a frosty looking ball and splits it into two, one in each hand, throwing them at the two pirates (s12 — 20 to hit for 17, r13 — 19 to hit for 16).
As the balls of frost from Sthara connect squarely with each man, they both take in sharp breaths that would be their last. Their hands clutch at their frozen hearts in vain as their vision darkens, shutting out the world forever.
Eku rushes up beside Sthara to stand on the other side of Boosey, but fires an arrow past Nenne at the rear most drunken man to deadly effect. He clutches at the arrow sticking out of his chest as he falls to the ground. She calls out to the bard as she stands like a sentinel between him and the drunken crossbowmen, "Are you okay? That does not look good."
Boosey gives Eku a quick grin, before wincing. "'Tis but a scratch, my friend," then bends over doubled up in pain. "I'll be all right. I'll let you know if it gets any worse!"
Allister drops the horn and pulls his rapier from the scabbard as he approaches his next foe. The pirate tries in vain to deflect the two rapid stabs to his torso. As he falls to the ground, grasping his bleeding chest, Allister quickly steps around him and slashes the next pirate in line with his axe. Not as accustomed to the weapon as to his cutlass he only scratches the man.
A pirate Allister recognizes as Tommy Fin comes bursting out of the doors to join the foray. He leaps over the corpse at the door to join his comrade in front of the fighter. He feints before cutting in. The rouse is good, but not as good as it could have been causing Allister a nick on the forearm. (3 damage)
A few more men come around the left side of the building. One fires at Funderburk to no effect as he misses badly. Two more bolts fire in from light crossbows, one coming from an unseen assailant farther behind the building. Both bolts aim towards Eku, but only one finds its mark. She calls out in pain as it draws a line of blood across her neck, grazing her slightly. A few inches to the left and she would have been a dead woman.
Funderburk, realizing he was the center of attention, noticed his cloak to have some creases on it. He glares at the man that missed him, and the others following suit soon. he then pats his robes, and speaks. "Eh, what the hell." With that, Funderburk moves away from the boat, back towards Sthara and Boosey till he is 10ft ahead of Sthara.
Funderburk, raises his arms once more, staff in hand, when he lets out an arc of energy. The lightning bolt cuts towards the pirates (T12, and R13). Funderburk, having the bolt once more let out of his hands, only can hope that this too hits its mark like his last.
Funderburk's lighting bolt crackles out once more blasting both men off of their feet. Their forms unceremoniously land in uncomfortable heaps, making no move to adjust themselves. Small wisps of smoke steam up off of them as more men can be heard yelling out in surprise from behind the building.
The red skeleton hand slams down a second time on the pirate it struck previously. Attack: 18 Damage: 8 (ooc: Tentative - will edit if VK's turn makes this unnecessary)
Seeing enemies continuing to pour out of the structure, Nenne drops back toward the wall (W10, right) to give herself a better view of the doorway and stretches out her shield arm. To the pirates, she cries, "Keep your distance or risk your lives!" A beam of vibrant red light (Guiding Bolt) shoots out from the symbol of Kelemvor on her shield directly at the one attacking Allister (X11). Attack: 22 Damage: 8

Things appear to be going even better than expected. The lizardfolk is more than elated at this point that he had decided to take our the ballista, because the group attacking the pirate cover has wrought more destruction than he had thought possible. After his initial onslaught, Vargach had dodged several attacks, but also taken a hit. His primal senses now kicked into gear and he readied himself to strike again. With an evil glint of the ranger's eyes, he simple bellowed, "Die!" and thereby placed this Hunter's Mark on the for who had rung the bell. Then he slashed into him again, with both his right and his left blade. They came down from both sides at the same time, his arms crossed when he started the swing and uncrossing at it's end. There was a real possibility of the slashes cutting his foe in half.
A double thrust from Vargach has the bell ringer lying dead before he could even register the move. Fully in the rhythm of combat now, the ranger pushes off of the bell ringer spinning as he goes. The next strike is a well-placed downward poke that comes in just behind the would be attack's collar bone.
A third man joins in the combat above, stabbing out with his cutlass to keep the ranger busy while yelling to the other two men up top, "Kill this damned lizard! Surround and attack as one you idiots!"One of the men throws down his crossbow to do just that, but receives a heavy rake from Nenne's skeletal red hand. His squeal of pain accents his lost love for this fight.
Circling the reptilian ranger to put as much distance between the dangerous red hand and himself, one of the sentries strikes out as he was told. A second sentry joins the first and the multiple angles prove to far apart for Vargach to parry either while dealing with the first man's furious stabs. Both attacks draw lines of blood, though the attacker on the right delivers the better blow. (2 and 5 damage)
An angry man spitting with rage comes from around the ship building with a drawn shortsword. He runs dead on towards Funderburk and sets himself in a low position trying to time the perfect strike against the unarmored wizard.
The drunken man Allister wounded grabs for his wound and collapses to his knees in front of the warrior. His attention is turned to the fallen around him as he says a quick prayer. Fin yells at him to stand and fight, but it's clear there's no fight left in the man.
