Funderburk, not even bothering to listen to what Fisher had to say continued onward's to find his items- to which he was pleased with once he was done with the search. Packing in the 45gp and the pendant, which he will finally be able to pay off Nenne with, he decided to once more travel to the brig and stand in front of Fisher.
Standing in front of him, Funderburk knelt down only feet away from the jail door and begin to speak to Fisher. "Well Fisher. Both you and I know why I am here and what is about to happen. As I have said earlier, if you don't answer my questions, I'll force them out of you, is that understood? I will break into your mind and look through it by force, do not test me." Funderburk, with a cold stare, looked into the eyes of Fisher. "I will ask three questions, and that will be all, and you will never see me again. I will send you along your way cause I frankly care not for whether the sinned go free or the virtuous go unnoticed."
"My first question is, what was you job here in the cove, or what did you do?"
"Do you have any affiliation or backstory with Captain's Laskilar and Elok, if so what was it"
"Last question will depend on your answers. Whether we reach the last question... is up to you."
"Sharkbait Rock", Boosey muses as he opens the door. That's a punishment that doesn't leave much to the imagination. He enters the room warily and makes his way over to the tables and open chest, roughly estimating what is there and keeping an eye out for any correspondence the Captains may have left lying around. Giving a low whistle on seeing the treasure, he turns to look at the weapons to see if there is anything worth salvaging amongst the rusty blades.
Choosing a random crate he pulls out his dagger and prises the lid off one to see what is inside.
With some disappointment Allister examines the meager content of the pouch. „You tell me you have been working here for this? You could make more money in every tavern across the Sword Coast. And you could even spend it there on more than booze and food. Just saying...“ Meanwhile he walks amongst the drunks and sleeping pirates, getting them up from their chairs, helping the unwilling or unable by kicking the chairs from underneath their butts. „Listen up, mates, I want all of you to get into something resembling a straight line. You will take off your shoes and put them on the floor, and then we take a walk to the pier. There is a big rock at the end with all your names on it. Understood? Let’s do it.“
The lizardfolk has been engrossed in a side conversation with another and had not lid heed to the going ons around him. There was little of interest happening for no one was fighting and he cared not for earthly riches. Gold could not feed his tribe in the wilderness, though a sharp blade or better bow would always be appreciated. It was now his major concern to continue dismantling the presence of anyone other than his kind in the area and he wanted to see this task completed. Talking a little more with the woman beside him, he had realized some common goals, but first, several things had to happen. He heard the man who had yelled at him lining up pirates downstairs and he decided to see and wait what would happen next from his save, perched position atop the platform. He also wondered how the big ballista worked and decided that he should have tried to shoot some of the pirates with it, because if his big bow was good, how much better would an even bigger bow be?
The men in the tavern are proving to be a difficult lot and one of them wakes up at the mention of a rock and throws a full drunken tantrum, slapping mugs off of tables as he falls over. He yells, "Not sharkbait rock, Cap'n! I've done nuffin wrong!"
Done speaking with the reptilian ranger and not sure if she'd had any impact at all, Eku makes her way towards Nenne, Sthara and the volatile pirates tied up in the cubby room. She takes her place in the doorway by Sthara as Nenne reads the elven scripted letter aloud. The cleric recognizes the high elven script, which seems very out of place in this pirate's bloody boot. The letter says:
Captain Worlo Seafist,
It has come to my attention that you have been afflicted by the Death Curse. You have my condolences, as I am sure it is quite painful. Along with this letter is a diamond pendant which is not to be used as common treasure. In the near future you will be visited by a woman bearing the likeness of a serpent in her blood. The diamond pendant is hers and hers alone. I believe this woman and her companions are the key to stopping the Death Curse. This would cure you and if that wasn't enough, I will further send another diamond twice the pendant's size once your task is finished. You are to tell her that answers await in the Heart of Ubtao. If you fail in your task, I have another letter addressed to a few individuals you've been avoiding telling the location of a very peculiar pirate cove in Jahaka Bay.

Wedging the dagger into the nearest crate, Boosey begins to pry the lid off. A strange creek near the back of the room gets the bard's attention, which suddenly pumps the bard full of adrenaline. Ten rusty swords of various types pull themselves from the rear wall. They are swishing and slashing through the air coming right for the small gnome seemingly held by no assailant! Magic is surely at play here and the odds do not look good.
"Oh shi….." Without a second thought Boosey turns and makes for the door, once outside closing them and holding them shut. With his back to the door he shouts to the others. "Hey guys we've got a problem. Flying swords, that kind of thing. Might need a little help!"
Allister grabs the man throwing the tantrum by his shirt and pulls him close to his face. „Calm down, I don’t know what your talking about! But I can take a guess what you’re hinting at. Nothing’s gonna happen if you calm down. You hear me?“ He turns towards the assembled sorry lot. „All of you, stay calm and listen. No keelhauling, no walking the plank, no feeding the sharks, no flogging. You have my word. I was in your place once, I know the pain and fear you and others suffered. And even if you took part in such torture in the past I ´m not here as your hangman. Get to the rock, behave and you will be treated fairly. Now move your sorry asses.“
As soon as the pirates start walking Allister hears a call for help. „Shit. I have to be somewhere. Move to the rock and stay out of my friendˋs way.“ With that Allister is running towards Boosey.
Ever alert, Vargach watches from his high perch as swords whiz by the opening behind the crane. The small bard comes running out of the door, slamming it behind him. His calls are clearly that of one in trouble. One by one, the swords slash and stab at the door, bouncing the bard against its hard surface. Boosey knows that this door will not hold long and for the swords to have gotten to him so fast is a chilling thought. Not to mention who knows what one of those rusty edges feels like...
Lots of this is just for flavor. Mechanically, the swords had to double move to get to the door so they couldn't attack, but they are fast. This'll put us at the top of the round whenever we get all initiative rolls in.
Nenne hears the bard's cries for help and pokes her head into the hall to investigate. Seeing the gnome bracing a pair of rattling doors, shouting about flying swords, she grasps her holy symbol and turns to Worlo, saying, "Seems he's triggered a trap. Tell me how to disengage it, lest we all meet our end today skewered to a wall. Remember, if this lady mage perishes, there will be no one left to save you from this curse." (ooc: Using my action to cast Guidance on my Intimidation check: 8 plus 2)
If he is accommodating with his information, she will ask him to stay put for his safety and run her full movement toward Boosey. If he keeps his mouth shut, she will politely remind him that inaction is akin to violence, and she swore to send him to Kelemvor if he chose that path. Then she will back up five feet into the hall to allow Sthara and others to pass while keeping an eye on the prisoners, mace ready.
The captain opens his mouth to speak then closes it. He looks to his boot across the room, then to his missing hand. The look he returns to the eladrin is one of uncaring and cold eyes. He gives a mirthless laugh and says, "Maybe he'll get one o' these." As he speaks he holds up his stump arm. Eku throws her bow around her body and dashes towards the gnome yelling for him to hold on just a little longer.
As everyone scrambles towards Boosey's shouts for help, the magically animated swords go to work hacking and slashing at the door. Bits of wood fall onto the gnome on his side of the door. It's not going to take much more of this punishment before the swords come through.
Vargach sees the swords whizz by, chasing after the gnome and is a little lost for words. He knows that the little guy is in danger and needs help, but has not the slightest ideas how to resolve this situation. He starts running that way anyway, pulling his longbow and considering what he could do. Maybe if they could destroy the swords, that would do.
As Worlo's words echo in Nenne's ears, every last strand of white hair turns gold, spreading outward from her roots like a merciless tidal wave. She slowly raises her hand toward the condemned man and, voice tight with a fury intermingled with deep sadness, she says quietly, "This is the path you've chosen."
A jet of vicious red flame erupts from her palm as her Sacred Flame streaks toward Worlo.

Dex 14 save. At disadvantage because he's restrained, I believe. 7
The captain cries out in pain as the flames lick up around him. He makes no attempt to move out of the way. Eku races to the doors and braces against them with Boosey. She yells out to him, "What happened in there!?"
Funderburk, now at the prowl of the ship, yelled to his companions, "I cannot make it up there in time to join with you all, so I will stay here, and try best to fend them off with you!" With that in mind, he stayed and watched to prepare his spells, just for when the swords would make their appearance.
I held my action, I will cast second level Magic Missile once the swords come out. If I see multiple at once, 2 go to one sword, another 2 to another sword. Damage: 20
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"We will take them as they come," Sthara shouts, making her way closer to Boosey and Eku. "Release the door when you are ready and steady yourselves, for the sea is coming."
Her hands begin to froth and drip and she feels the tidal wave waiting to come crashing down. She feels magic begin to flow back into her body as more magic is released.
@DM
Tidal wave is being held until the doors are opened. I plan on having the wave crash from the side, so the 30ft is going to be 30ft into the room, to maximize the swords I hit.
15 damage on failed save, DC15 Dex
Again, burning a level two spell slot for two sorcery points.
“A red key...clever imagery, Mazemaker.”
Sthara takes and reads the letter.

Made you look.
Fisher gives a short and slow response that leaves little room for debate, "Piss off." He follows the comment with a line of spit to the floor.
