OOC: Really sorry. Was waiting on an alert from this and never got it so I thought you guys weren’t moving along. This is just my second campaign on ddb and I just started my first. Forgive me for treating this like I could be pinged like discord.

OOC: No worries! It only provides reminders of threads you have posted in at least once, I believe.
“I would be honored to pledge my blades to this noble quest”. You look over a see a human man with twin katanas behind his back with his hand slightly raised. He is in dark leathers with a Black cloak with the hood over his head, partially hiding his scarred pale face.
“Ah, wonderful,” Halec says enthusiastically in response. “Glad to have another hero onboard for this. I’m Halec Abadir, and these are my companions, I’ll let them introduce themselves as they see fit. And you are?”
“Welcome to our little troupe, Soren Shadeweld,” Halec says in a welcoming tone, but toning down his usual bluster a bit. “I know these are strange times, and I myself have been afflicted with a bit of malaise and confusion from time to time, when faced with life’s strange circumstances, but know that of all the work I’ve ever taken on as an adventurer, this quest feels truly, tangibly, worthwhile. A truly ‘good deed’ wrapped in a heroes quest. These things don’t come along often. I’ll be glad to have you alongside us.”
Halec counts the newly assembled group and twists his mustache. “Well, we’ve gone from nearly all of us lost or otherwise departed, to a larger group than we started out with. An auspicious new beginning, perhaps. I believe our next course it set - the museum seems a credible target for a shard piece of the Ruby Snowflake relic based on the juxtaposition of both the map as well as the bounty description. Before we set off if anyone has any shopping or business in town, feel free to deal with that. Also, if anyone would care to share a bit about themselves or their skill set, that would be just fine. If you prefer to let your actions speak for themselves, as some adventurers do, well that’s fine as well.”
“I appreciate the warm welcome” Soren says quietly “I am looking to use my skills to make the world a better place. I’d rather not go into my specific reasons at the moment, but let’s just say I have a lot of atonement to do. I am skilled with my blades. I’m fast and agile and often have a silver tongue when needed. I can sneak and scout ahead, get into places that are locked. I’m not really familiar with this land, but I adapt well, so I don’t think it will be much of a problem”
“Fantastic,” Halec responds. “A man with your versatile skill set should be quite an asset on this endeavor. A good locksmith and trapsmith should make much of our journeys less perilous, and open new doors, as it were. I think we’ve got a well rounded group here to tackle this messy business at the museum, and to reclaim the remaining shards. We may save Snakeskin Valley yet.”
The trek to reach Malison History Museum begins. The journey starts by going through the forest where Igna lives, sometime along the journey, Soren gets his foot stuck in dark brown, quicksand-like dirt. His foot slowly begins to sink into the dark, sticky dirt.
Halec quickly reaches into his saddlebags and grabs the rope and grapple and tosses them to Soren. “Grab hold! Harbek, help anchor him! Everyone, together we can help pull him out!”

" Be careful, the traitor could be anyone. "
“Oh, don’t put too much stock in the words of fortune tellers, Ophiwalen,” Halec says. “They’re surely all charlatans and con artists.”
OOC: Is Soren participating?
"Ophiwalyn, would you feel better if I go discern the true nature of this fortune teller?"

"Greetings friend, I am Jahren, humble chronicler of the trials of these fine heroes here."
(last time for the artwork, I promise, it just does a better job with description than I can)
“My name is Soren Shadeweld. It is my pleasure to join you”
Soren sounds sincere, but his voice seems dark and pained.

OOC Btw, I will not be able to post as frequently the coming weeks, as more things are happening. Expect less participation from me.

"I'm sure you will be a great help to these here heroes, Soren Shadeweld. I look forward to your company."
"I'm ready to depart when everyone else is."
"Yes, let us depart. I wish to see this snowflake. It truly is a wonder."
“I am ready to depart as well. May our journey be safe and successful.”
Halec is also ready to set off to their next destination.
