"Well, I'm sure you won't do terribly. You'll do fine, you're just second guessing yourself. And if you do happen to play poorly, the worst that can happen is you won't get paid. It's not the end of the world, I already made a large pile from earlier. Just try your best, you'll do great. I'll be in the crowd, hopefully not getting harassed, so just focus on me if you start to slip, alright?"
The tavern is just as full as it was before, with a loud, cheery atmosphere, but this time there are more than dwarves and goblins in the seats. Almost every race imaginable is there. Elves, half elves, humans, goblins, dwarves, aarakokra, tieflings, you even see a few Changelings in the crowd. Currently, a slightly drunk band of humans are on the stage, singning a folktale to the delight of the crowd. Barmaids rove around the space, delivering food and drink, talking with the patrons, and everyone is in a delightful mood. As you approach the bar, Tall spots you and says "Oh, friend, here you are! I thought you might want to relax a little before your performance! Here, have a glass on me. What'll you take?"
"Ohhh, nonsense. You see the people in this room? They don't care if it's a good performance. If it is, they'll eat it up! If not, they'll all have a good laugh for a few minutes, then their slightly soggy brains will forget about it in a matter of minutes. Trust me, I've seen it before. And if you play even half as well tonight as you did in our interview earlier you'll still knock the socks off of everyone here. Its not just the music or performer who brings the mood up. It's the whole tavern community! Those people on stage right now? They can't sing well at all, but everyone's still cheering them on, aren't they? You're just getting butterflies, my friend."
Also, people in the library, as it's getting late, the librarian starts coming around, saying "We are closing soon. Please loan your books in the next 5 minutes, or leave, please."
"You're right my friend, im just overthinking this"
checks to see in Talia is in ear shot then leans close to Tall
"in all honesty, i admit that some of my fear has come from my party member, i believe that she sees me as just another bard, although i do wish to try to woo her. whoever she is a strong woman and i see now that i must earn respect before i can attempt to woo her"
I take another drink from my glass and smiles at Tall
"thank you again friend, you words carry a lot of weight"
"I think we should head back to the church and converse with the maidens about the story you found Nico." I say to him as I see him loan his own book out
Tall laughs and says "Yes, women of personal strength always seem more attractive, don't they? Well, my friend, confidence is key. Don't be intimidated by her, and keep at it. That's how I got married. When we first met, my wife couldn't stand the sight of me. But I kept at it, working my way into her heart bit by bit. We got to be friends, then soon after, lovers. Now I'm the happy man I am today. I'm sure you'll be able to impress her somehow, through your music, or your, forgive the pun, devilish charm."
Nico, you get your booked loaned to you, after the same process Eglig went through.
"Well I think Durk and Talia can look after themselves so we don't really need to go find them. At the end of the night they can find us at the church, I am sure this is something they would think of. We should speak to the maidens and see if there are more details we can be told bout their journeys."
"Well seems me and Nico want to find the Bard and Talia, their probably at a tavern and we could stay there the night and see the maiden tomorrow, this good for you monk?"
"i won't lie but im a tad nervousfor this performance Talia"
Looks at her Nervously
"what happens if i don't perform as well as i did in the interview"
"Well, I'm sure you won't do terribly. You'll do fine, you're just second guessing yourself. And if you do happen to play poorly, the worst that can happen is you won't get paid. (I am praying you don't roll a nat 1)
nods
"thank you Talia, that means a lot"
heads into the tavern and to the owner

He hands you a light ale, about half full.
"well i won't lie to you good sir, i'm having doubts about myself for my performance tonight"
sips on the light ale
"i don't wish to bring the mood down of tonight"

"It might be worth finding the others, either after seeing the maidens or see the maidens tomorrow and go and find Durk and Talia. it is getting late"
"As long as they're safe there's no need to rush, It might be worth seeing if our Bard is safe along with Talia?"
(yesss, run to Durk to watch him fail miserably so you can mock him for the rest of his days mwahahahahaha.... >:) )
"Well I think Durk and Talia can look after themselves so we don't really need to go find them. I reply to Nemm
(I wanted to say that but my char doesnt know about what he's doing yet XD)
finishes my drink and hands the glass back to Tall
"lets hope this goes well"
Heads to the side of the stage and waits for the current band to finish
"Well seems me and Nico want to find the Bard and Talia, their probably at a tavern and we could stay there the night and see the maiden tomorrow, this good for you monk?"
