With biting sarcasm, the hooded girl mirrors Quanderil's words back at him, particularly drawing out his slight pause into an awkward silence to both mock him and point out his error to Mr. Tyde.
"At least be a real man--," she points with her thumb to her wizard friend, "--and say his name without quaking in your boots. I bet you're so low in the ladder you never even met the guy..."
Dropping her maul with a loud thud (also an excuse for Xanranzan and Rubin to join in on this if they want), Kethra grabs Quanderil by the head, one hand grabbing his jaw to stop him from saying any magic words, and the other examine his forehead for cultic marks on his skull.

does the books jar any memories of anything for Rubin? Is it at all related to anything they have been working on? Doesn't seem useful if not, but I cannot recall anything myself...
Despite my grammer errors above, anything on this?
"You may not know him personally but the name rolls off your tongue too easily to have never spoke it before or perhaps heard it." Tyde grabs hold of the front of Quanderil's shirt and leans in close. "It's not worth protecting him."

Rubin comes out of the ship, carrying the books. he places them down on the ground before the pirate. "So, tell me what you are doing with books from the missing deligation." he snaps at the mage-pirate. Glancing to his companions, Rubin explains... "These books are the ones that were described to us, as part of the missing deligation we have been trying to find. They were aboard this man's ship, so I think there will be a lot of interested official-types wishing to know why they were there, and, exactly, what this mage here had to do with their disappearance."
"I bought them off of someone, they looked nice. Not my business who he was or where he got it from, if they’re stolen I’ll of course return them."
He glares at Tyde.
"How many times do I have to tell you—I. Don’t. Know. Him. One of my passengers probably mentioned his name around me, but again—bad business practice to snoop into your passengers’ business."

"Yes, it is bad business practice to snoop into your passenger's business. What if I tell people around here that you were spying on them to blackmail them in the future. That would hurt your long term profits... you might not even recover from it."
Tyde releases Quanderil and looks at their other captive. (ooc: there were 2 captives right?)

Kethra's eyes would bug out once these books are revealed...the party's first major, tangible, actually actual clue about the missing delegates!! As soon as it looks like Mr. Tyde is finished with Quanderil, she would run up and seize him right up there with Rubin, making sure his mouth can't speak a word.
"You disrespected my friends so you know what that means? That means you disrespected me! This is strike two, you little good-for-nothing!"
She angrily tightens her grip on his jaw with her +4 +5 Strength and wiggles it around, threatening to make him try to bite his tongue off (but not actually doing it!) Grapple? 12 (add another +1 to this roll)
"I saw a hideout where big rats picked the bones clean of people, a child being punished with weird devices, all guarded by men fanatically fighting to their last breath with weird markings on their head. And you know where their trail led to? Right to you! So you better think about your next words!!"

Quanderil crosses his arms. Well, within his bonds.
"I’m well within my rights to withhold information about my clients—and that’s assuming I know any in the first place, which I don’t. I took a band of less than savory individuals up to the keep by here, Rivergard. One of them sold me that book. I don’t know anything else."
