Kethra turns to Jairus. "You're right. But if it's not him, then he's just getting farther and farther from us... I'll try to grab him first, so if whoever is there is innocent, will not be accidentally hurt. Sound good?"

Jairus nods, then briefly recalls the incident where the barbarian was badly injured taking a hit for him, and adds quietly, "Be careful, Kethra."
Davian sees everyone readying their attacks. Realising that if he pounces he'll be hit, he dismisses his animal form. Reaching to his side he grabs his sling, loads a bullet and indicates he's ready.

Both of Jairus's crossbow bolts hit home, and you hear a squeal of pain from behind the drapes.
(Note, he's at the back end of the room.)
OOC: Note, Jairus would have approached to within 30 feet, the normal range for a hand crossbow at present, to make his shots, if possible. Otherwise I can re-roll with Disadvantage if needed.

Jairus goes a bit pale. "That looks like the symbol my ma had on some of her books and things, back in our shack," Jairus says. "Damn, ma. You was part o' this?"
Jairus nods, then briefly recalls the incident where the barbarian was badly injured taking a hit for him, and adds quietly, "Be careful, Kethra."
Upon hearing Jairus' words of caution, Kethra hesitates as she moves forward. She looks back and nods, but also revealing that her once glowing red eyes have now gone back to their natural pale blue. She creeps forward, with every step now acknowledging the injuries she's been receiving today, and attempts to pull back or rip down the draperies to reveal Flower-of-Ivory's quarry.
However, Kethra will be keeping her distance so she won't be engaged with whatever is behind there yet. (Will this take an action or an object interaction?)

(So I take it you didn't want me to approach and rip the drapes down with my surprise round? Or are the tapestries that line walls different from the ones covering our target?)

"It IS him," Flower hisses quietly.
(OOC: per Hunter's Mark successful roll, it is him)
"We shall unleash our fury on him."
(OOC: meaning we should all range attack him in a surprise round unless the DM rules it not surprise but standard initiative)
(OOC: this is Flower's vote)
Jairus aims and fires on this confirmation.
OOC: Roll with disadvantage, correct? Should we do initiative?
Davian sees everyone readying their attacks. Realising that if he pounces he'll be hit, he dismisses his animal form. Reaching to his side he grabs his sling, loads a bullet and indicates he's ready.
(There would be a surprise round. No disadvantage because he can't see you either.)

Jairus' surprise round, rolled neutrally without advantage or disadvantage, also no sneak attack due to being unable to see vitals:
Attack Action Attack Roll: 26
Attack Action Piercing Damage if a hit: 6
Bonus Action Attack Roll: 8
Bonus Action Damage if a hit: 8
OOC: Weirdly symmetrical rolls there...

Burn marks and arrows pepper the dastardly drapery, and its occupant screeches in pain.
(All hit but Damian's.)

Jairus will wait for an ally to close into melee and then take his shots, or just fire without sneak attack if no allies do so.
