Jairus cautiously enters, checking both the hall and the area around the bench for traps or other concealed passages as he goes. When he draws close to the bench, he guffaws, and says, “Well I’ll be. Did we discover a secret passage where they keep their shi -“ he reconsiders in the presence of a lady “-their latrine? Guess you can’t call it an outhouse if it’s indoors and underground. Maybe there’s a chamber pot under there? Fancy folks sometimes use gold ones.”
Having paws at the moment, Davian can't help move the statues or doors, so makes himself busy by pacing the hall constantly sniffing the air for danger.
Symon doesn't respond, but nods his acknowledgement as they gather near the second door. He checks the sight on his crossbow and ensures his rapier is loose in its scabbard and braces himself for bloodshed. Or a latrine.

Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
The passage behind this door leads north, then turns to the east. The tunnel opens into a square room that reeks of decaying flesh. Three human corpses, reduced to little more than bloody bone and sinew, are sprawled in the room’s center. Two oversized rats root among the bodies, stopping to chew flesh they’ve pulled free. Scuttling noises come from narrow crevices in the walls.
As one, the two rats' eyes turn and stare directly at you. They make no move forward, but they also don't move away.

"This looks like a bad bit of business..." rubin says with a frown, seeing the bodies. He takes aim and shoots one of the rats. Putting a second bolt in faster than the eye can follow, he sends another at the same rat, if it is up, or the second, if the first is down.
OOC: Jairus is not above searching what he thinks could have been a latrine - he would have checked the stone bench for valuables or secrets before leaving the first area to catch up with the others.
Seeing the large rats, Jairus is not the first to fire on them, but waits to see if they scatter and flee at the presence of light and humanoids, like normal rats would under these circumstances, or if these larger rats stick around to fight for their scavenged food.
Rubin swiftly fires two quarrels into one of the rats, felling it. The other screeches in outrage and runs at him. Three more rats pour out of the walls, all rushing for you.
(I'll assume you all moved into the room. The front line would be adjacent to a rat, the back 10 feet away with a party member in between you.)

The cloaked girl freezes at the sight of the rats, then turns to Mr. Tyde when Rubin starts shooting at them.
"Hey, um, Mr. Tyde...I'd like to use that magic wand now."
(Edit: If I can use the wand, I'll zap em all. If Mr. Tyde says I shouldn't, I'll try to stomp on the rat near me while freaking the &$%* out, then skewering a javelin at another one. I won't run away but I'm definitely not getting any closer lol.)

Cat-Davian eyes the rats longingly. His feline instinct kicking in. With the grace bestowed only to the most lethal of hunters, he slinks his way to the side of the group, using any shadow or darkness to his advantage. Pouncing from the shadow he launches at the cats most ancient of enemies - rats!
Davian pounces on a rat, following his natural instincts. He scores a solid hit, but doesn't quite kill his rat.
Symon's quarrel just barely whizzes over another one.
Rubin takes out the one in front of him.
Two rats remain (for now).
(Tyde, you can indeed give Kethra the wand as a free action (and she can use it this turn). Although I thought you already gave it to her earlier, might be misremembering.)

Kethra gets bitten and (just for rp) tries to frantically shake it off screaming at it in half common, half in dwarven, remembering the angry remarks of someone she met long ago in the smithing guild.

Kethra just narrows her eyes and goes to the next statue.

Kethra points the wand at the stupid rats and zaps one, then directs the other missile or missiles at the next one once it's dead.
Magic Missiles: 2 3 3
She catches her breath, half-smiling half-amazed at the power of magic, still pointing the smoking wand. "T-Thanks, Mr. Tyde."
One rat just barely hangs on to life through Kethra's barrage, and desperately tries to bite her.
