Macawi runs up next to Tarina, and shouts at all the pirates that can hear, " Dead-eye is no more. You can stand down and walk away. This can be all over with no more death."
((Persuasion in case you wanted it 19 ))
Macawi uses lays hand on himself to heal 5 hp. Macawi massages her temples until she feels better.
Some of the pirates are clearly shocked watching Dead-eye fall in battle. Others have hate-filled glares still fixed on Tarina. ((Each will make a wisdom save or flee this turn. DC 14. The DC has been increased due to Macawi’s high persuasion.))
Pirate 2 slashes Tarina across the chest with a scimitar. She falls to the ground, dying. Pirate 3 sinks his scimitar into her unconscious body, causing her to fail two death saves.
Ourick quickly fly over to the pirates hovering over Tarina’s collapsed body. As he flies, he lets out a serious of whistles and churps. He will attack pirate 2 with a spear and talon attack unless the pirate dies from the first, in which case he will talon attack pirate 3.
IF TARINA IS NOT STABILIZED AND ALIVE: I will run (if needed) to get 30 ft away from Tarina. I will cast as a bonus action Spare the Dying on Tarina. Then, I will run to the nearest enemy and slash with my longsword. A 6 D 2
IF TARINA IS STABILIZED OR DEAD: I will grab the nearest enemy [if I need to move, I will] and cast Inflict Wounds, muttering a set of divine incantations. A 21 D 15
[Inflict Wounds: Make a melee spell attack against a creature you can reach. On a hit, the target takes 3d10 necrotic damage.]
[ I think this is Journey’s first time facing combat and danger like this. If it’s alright with the DM, I’d like to roll a Wisdom saving throw or cause Journey to be stunned by fear for the round. Wis. Saving Throw: 14 ] If Journey succeeds on his save:
Journey will shakily pull out his crossbow and fire it at one of the pirates.
Attack: 19 Damage: 6
If Journey fails his save:
Journey stares in abject horror at what his magic has caused. He is simply unable to act for a few moments.
Macawi cannot let tarina get hit again. He steps up to pirate 2 (if pirate 2 is dead, Pirate 3) and uses the morning star to separate the pirates from tarina.
morning stat: Attack: 19 Damage: 12
[ This is where dillon learned to leave one left in the lay hand pool during combat...]
((I think 14 is high enough for Journey to pass the wisdom save))
Journey takes a deep breath and stills his shaking hands long enough to aim his crossbow. The bolt flies true and punctures the pirate’s lung. He falls, dead.
Macawi is in disbelief as he looks at the dead bodies of Liam, Igor and Tarina. A sense of failure sets in. She sees Ourick fly out of the door. Looking around at Fil and Journey, she asks, "Now what?" She is visually slouched in her shell with disappointment.
Ourick sees some of the pirates running west toward the docks. Due to his ability to fly, he thinks he can catch them.
He also sees a pair of Flaming Fist guards running from the east, toward the tavern. Ourick recognizes by their gear that they are common guards that walk the streets keeping the peace.
