Taraven will investigate the corpses with Galtheon's help Investigation 19
After investigating the corpses. She would like to investigate the east door for any script or markings (possibly like the ones at the entrance) Investigation 11
Investigating the stone remains, which as noted before continue to quiver and vibrate for nearly a full minute after the creatures were slain, reveals an odd trait. You note internal organs that appear entirely calcified, and within where each roughly had their “stomach” you would guess, they have a chunk of gold that can be separated from the remainder of the rock with some effort and tool use. Each chunk is relatively small, by your guess worth roughly 30 GP.
On the writing and script, there is none on either east or west doors here, both are plain and unadorned, one just happens to be locked, as far as you can tell.
I relay to the group, "This is very odd. Not only was their skin calcified but their organs too. Look. (showing them the chunk) Its as if they were eating the valuables of the mine. I did not grab any mining tools in town. Will one of you clean this off?"
Looking to the group Taraven says, "It seems like our only option is to go west. The east door looks locked. Too bad the rogue left us. We could have used her lock picking skills. Okkar do you have a key?"
"Why bother?" asks Nanoc, looking around the chamber they are in. "Surely those doors lead to the rooms behind the loopholes outside, which are empty, aren't they? Didn't someone look before?"
[DM, Is this chamber large enough for us to bring the horses inside, if we decide that is necessary. Also, did Okkar take a hit from the Stone Ghosts? Nanoc makes sure he is okay.]

Galtheon frowns at Nanoc, then turns to Taraven, "I daresay I might open it...but we'd need to decide if we want to continue now, or wait until morning."
He looks at the door, "Though it could be best to confirm they are empty. This room looked empty."

Okkar seems fine, none of the ghosts managed to batter through his chain mail it seems. He is shaken up by his second encounter with the creatures, but even minimal passive insight tells you he feels somewhat pleased at this step towards avenging his kin.
“I don’t have any keys” Okkar says. “Mine has been lost for a long time. We might find a key elsewhere within the facility of course, but who can say?” On the Sorceress’ mention of the gold inside the stone corpses, he raised an eyebrow. “Damned odd. Like they were eating... gold.”

I should have clarified, the loopholes you viewed stood out a ways from the main entryway which had a staircase leading up to it, the loophole areas and the rooms to the east and west are not the same.
Galtheon shrugs, "I'll see what I can do...Evan, can you assist?"
Lockpicking: 8 (Dex, Proficiency, Guidance)
(( I assume that's a fail; it's almost a minimum roll))
He frown again, "Beats me...it's late, I guess. Maybe in the morning, if I get any ideas."
Okkar gives Nanoc a sidelong look, then shakes his head. “Might be best to attempt it in the morning, with clearer eyes. Or just go west and see if we find a key elsewhere. Hell, breaking it down is always an option, but it might be a bit premature.”
ooc: Yes, James Spader is excellent is pretty much everything. Re-watching SG1 now, it's impressive how well it holds up after 20 years...
ooc: Ditto. It's worth re-watching, definitely...though the very first episode is a little shaky.
Galtheon nods to Nanoc, "We all should keep wary; putting it to rest tonight would be best."

(( @DM: Is lockpicking dex or int or either ? ))

This lock is Dex based and Thieves Tools add proficiency bonus if trained in them. Without thieves tools it cannot be attempted.

(( If retry is allowed after a rest, or similar, then: ))
Galtheon nods at the suggestion, "It's be a long day. With a good nights sleep, I probably can't do much worse."
"Do we rest in here or leave the mine and rest outside?"
"It's late, but I'd like to see if that last one comes back."
He stares out the open door, "Pretty stupid if it does."
He starts looking around the room for anything that catches his eye, "A few minutes..look around some more...see if there's gold in the other bodes."
"Then...I'd say rest outside: we don't know how many more of those things there are."
"Good idea, Galtheon."
Taraven will take one more look around the room for anything of importance before she heads outside for her long rest
