"I've already considered that option but as the barrier prevents all life from entering the area, that would include fowl. Such an intruder would undoubtedly be marked, if noticed. The question then becomes, will he be noticed. Still, I can think of no better options for gathering intelligence. Mia," he says turning to the paladin. "Do you have any ideas?"
(OOC - we opened a doorway, so he would have come through with us? The barrier prevented us from entering as well, until we opened the doorway up temporarily. My assumption was that if we could enter through the doorway, then our familiars could as well. Let me know if I'm incorrect though @Coach.)

ooc: I'm not explaining it clearly. Of course, Baltor is with us. If he is seen scouting the area, our adversary or quarry will know something is up.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC - ah, ok, I get it now. Sorry, reading it wrong.)
Bones scans the area for any signs of life other than the skeletons (Perception: 16). "Perhaps Cinder might be better suited then? Though he will be a little slower, so hopefully they do not begin to move quickly lest he lose them." With that, Cinder crawls out of Bones' beard and his spidery form scrambles across the ground to follow the patrol (Stealth if you need it: 7).
Bones points to a spot approximately 30ft away from the group and casts minor illusion to make another clunking sound, then again to make a skeleton, similar to the ones on patrol, stand up and look around. He manipulates the illusion to have it look like the skeleton convulses and then collapses, as if the magic animating the corpse failed, and a final illusion with a clunk and a thud for the animated skeleton falling to the ground.
I told you guys they were still moving your way, based on the way that we have done combat this is within lines of the norms, 2 days from the last post till today's. I did forget to say that you all may take your turns. All that being said they missed both targets.
Bones quietly says to the others, "Shall we hide and perhaps Talinian's familiar can follow from above?"

Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
(OOC - I thought we had entered in and were inside now already?)
ooc: We are and that's the point. If the barrier prevents even owls from entering, how did Baltor get in?

Cinder has a hard time trying to get to the skeletons.
