Unless directly spoken to, Derendil makes no conversation with the rest of the party, just itching to get away from the captors. Having essentially stumbled into a leadership role, Eldrik uses all of his knowledge and experience of the underdark to lead the group through the dangerous place, hopefully to safety.

And the journey continues (Part 4) - Day 4-3rd Tenday-Alturiak ...
As the party traverses the first mile they come across regular patches of the Faerzress. At one stage during the second mile they come across a narrow - 20' cavern - that stretches off into the darkness on either side of the path they are following. Then
during the third mile as the party is making its way through a narrow tubular passageway, there is a sudden tremor and parts of the ceiling fall on the party Turvey (DC13 - Dex) - 16 Prince Derendil (DC13 - Dex) - 5 Jimjar Gemfinger (DC13 - Dex) - 14 Izzrak Aleth (DC10 - Dex) - 13 Sarith (DC13 - Dex) - 6 Six of Eight (DC13 - Dex) - 20 Eldrik Feldrun (DC13 - Dex) - 15 Shushar the Awakened (DC13 - Dex) - 17 Sebastian (DC13 - Dex) - 8 Topsy (DC13 - Dex) - 22 Ront (DC13 - Dex) - 18
The party members frantically try and dodge the bits of falling ceiling but Turvey, Sebastian and xxx are unable to do so successfully and each takes 5HP of bludgeoning damage. As the party - coughing and spluttering checks each other over, Turvey calls out 'the passage is blocked!" there is then a string of curses in Orcish and Ront calls out "same at this end" Izzraak then chimes "but a new passageway seems to have opened up here?" The passageway that he is referring to runs to the east when the party had been trying to track to the northwest.
Topsy asks Ront at one point during a particularly loud complaint, "Were you in the Underdark when you were taken captive?"
The orc grunts, taken aback that the little creature would actually speak to him. "Well, you see, I fell down a shaft into this cursed land beneath the land while my tribe was fighting a bunch of those bearded moles you call dwarves. Wandered around for days trying to get back to the surface before I was overwhelmed by drow slavers. I got most of them, but not all, and one got a lucky blow to the back of my head. Next I know I'm in chains and in the pens with you lot."
Coming back to the group after investigating the caved-in entrance, Ront looks at the new crack and says, "Looks like we're taking a detour. I can't wait to get my hands on some meat and feel the wind in my mane!"
Topsy can't help but grin at Ront's comparison between dwarves and bearded moles. "I suppose you'd like to get back to the surface, then. Perhaps they'll know a way once we get to where we're going."
When Turvy is caught by some falling rock, Topsy fusses over him. "You need to watch yourself more closely," she says, teasing more than chiding him. "First you almost fall off a cliff, then you almost get knocked out by a cave-in." Turvy grumbles at his sister's attentions and tries to downplay his injury.
As the party is deciding what to do Shushar checks out each of the injured party members - each time he says "Vah jo peedit hai bathe this person in your healing warmth" some of the party members bruises and cuts start to fade away (each party member is healed for 3 HP)
Topsy breathes a breath of delight at the sight of her brother's healing. "Thank you, Shushar. And thank Vah jo peedit hai."
Turvy seems thankful, though he lets his sister be the one to express it. "Since there's only the one way to go, should we continue on?" he asks. "I don't think we want to backtrack."
A different direction ... (10.00 am - Day 3 - Third ten-day - Alturiak (Winter claw)
The first thing that the party notices is that the air is both stale and thin. The second thing they notice is that the tunnel they were following is blocked at both ends; furthermore trying to excavate either end looks like it would just precipitate another rockfall. Left with little choice the party moves off into the chamber.
The question is which way do they go when they reach the passageway on the other side.
Izzrak closes his eyes and says a brief prayer, hoping to receive some sort of guidance from Mystra, but doesn't seem to receive the clarity he expected. After a frustrated noise, he says, bitterly, "North is fine."
Turvey, Derendil, Jimjar and Izzrak lead - in single file - the party up the northern passageway. After about two rounds they reach what looks like a dead-end (see map). As they and the others spread out to check the wall they realise it is covered in some sort of grey slimy substance that is moving towards them.

"The walls appear to be flowing towards us..." Six says to the group. "This is most unusual and requires further investigation. But from a safe distance, of course." He twists the metal circle surrounding the gem in his chest, and a flame-like radiance erupts on the slimy substance! "Interesting..."

Izzrak instinctively reaches a hand in the direction of the slime, as a wave of energy ripples toward the creature, visible only due to the way that it refracts the light as it travels, much like the air around a metal surface is distorted on a particularly hot day.
Attack (Eldritch Blast): 16 Damage: 6
Jimjar, lacking any weapons or magic and not particularly adept in hand-to-hand combat, scurries past the creature, attempting to distract it, to the benefit of whoever might attack it next, and then bobs and weaves away.

Derendil snarls and prepares to slash at the slime if it gets close Ready
Attack: 14 Damage: 6
Eldrik chants a few words in dwarvish before gripping the manacle in one hand and darting towards the slime on the walls. His movements unnaturally fast, especially for an escaped prisoner Zephyr Strike.
He slashes and then uses his remaining movement to retreat from the wall.
Attack: 14 Damage: 9
From his experience in the underdark and the result of his attack, can Eldrik recognise what it is?
