Onyx shook his head. "No, I'm ready to head forward. But I'm still worried about that gem," he said. "I thought I felt it--stirring--last night, and frankly I'd like to be done with the thing before going to the next room. I'll go ahead and get rid of it now--it should only take a moment."
The warlock walked to a clear area of the floor, then knelt and pressed his hand to it. "I'll be able to hear you while inside my vessel, so if anything happens, just speak aloud and I'll rush back."
He closed his eyes and immediately vanished, his gold-and-onyx ring falling over onto the floor.
Arbon's eyes widen as he sees this for the first time. "I knew our bookish friend was adept with magic, but that is something else." He steps closer to inspect the ring, but not touching it, waving his hands around it to see if Onyx has just simply gone invisible. Not finding anything, he stands up and looks to the others, "We should keep watch just in case while he's gone. Hopefully he won't be too long." And with that Arbon keeps a close watch while they wait for Onyx to return.
A moment later, Onyx quietly reappeared out of thin air, right next to where he had vanished. He bent over to pickup his ring, then placed it back onto his finger as he looked toward the door. "I'm ready if you are," he said.

Grahl will sit down in the hallway as they rest, not saying much. From time to time looking towards the door ahead.
After a bit he will get up to walk into the room where he had first found the female oracle to get the key for Urithag. Since it is empty now he will try and look around to see if he finds anything of use.
(ooc i think we checked 3 out of the 4 rooms right? and the 5th door is the main exit door?)
Grahl walks back into the room the Purple Hag ran out of.
In the room you find the same countertop, cabinets, stove, and post that previously held the key. There's some sense of ritual about this place, as things are kept in surprisingly good order. Herbs tied in bundles, jarred liquids properly sealed, various dusts and powers contained beneath soft cloth to allow smell but not accidental dispersal. An alchemists, or any savvy in herbalism, dream. In and about the stove lie a pot, kettle, and, fire place set that is crude but well maintained. There is a liquid in the pot, it smells appealing, though the dim light in the room prevents proper visuals.
Underneath the stove, you acquire a small...box? Upon further inspection, you find its only the shape of a box.
its actually a solid bar of gold, with a thin in in the middle for handling. (Grahl gains a single 27lbs. of pure gold ingot)
You have a sense this gold was collected from "duties" as an oracle or some other craft regarding the previously found alchemical marvels. A "life savings" of sorts.
Arbon moves across to the stables door, but doesn't enter. "How did you go Grahl? Did you find anything?" he calls out to the half-orc. "Should we take care of these flesh-eating goats before we proceed? They seem quite unnatural, almost like whatever is down here has corrupted them."
"I completely forgot about them!" said Onyx. He cringed a bit... he could put down an animal if it came to it, but the idea of doing so right after all that had happened lately left a bad taste in his mouth. Still...
"Thing is, gentlemen... even if they're not evil, if we just leave them down here they'll starve. So unless we're going to take them with us...." He left the conclusion unspoken.
"I'm really not liking this place," he thought to himself.
Arbon shakes his head, "I'm not for taking the creatures with us. Whatever evil permeates this place has tainted them also. We're better to put them down than take them with us."
Arbon hangs his head a moment, then swings open the door to the stable, mace and shield at the ready. "Let's just get this over with before we must face our fates."
Onyx placed a hand on Arbon's shoulder. "It may not be any more humane, but we should probably stand back and use magic. It's safer and... cleaner. We can burn the bodies after, and I'll clean up what's left."
He sighed as he raised a hand.
(( Unless Arbon insists on using a mace, Onyx will simply keep using Eldritch Blast alongside whatever cantrip Arbon uses. ))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Once the goats are dealt with, Arbon turns to Grahl. "That could be quite handy later on, whether you want to barter with it or we melt it down to make something. I'm inclined to agree about the potions, unless Chazrael or Onyx has any ideas on potion-making and can identify them?" He will then search the stalls for any remains of other prisoners, things of value or clues as to what is going on here (Investigation: 12).
Onyx and Arbon go about slaying the goats as they rest in their stalls. Their bulging stomachs full of their fallen comrade, they barley notice.
Reaching the end of the stables, you can see the remains of said corpse.
Arbon, after the fires and eldritch magics, notices that there are spider webs, black, thick, and fire resistant, webbed crossed the top of each stable. The inhabitants, apparently, were not so durable, perishing in the smoke from the flames. Their bodies have quickly rotted and melted against the webs, and it becomes clear that this corruption has a strengthening effect on some objects, and a weakening effect on others.
Across the room, the first stable that was entered there is a slopping plop onto the floor, loud. Then the second, third, and following to the final stall where Arbon is currently inspecting and he jumps back in time to see the webs fall like icicles in a glacial cavern experience an earthquake. It shatters when it hits the floor, and turns to dust.
The entire room now smells of burning goat hair and rotting wood.
Arbon, after the spiderwebs fall,
You can see that one of the spiderwebs once covered a hole in the roof, revealing a hidden entrance. If you could somehow get to it, perhaps there's something in there...
...Its about the size of a bowling ball, large enough to house a sizeable treasure, and given the recent discovery, perhaps it warrants further investigation?
Chazrael, once the spiderwebs fall,
The Owl makes you aware of Arbon's spoiler, it recognizes the opening but seems unwilling to ascend to the area on its own.
Arbon looks around for some climbing implement. "Do any of you have a way of getting up there," he points to the hole in the ceiling. "Failing that, I could take some time to make a ladder. But I'd be interested to see what's up there."
(OOC - Thinking of making a ladder. It would use my Channel Divinity: Artisan's Blessing. 1 hour to make something with metal in it that costs no more than 100gp.)
Onyx blinked at the gold bar Grahl found, then smiled and shook his head as he tucked it away. "Well, guess we weren't as thorough with our search as we thought! Hmm, that makes me wonder..."
The warlock went into the room the warrior had come from, and began examining the different potions, carefully testing each one by dipping his finger in and then to his tongue (before spitting it out.)
"Do any of you have a way of getting up there," he points to the hole in the ceiling. "Failing that, I could take some time to make a ladder. But I'd be interested to see what's up there."
Onyx peeked his head back out and looked across to the other room. "Is that a hole in the ceiling? Wow, we have been pretty distracted! I've got some rope left, but no grappling hook or anything to secure it up top, sadly."
Onyx shook his head. "No, I'm ready to head forward. But I'm still worried about that gem," he said. "I thought I felt it--stirring--last night, and frankly I'd like to be done with the thing before going to the next room. I'll go ahead and get rid of it now--it should only take a moment."

Arbon goes to move forward still, but stops as he thinks over Onyx' suggestion. He nods, silently, and will use sacred flame on the creatures as well.
Chazrael will move forward and knock an arrow and fire it at the creatures that attack them.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Grahl responds to Arbon about what he found. Grahl find gold box. he lifts it up to show it before tucking it into his bag again.
Potions too but Grahl no trust witch potions.
As the others move to kill the goats Grahl will stand near the door to watch, not finding the need to go help yet.

(DM Question - how high up is the roof, and therefore the hole?)
(The stalls are about 8 feet so its just under that, maybe 7 and a half.)
