After a bit of time passes, Kierro whispers something to Chysen, and the gold dragon hurries out of the tavern. The aasimar responds to Honor and the others:
"I have magic for detecting lies. If we find Esmerelda we can try that. Keyword if; I'm not sure where they've gone off to or how they hid. They could be miles away already."
"...on second thought, they might be on the southern island where the dungeon is, concealing themselves somehow. She and her husband seemed adamant about going in there.. Perhaps we'll find them near there when we venture in. Are we all ready for it?"
Piazet would inform Latrius of Chysen approaching the castle. The gold dragon soars down, reverting to his human form.
"Sir, Master Kierro and the others are gathering before we leave for Hoondarrh's island. He requests that you two join us."
"You might also want to know - Lady Esmerelda and her husband have disappeared. In related news, a prominent ship captain was murdered by a dragon last night, and a note was left on the body."
Chysen describes the incident further if asked, then accompanies him back down to the city.
“I am ready for the dungeon, but one more question, do we take the dragons with us inside, or do we ask them to guard the entrance in case the red shows up?” Nadariel asks.
“It would be good to have them with us I’m sure,”Leto says. “We can likely sense if the Red approaches, unless his cave goes quite deep.”He then looks up and his imp companion suddenly appears in the air giggling. “Though if you’re really worried I can always leave Hulud outside to keep watch.”
"Why am I not surprised . . .very well. Piazet, Nambunth—one of you should stay here to guard the castle. I leave who up to you. Leon (assuming he’s here), your choice whether you come or stay."

After hearing about the dead captain, and finding Esmerelda and Roberto gone, the group gathers together, with Latrius being brought down from the flying castle to join in. Soon you are all on the way to the grotto the maps all over town indicate is the only entrance into the dragon's dungeon. It is also fairly common knowledge, around the island, that the dragon's lair is up in the mountain's peak, while, when you arrive at the grotto, you all sense your item that is pulling you downward. Talking among yourself you feel them from different positions, as if they are spread out in the dungeon below you. Universally though all of the items are down lower in the dungeon, none coming from the level you are currently on.
In the stone of the mountainside you see an archway, covered with magical runes. It appears to be the only way forward.
Do you all have your 100 GP item or coin for going through the archway?
Kierro and Chysen have their own small pouches with the coin needed for entry, and the gold dragon volunteers to provide for those who don't have enough coin as well. Sensing the items, he checks with everyone, making sure they're ready as well.
"We'll have to make sure everyone gets what they're looking for before we head out, and stick together as much as possible. Shall I lead us in?"
Nadariel and his dragon are ready. For most of you it is the first time seeing Iveodaenth for longer. You may have seen her arriving on the ship with Nadariel, but afterwards she was usually following in some distance and you only sensed her presence.
Nadariel has a small purse with the gold ready for both of them.

A large burly man is currently moving about in front of the entrance with a bandana wrapped around his head. His broad hairy chest is bared to all as every button on his shirt is unbuttoned and the sleeves are rolled up to the elbow. He is wearing a golden amulet that is clearly visible on the center of his chest, and is carrying a glowing and serrated pink machete. He appears to be swinging his sword in some practiced motions, and, for his size, seems exceptionally light on his feet. As he prances back and forth, you can also tell that his hair is slightly graying, although his movements don't seem to betray any semblance of the weariness that can sometimes come with aging. Other than those features, he appears to be an ordinary human in almost every sense of the word.
His face is curled into an expression of concentration, and he seems to be too focused on his motions until you step up. When the group gets closer, he pauses and glances up at them. Stopping his movements, he calls out in a gruff and gravelly voice, "You lot here fer the dungeon?" His accent is almost Texan as he speaks with a bit of a drawl and there is a casual tone to both his words and his body language. He glances at each member of the group including the dragons and appears to be sizing them up. Once he has done so, he waves his arm with a flourish and the pink blade vanishes. He then walks over to Kierro and extends his arm, "Name's Raskal. Y'all look a bit more prepared to take on this place than the average adventurin' group." Looking around at the others he says, "Any reason in specific y'all folks choosin' to come down here? Or just my luck that a friggin army shows up to steal mah loot."

(Pink machete is your soulknife? I love it. Good flavor. I have a genasi soulknife that I'm starting on and he's looking to be pretty awesome)
Kierro glances up at the man, his sky blue eyes gazing over him warmly yet seriously. He raises his own hand to meet the stranger's, shaking his hand and bowing his head politely with a smile. "My name is Kierro. You seem adequately prepared yourself, friend."
"There happens to be certain treasures within the dungeon that happen to belong to us - long story, that - and we're here to retrieve them. I'm sure that there's plenty of loot within the place - enough for everyone, Mister Raskal."
(OOC: Raskal's soulknife is a pink machete... I have a different soul knife manifestation based on which changeling form Ing is in 😉 (You didn't get to see Esmeralda's though) ... Soulknife is really fun, I'm also dying to try out the psionic fighter)
A bushy eyebrow is raised when Kierro mentions that there are treasures that belong to them within the dungeon, but Raskal doesn't ask questions. A nebulous grunt is his only response when Kierro mentions there being enough loot for everyone, but his eyes glance greedily into the mountain.

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Nadariel merrily approaches Kierro who is talking with a stranger. He is singing a little tune in Zemnian and waving his fingers in tune as if conducting an imaginary choir.
“Ein Männlein steht vorm Dungeon ganz still und stumm, es hat aus lauter purpur ein Mäntlein um. Sag wer mag das Männlein sein, das da steht so ganz allein...“
Nadariel pats Kierro on the shoulder: „Who is your new friend here? I‘ll trust your insight friend, that you don‘t get tricked by strangers, ok...“
And i cast Enhance Ability (advantage on Wisdom checks and saves) on Kierro. On top i give him a Bardic Inspiration (d8).
Telepathic I will also ask Iveodaenth to keep an eye on Kierro, to guidance him and to give him a little stary boost when needed.
Leto reaches into the pouch beneath his robes and hands a gem to Morgan, one to Saint, and palms one for himself for the entrance. He then looks to the newcomer as he judges, well, everyone really, but especially this new ‘treasure hunter’. Having been with the other Dragonlords this long, he can recognize that, some at least, seem suspicious, so he keeps his sharp insight out for anything unusual.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Ha!" Raskal exclaims, "Mah life's story 's a long one, so I won't bore ya with the tale." He glances back up into the mountain, "I only got here recently, but when I done heard of the dragon's challenge, it seemed an interestin' way to test my skills an' make sum gold." Seeing the clear distrust in the others, Raskal takes a few steps back and puts his hands up. "I don' mean to be no trouble to y'all folk and it's right clear that y'all don' trust me, so I'd best be goin' now." He starts backing away but gives Kierro a bow before he does. As he bows, his face is plastered with a cocky somewhat mocking grin and he shakes his head as he leaves, "Y'all formal folk prolly don' be makin' many friends thisaway, but whaddo I know." As he turns around and is about to pass through the archway, he reaches into a pouch at his side and pulls out 10 PP. Turning back to the group one last time he says, "Good luck findin' y'all's stuff. Maybe we'll see each other on the inside, but if not, then here's sum advice. Don't die." He laughs loudly at his own joke as he takes a step back through the magical archway.
