Vilana returned to her sit quiet and collected. "I thinks it's my time to visit the washing room" glanced she at Silcan (all she needed is to quietly cast Mage Armor using book's binding as a missing material component and rearrange money she had). When Vilana returned, she did not smile anymore but studied Tessa with a cool calculating look in her eyes. "As my partner said - we are in the same situation here. But our recent exchange showed we are quite different. As much as I want to know why someone or something was after all of us, I do not see us working together." She maintained eye contact and was talking in the same cool even voice. "Still, I want you to have some options if that places you mentioned do not pay up right away. Here," Vilana showed a pouch to Tessa, "the gold I found in the place where I was left naked and unconscious, just like you. Take it. Consider it a payment for information - now I know there are more of us, and all for some reason are here, as you called it - a fleaspeck of a town. Wish you luck in your job searching and if you see another one of us - whoever "we" are - have a mercy on him."
She enters Walter's home, trying to hold back any statements about the meager way of life of the common folk, as Walter is currently an asset and has proven to be a loyal servant thus far. She looks for the closet to find something more suitable than the tunic to wear in the interim. "You're correct, it's not good enough, but it's good that you recognize that. No matter. This is just temporary."
After selecting something more suitable (Common Clothes or Travelers Clothes most likely), given that he is unlikely to have anything she fancies more in his closet, Mylene asks, "Does this town have a cleric or priest of any kind? Maybe they'll have some answers as to what left me waylaid me out in the woods. Or, and maybe even answers about your missing friend, the big fellow. If not a priest, perhaps some local authority might be a good source of information? Do towns this small have a 'town hall'? Like the nicest barn or something?"
(Re-posted as the earlier attempt was in a weird tiny-font format.)
Tessa eyes the pouch where the female half-elf placed it on the table. She looks at the pouch a few moments in reflection. Her body has a slight tremor. She finally looks at the two across the table from her. "I see. Did you wake up alone, nude, stripped of all knowledge of yourself? It is enough to drive a person mad! Mad, I say. I have stolen. I have killed. I know it. I may not remember when, where, or to whom; but I know it. Not anyone who probably didn't deserve it for something or another, I'm sure." She observes the comraderie between the two, already relevent in their posture together and the male elf's reaction to her outburst. They are not alone. She'll be damned if she is left alone cast adrift in this world alone with unanswered questions. She will burn the inn, even the whole damn town down fore that happened. They have knowledge. She would have that knowledge or see them dead first. "Or did you two awaken together? How do you know each other? You seem quite comfortable with one another. This one would have bled for you. That does not speak of recent meeting of one another. What do you know? What do you recall of yourselves?" As she speaks Tessa's speach grows more impassioned and her eyes radiate mania as she struggles to reign in her baser instincts, which are screaming to bury her blade in the woman's eye.
Vilana honestly hoped Tessa's mistrust will force her to search more agreeable prey, but mad halfling wanted to talk. "Neither of us knows anything more than you - who we are, why are we here, how did we get here, or even what that "here" is - did not have a chance to ask around. I feel for you, how that revelation affected you - I truly do," and if Tessa trying to read Vilana, she would get nothing but the radiating truth, "but you managed well enough on your own before we met. May be this is who you are? A capable solo player, mistrustful of others? Then you might find the answers before any of us will. We met, you gave us some information, got money for it, and now can continue with that information in mind. Not the worst outcome, considering the situation." Vilana was looking with the same calming cool expression and talking with the most convincing even voice. "I was - and is - honest and open with you. I wish I could say more. Who knows, we might meet again one day when I will be able to do just that. But right now this is all we can give each other."
Tessa reaches for the pouch. She ties it her belt opposite of the dagger. She nods at the female half-elf, committing her face to memory. She notes her rather dark skin with its greyish hue, nearly white blonde hair, silver eyes, and slight elven features. She nods at the male elf; but her departing look at him lacks the intensity that her look at the female half-elf carried.
As she moves to leave the table, she turns back a final time. She stares at the female half-elf with a glare that would cow a lesser individual. She says, "Until our paths cross again. Be safe, lady. I would not see any harm befall you..."
"Well, suitable clothing I would say is not what I have." Walter says with a frown. "I have more of my own clothes, that's about it." He leads you past the two shops, then turns down a side path, eventually stopping at a small cottage. It was a bit cobbled together, with clearly cast-off parts used to construct much of it, but it looked sturdy enough. Opening the door Walter nodded towards it. "It is not good enough for the likes of you, but it is all I have..."

"Yes, we have both." Walter confirms. "We have a shrine to the lady of luck and a town hall, plus an inn." He shrugs. 'Which would you like to go to first?"
As Tessa gets up to leave the table the innkeep comes over, his staff not wishing to come close to the table where daggers had been drawn. He pauses as Tessa starts to leave the table, then approaches once she has left.
"Sorry for whatever that was..." The innkeep says with a frown after the departing halfling. "She seemed fine when I was speaking to her earlier..." He shrugs. "Can I get you anything?"
As you head down the road out of town, and continue moving along it, Latrious is the first to spot a group of hobgoblins on the road ahead of you. There are 5 of them.
They have clearly heard the others of your group, but seem not to have noticed you. They look to be preparing to ambush the others.
Tessa moves down the road towards the Lionshield Costar. She pauses long enough to count the coins in the purse that Vilana gave her. She whistles a tune as she makes her way down the road towards the mercantile shop.
Latrius's breath hisses through his teeth as he notices the ambush. A slow smile starts to spread on his face as he watches the would-be ambushers prepare.
"Who shall ambush the ambushers, hmm?" he mutters to himself.

Latrius watches from the bushes for a split second longer, then comes to a decision.
He turns around, and swiftly creeps back to his companions. He pops out from the bushes, makes eye contact with one of the party, and simply holds up five fingers. He then melts away back into the brush to prepare his own ambush.

Kierro raises his shield and moves slightly forward of Naivara. He does not, however, appear to be armed, except with a dagger that he hasn’t drawn. Instead, the free hand by his side ripples with a pulsing light.
”If there’s something attacking us, they might be guarding the supplies they stole. We might be close.”
“I suppose the shrine to the Lady Luck would be the best place for me to start, although it’s a weak woman who relies on chance to see her through in this world,” Mylene says.
She will head to the shrine of the luck goddess, looking for any clergy there to consult with about her condition.
OOC: If she feels any instructive pull towards any other part of town she might choose otherwise, but based on the vague “remember how the world works but no specifics and no personal history” style amnesia she is consulting the setting appropriate equivalent of a doctor.
"Something to eat, please," nodded Vilana, "and some information about your lovely town, if you do not mind."
While innkeeper was organizing food and drinks, Vilana finally allowed herself to relax after the dealing with the halfling, and gave Sylcan her most warm and playful smile: "Good reaction, quick thinking and chivalry. I think I really like you." "Truly, thank you. I must have been not really good at what I did if I did not pick up right away what kind of crazy she was. My bad. She will be back, but not instant. Still, might be safer to leave this town as soon as possible. On the bright side, it was not a complete disaster - we learned that there are more of us suffering from ... our problem. Come to think of it, that man outside, that was asking about directions, can be one as well. Do they have an asylum here and just decided to open it up and let every patient go? And we are one of those? Agh! My head hurts to think about all this problems on an empty stomach."
(Questions to the Innkeeper, when he comes: What is this city? Are there any big temples or mage tower of a powerful mage around? What is the closest city? Is it possible to rent a horse or a wagon and hire someone to get us to that big city?)
Shaking his head, Sylcan said, "Don't thank me. I was only able to react as she drew her dagger." Pausing for a second, he continued speaking, "Maybe you are right - it would be better to leave this village quickly. However, before that, I would like to visit a shop - first, to purchase new clothing for ourselves," while saying this, Sylcan pointedly looks at her ill-fitting robe, that simply covered her body, although not very well and was, well, a bit distracting, "and second, to learn what the value of supplies are here. Afterwards, I'll leave the decision up to you - I don't wish to be a leader."
