"The robbers, that can freely take what they want from a mayor and the sheriff of the town, sound more like the owners of the town to me. Just saying." Vilana looked at the direction everyone was moving: "Does it mean we are going to meat those owners soon? They might even have those things, that call to us. Would be quite an inconvenience".
"The Redbrands, as they call themselves, are a band of thugs that have been making themselves known around Phandalin." Higgul says with a nod. "They have been harassing townsfolk, and making people scared to walk outside when they are about. The town was suppose to get a new sheriff recently, but he never showed and was probably waylaid like many of the supplies have been. The old sheriff won't do anything about the Redbrands as he is too afraid of them."
The group hears the horses as they travel down the road ahead, but, after only a bit they pause and the hooves go silent for a bit. You would guess it is about the time they would have caught up with Milene and Walter. Not too long after that the hooves start up again, growing more and more distant.
If anyone is tracking you can give me a survival check as you reach the area where the horses stopped near Milene and walter.
Once back on the road, now with Walter behind you on the horse, and holding on quite tightly, you make good time to the road that leads south to Old Owl Well. The others are waiting there, four more redcloaks and the three bugbears. They have an old donkey with them. After taking only a moment or two to gather, you head on down the road East, heading on towards the ruins of Conyberry.
As you continue to hike Westward you travel along a well-used road with forest to either side. To the south is a mountain peek that stands out in the area, a bit apart from the mountain ranges further afield. At times you swear you can smell the scent of woodsmoke, but don't see where it might be coming from, other than some sort of camp up on that mountain, though no plume of smoke is visible.
After a bit of a walk you hear the sounds of hooves on the road ahead of you, coming closer. what do you do?
While riding east with the others, she continues to remain cognizant of the mental pull, confirming that it is further east, and encourages the others to continue making good time. “A bit before you all arrived, I heard some noise,” Mylene asks. “What was that all about?”

"Nonetheless, Tessa. Please refrain from doing so in the future. It'll save as all a lot of trouble and fast talking if you don't randomly attack people."

"Just some beggars on the road, nothing more." The grizzled vet says with a shrug. "Nothing to worry yourself about."
Kierro looks dismayed as Higgul tells of the redbrands. "The townspeople don't deserve that; they were nice to us when they found us yesterday. Is there anything that the redbrands rely on that we can cut off from them, or any other way to stop them that you know of, Higgul? There has to be something we can do to help.
Surely, the sudden appearance of eight capable fighters in the town throws a wrench into their plans. I'm not saying it's the reason that we were brought to this town, but it's an opportunity that we can't waste!"

She tosses her hair, and seems content to leave it at that. “Very good, then. Let’s press on further east, that’s where I am feeling the calling from, still.”
Milene continues down the road, the pull getting closer much faster than expected. Soon you swear you are right atop it. She spots a figure hunched in the bushes near the road, the pull drawing her straight towards it. The figure wears silvery half-plate armor, has a longsword and a shortbow, though no arrows for some reason. It wears a cloak over the armor. As Milene draws closer to the figure she sees the image from her previous memory in flesh.
Leto hears the approach of hooves, and, shortly, four mounted riders come around the bend. They have an additional 4 humans and 3 bugbears walking with them. One of the walking humans is leading a donkey for some reason.

On the warhorse is a beautiful human noble woman, with a man riding behind her in the saddle. The woman stairs straight at Leto, angling her horse in his direction.
I rolled as if we are still in a forest, subtract 2 from the total if we haven't
As you move along the road you come to where the horses seem to have stopped near two people on foot. There is no sign of a fight, but no human tracks lead on from here, and two of the mounts seem to be bearing heavier loads.

Seeing that he's clearly not hidden, Leto* steps out into the path, assess the group, and says "Hail travelers! From where are you headed?"
Leto is a tall, thin, purple tiefling. Curved horns around 3/4 of a circle. His skin is a bit more scaly, and his overall appearance tends more demonic than most tieflings on the human ---- demon scale. Pure silver eyes, a well kept beard braided into two (though starting to fray a bit as he hasn't been able to take care of himself recently), and long hair pulled back (also less well kept than he'd like it). He also has a mark/tattoo/burn going down his right arm in the shape of a great wyrm ending on the back of his hand - you can see the hand part at least, maybe not how far up the arm it goes (most of the way). He's currently carrying a lot of things, and almost looks uncomfortable with their weight. Most of the items are in amazing condition.
Recognizing the tiefling man, Mylene wordlessly dismounts, giving the Redbrands a simple instruction of, “Hold here, I would have words with this man. I believe he is one... like me.”
She holds out a gloved hand palm out, in a non-threatening gesture, and speaks to him. “You there, tiefling fellow. Do you recognize me? I believe we knew each other in the past.”

Letopauses for a second before returning the handshake, and carefully chooses his words (wanting to hide his lack of memory, but this person seems to know more than he does, perhaps even about his own situation), replying "I... do not. I am sorry. My name is Leto Atreus. You are?" He then looks to the rest of the group to see if they have any reaction to him, ((assuming he recognizes the Redbrand insignias from death #1: insight 24))
"Huh..."Naivara tells everyone what she found out. "Maybe they were picking people up... I doubt that Mylene would have allowed herself to be taken willingly..."
”My name is Mylene Durza. These men are my associates, the Redbrands. I believe you might be one like me. There are others as well - several of us who awoke with no clothes, and no memories of our own personal history. Does this sound familiar?” Mylene asks Leto.
"I see." Leto replies, nodding, but not volunteering information he continues "Can I ask from where you remember me? Also, how do you know these Redbrands?" He's clearly as curious about the lack of history, as he is about the Redbrands.
