"Ya well," Naivara says, "I think she's misunderstood why we're not willing to jump straight into remebering who we are... so... I don't know... she seems kind of arrogant... that's rude... overzealous?"
Upon noticing the halfling's look and comment, Sylcan looks away. "Tch - it wasn't my fault." Annoyed now, Sylcan says to the rest of the group, "Whatever, we just need to continue and find what's ours. If she won't part with them, we'll figure out what to do then."
"Let's hope it doesn't come to that," Naivara says, looking to the group, "maybe... we should... I don't know... extend an olive branch. Because this is an odd occurrence, and something that I want to figure out. I just... think that following her orders we'll find out about her past and then she'll just dump us somewhere... maybe if we can get her to agree that we have to figure out about all of us... just a thought..."
"I think she'll only be able to find that piece that belongs to herself,"Honor says. "When I felt the pull to my shield, Latrius and Naivara did not, even though they were with me. If there is more, I cannot agree to work with that woman -- she assumed that we were her inferiors, and that we should enjoy her demeaning attitude. Not to mention that she tried to take credit for the work of those of us who actually captured the hobgoblins. I'd be surprised if the bandits tolerate her attitude for long."
"I get that... I don't want to work with her either..."Naivara says, "but... I think it would be easier if all of us were working together... you know? Maybe I'm just being crazy..."
”See, that’s the thing. We work with her and we all have to watch our backs even more than we are now," he glances pointedly at Tessa. "I don’t doubt that she wouldn’t hesitate to stick the knife in."

"You can only work with people whose end goals align with yours, who you trust to fulfill their end of a bargain. I don't trust what her end goals may be, or what she might do to complete them. If she hires bandits to steal all these items we're trying to find, that doesn't look good on her, or anyone associated with her. Sometimes you have to let some things slide for a larger goal, yes, but I don't think we're at that point right now."
Tessa pauses in her march, "That is good to know. So each of us is drawn to items that are particular to us. So if she found one of our items, we could track her down like a dog?!" As she is speaking, her eyes begin to shine with excitement. She rubs her hands together and issues a low chuckle.
"While it's true that some of us might not be able to be trusted completely, I do feel that what we have now is pretty good. We generally trust each other and we all seem capable enough to defend ourselves. Regardless of what Mylene does, I'm confident we'll be able to find the things that pull us and protect one another if that's what it takes to get them." Kierro says. "It definitely gives me ease in this troubling time."
"I don't think she could find an item that belongs to someone other than herself except by accident. But I could be wrong. We don't know why this is happening, so the pull could be to something else this time. A place, or a singular item -- we didn't feel two conflicting pulls when we were in town, this new pull only appeared after the first pull resolved." Well, mostly. Honor sends a glance over to her shield.
To be honest you had already touched the shield before you met up with latrious and the others. The shield no longer pulls at you any longer. It still would feel like yours, but not have the pull at you as it had before. In game terms the soul shard in the item has already transferred to you. the shield is just a shield, though magical in nature.
That... was a very smart observation from the little halfling. "Good thinking, Tess," could not help it but to smile Vilana. "And track we will. But the supposed thugs around remain a problem. I, for once, really enjoy our safety in numbers and judging by the direction of the pull - our goals are quite aligned for the time being."
Recognizing the feeling, the pull, seems centered on the pouch, she points to it. “Leto, can you show me what is in that pouch? I wonder if the pull isn’t further to the eastern ruins but here, to you.”
She glances about the area, putting a finger to her lips. “The others felt the calling as well. Perhaps we’re drawn to each other. That certainly supports my original theory that these people were my entourage and we were all mind wiped together. We need to keep this situation from spiraling into chaos, and a strong hand guiding it is what’s needed. Together with the Redbrands we can perhaps do just that.”
”Some of them likely believed it was more of their possessions containing more of their memories. That’s fine, but I can’t account for these people being remotely willing to follow basic orders and exhibit reason. Consider, if these objects contain our memories, we may have to be extremely careful that only the one with the ‘bond’ with the item reclaims it. We have yet to find out what happens if the wrong person, the wrong one of our kind at least, is the first to contact one of these memory items.”
”Some of the others are determined to act illogically for the sake of childish rebellion. Absent their memories they’ve returned to the mindset of rebellious teenagers, a few at least. Imagine if they start getting all of their memories confused out of immature whims. Why, my man at arms could get the memories of my maidservant, my master of secrets could get the memories of my stable-master - it would be a mess. If we find any strange magic items be very careful only to touch those that resonate with you, personally, or you could have your mind flooded with memories of some indentured servant who would prefer to forget their debts and live carefree. I want things restored in their proper order, and vengeance on the person who orchestrated all this. We will only accomplish that if the others can either be persuaded to follow my orders, or get out of the way.”
It is the bag itself, the pouch, that is what pulls you, not the content of the item. You feel that pouch belongs to you, that it is yours.
Mylene - Leto
She raises an eyebrow, staring longer at the pouch. “Not the contents, the bag itself. It was mine once, like the bracers. I’d like to test that theory. Hand me the pouch Leto... please.”
Her newfound politeness is in part a result of being rebuffed by the other Erased, but also her prior memories of Leto. She believes he may have been something closer to an equal, while the others were their servants or underlings. Even if he was just a handsome soldier she had decided to bed on a whim, she cannot deny that she has, or had, feelings for the man, so she treats him with a bit more deference than the others.
Leto listens to Mylene's thoughts concerning the items, and looks down to what he is wearing. Overall this woman seems trustworthy, and they seem to have a common goal. Though this pouch is easily magical, it doesn't give him any specific power; and, looking to her guards again, if she demanded it he would have little chance against this troupe. Reaching down to untie it from his belt he says "I think I know what you mean about a pull towards specific items. And they do seem to impart memories. Perhaps these are artifacts that we had in our 'previous' lives. When I awoke in the ruins behind me I felt many similar, but different pulls, as well."Handing the pouch over he continues "Touching this cloak flashed the memory of this Honor person you know of. But some of these other items..." reaching down to put a hand on the hilt of the sword at his side"...pulled to me, and in a way that told me they were powerful, but not mine in the same way."
Seeing the way she seemed drawn to him, though he'd attempted to hide, and the way her eyes had almost instinctively gone to the pouch at his side, he hazards a thought"I do not believe touching other's objects is dangerous. However, it seems likely that the others you speak of may be drawn to them in the same way that you were drawn to that..."He ends on that line to see what conclusions she will draw, and curious to see her goal now that she has what she was seeking.
