OOC: Before we rest...who needs healing....?  With Abz (lay on hands + 1st level spell slot to use) our only healer I imagine that we will all have to use some HD recovery HP as well....

(OOC - if we're long resting, there's no need for healing.)

I layed out the coming encounters before hand with varying numbers of PC's, so I'm using the ones that are best suited for 4 characters of level 3 (currently). If you would like to find some more PC's I'd be fine with that, I could reopen recruiting for one or two more characters.

OOC: I am good either way....will just need to stock up on healing potions given that Abz is the only one with healing magic.....

OOC: If you want to roleplay the visit to the stall selling potions let me know, otherwise if you can post quantity of healing and other potions that they have and the full price we can consider how to spend the gold that Hallowgazer gave us....

OOC: Also - confession to make - I deliberately did not explicitly post that I handed that tome of spells back to Hallowgazer, so not sure if you allow that or would rule that he would have not let us leave with those artefacts.....

Felwin leads you to the market stalls, and you quickly spot the merchant you saw before with the potions. It seems his stock has dwindled in the time you have been away, and he only has 5 on display.

Thorin pipes up to the group, "Do ya mind if I grab one o' them healin' potions? I'll try no ta get hit, but bein' up close an' personal with 'em makes it inevitable." He riffles through his coin pouch for the gold needed.

Before Thorin can extract any coins, Grix adds "Good sir,  you have a fine array of wares on display, and no doubt the quality is excellent - what price are you asking for these potions?"

Whatever the price, Grix then goes on to ask "And what discount might you offer if we were to purchase all of your remaining stock?" attempting to barter with the merchant to extract a lower fee.

Persuasion 18 and if one of the others can Help then extra roll for advantage is 13

OOC: As a group we should buy all 5....just trying to get the price down to save some gold - Grix would like 2 but will buy more if others are not interested, provided the 300 gold will be enough.....

"Well, I'd normally sell each of them for 50, but if you'll buy all of them I'll drop the price to, uh, 45!" The merchant says.

Trinity pulls out her 100 gold sets it down on the counter and asks "Is this what this is for?"

Thorin pulls out another 50gp to add to Trinity's, "Well Grix, I'd say that sounds al'ight ta me. Here's my contribution to the mix. Thank ya, shopkeep!"

Grix collects the coins from the others and adds the balance of 75GP and hands it to the merchant (total 225GP) then collects the potions, handing two to Trinity, one to Thorin and retains two for himself (Abz can resort to Lay on Hands I guess) "Thank you for your generosity, tell me, do you ever have, or know where we might be able to buy other items imbued with magic?"

If he is forthcoming Grixeor will just file that information away for a time when they have more coin to spend

"Right, I am for a bite to eat and then to get horizontal for a time before we head off with that mad mage"

OOC: If you are okay with it, shall we jump ahead 8 hours to after a long rest

Trinity gives Thorin one more potion.

Thorin takes the potion from Trinity, "Thank you my friend. This'll come in plenty handy. Though don't ya need it fer yerself?"

(OOC - I'm happy to do a jump forward after a long rest.)

"Well, there are a few shops in Frestinglade that might have those items, but not out here." The merchant says.

(I am also fine with jumping ahead of the long rest. We can also say that you all ate a days worth of rations and enough drink to sustain yourselves with no repercussions)

Upon waking up, you find Trajeon in the doorway to the guest beds. "Finally, you're all awake." He says. "Are we ready to get going, now that you've wasted half a day?"

"Wasted...? Ha! Tell me, have you served in a military before?" Abzerilan starts talking in a dark tone, "Have you waited for days on end for an attack that you know is coming, but just don't know when? Fighting a battle that is, in actuality, some lazy jerk's grievance against some other lazy jerk? That's wasting time."

"... And you're calling making sure we're hale and hearty wasting a half a day out of, what, eight days? Cute."

He suddenly changes tone to much more energetic, "Yeah, I think we're good to go!"
