Thorin shakes off the sensation of teleporting, gathering his senses. When he hears the roar and notices the wizard freeze, he quickly looks around to find what is making the noise (perception: 13).

Thorin thinks the noise is coming from a rather large volcano on the horizon. This one seems strangely inactive.

Thorin points across at the volcano. "Can't be certain, but I think the sound is comin' from that one."

"Then is that the direction we should go?”

"That doesn't look like any tower I've ever seen..."

"That's not the Tower Arcane, friend." Trajeon says. "The Tower Arcane is a building for yugoloths, specifically Arcanoloths. No, that volcano, I fear, is much worse." He says.

"I know I'm only inviting restless nights on myself, but... What's in that volcano?" Abzerilan says fighting - and losing - a battle against his own curiosity.

Another roar echoes across the desolate landscape, causing Trajeon to cringe. "If I'm not mistaken, which I hope I am, it's a Pyroclastic Dragon." He says, a grim look upon his face.

"Yeah, that sounds like a lot of fun... Too bad we're too busy to attend that party. Plane-hopping monsters to find, magical rods to retrieve and the fact a dragon that lives in a volcano in this blasted place does sound terrifying!"

"But listen to the roar. It sounds, sad, mournful. And the volcano appears inactive. Strange, don't you think? In this land of desolation, why would a volcano be dead? Something doesn't add up." Trajeon explains.

"Let's not wait to see if a dragon heads our way....we need to get moving.  Trajeon - where do we go from here......?"

Thorin looks between Grix and Trajeon, then listens to the sound. "Are ya sure 'bout that dragon bein' sad, wizard?" He then looks at the others, "It's a long shot, but do ya think that gettin' a dragon on our side might be worth it? If we can help it, might help us through... this." Thorin sweeps his arms to gesture at the hellscape around them.

"It certainly sounds like something is wrong with the dragon." Trajeon says. "He sounds pained, like something's bothering him. I would certainly agree that we could help him, and in turn get his, or her, help."

"I don't suppose a lot would make a dragon so indisposed? Then, I suppose we could try and find out what has happened. If it is in a mood to allow us to aid it, or at the very least, hear it out."

"Right then," Thorin gathers himself and makes sure he has everything on him, "Let's go chat with this dragon." He starts to walk in the direction of the sound and the dormant volcano, then stops and turns back to the others, "Might even find us some treasure. Dragons love ta hoard gold, or so I've heard."

"Mm, I would not recommend that." Trajeon says. "Pyroclastic dragons have the worst tempers. The only way I can explain it is by comparing them to a volcano. Too much pressure, and boom, they erupt. If my assessment is correct and he is sad, trying to take something he has gathered might cause too much stress for him, and then we could all be in great trouble."

"You should also refrain from talking about stealing in front of a champion of the dragon-god of justice. Especially when said champion has had negative interactions with thieves, himself. Just some friendly advice." Abzerilan says to Thorin with a hint of chagrin.

"Who said anythin' about stealin'? Just said we'd find some. 'Haps he might give us some as thanks," Thorin puts his hands up in a questioning shrug, "If the dragon no want ta help us, 'haps he's got some magical things he's found over the centuries, is all. The champion o' the dragon-god might want ta have a drink a water ta cool himself down in this heat. Especially before he throws 'round accusations o' theivin'." Thorin takes a drink from his ale, nods to everyone and turns to make his way towards the sound, stepping carefully as he goes and watching for any signs of trouble (perception: 16).

Grix just shakes his head "I don't believe I am doing this......" and stoically trudges off behind Thorin 

Due to the dangerous nature of the terrain, it takes nearly 2 hours to reach the volcano. Along the way, other strange noises joined the dragon's echoing roars, though the sources of such noises never presented themselves.You are able to quickly find a way into the volcano from a fissure in its side. The roars continue to echo, even louder now that you stand in a closed environment. As you approach the end of the fissure, you can see into the volcano's core: The entire magma chamber, which has nearly a 200-foot diameter and is about 300 feet tall, is empty, save for a huge dragon that seems to be made of rock and magma itself. Roughly in the center seems to be a kind of altar carved from the rock of the chamber, and on top is a bowl-like dip. Anything that sat there now is gone.

The dragon senses something is amiss, and begins to scan his lair. Perception: 34
