While trying to move quietly, Grix feels something shift on his back, followed very quickly by a loud crash as his shield hits the ground. He turns to collect it as quickly as he can, the look of a deer staring into  headlights appearing on his face

The dragon turns to face the five of you. "It better not be you, you slimy, thieving coward!" He bellows. After a quick search, you finds five humanoids, and eases his demeanor. "Ah, people." He says, seemingly relieved. "Perhaps you can solve my dilemma."

"Slimy, thievin' coward? 'Haps we're lookin' fer the same thing?" Thorin wanders up with a wave, "That tentacled beast stole somethin' o' ours too. Thorin's the name. Traveller an' monk. I'd be happy ta help solve yer problem." He looks over at the pedestal with bowl-like dip carved into it and gestures over towards it, "Yer not missin' an egg or somethin' there are ya?"

The dragon chuckles. "No, not an egg, master dwarf. Something far more valuable." He inspects you thoroughly. "I'm guessing you've never really heard of this plane, have you? Any of you?" He asks. Trajeon pipes up, rather sheepishly. "Actually, uh, I have. It's my job and duty to study the multiverse."

The dragon gives a deep, bellowing laugh. "You amuse me, half-elf. With your knowledge, perhaps you know what is missing from my pedestal there?" However, Trajeon shakes his head. "Well, in that case, I shall tell you. My name is Fragherwe. I am the oldest pyroclastic dragon, and perhaps one of the oldest dragons. The only thing that has attributed to my age was the Heart of Unceasing Combustions, an item of my own creation." He says. "Long story short, a vile squid infiltrated my lair here, and stole the Heart. I tried to obliterate it, but failed, as the age I had acquired finally began catching up with me. I am in pain, and without the Heart, I will not live much longer. Please, I beg of you, return the Heart for me, since we both seek the same beast."

"Of course! It is quite lucky that we have the same foe. In fact, we had come to this plane to pursue the coward! When it escaped us the first time, we caught a glimpse of this realm and still believe its island is still here."

"Indeed, I believe him to be as well. In fact, I know him to still be here." Fragherwe says.

His fear starting to subside as he realises the dragon does indeed seek the party's help, finally finds his voice "Where can it be found then....?"

"if you know where he is then point us to our pray." Trinity says

"He would be heading to the Tower Arcane, where he will find the deed to the Heart." Fragherwe says.

"Why does it need the deed?"

"I alone could not create the Heart. I possessed the magic, but not the item. So I sought help from the Arcanoloths of the Tower Arcane. In exchange for the Heart, I would give them my services if they needed it. The deed is in my name, but it can be changed. Only the person who's name the deed is in can take the Heart from this plane. If the squid wishes to escape my wrath, which he should, he will seek to change the deed and leave with my Heart." Fragherwe explains.

"Wait... The theft of the Rod and this business with the Heart... Could it actually be...?" Something clicks in Abzerilan's mind. "These two events are too close together to just be happenstance."

"Could it be that the Rod is not for its collection, but a means to an end? Since you made a deal to Arcanoloths for use of the heart, the morkoth might be intending the exact same thing! It must believe that the Rod may be enough to change the name on the deed! If that's the case, we must move or we will lose both!"

"Any other advice ya can give us, ancient one? 'Fore we trudge off ta this tower," Thorin says as he looks over the pedestal.

"The Arcanoloths are very deceptive. Do not make any deals with them, for they could turn sour for you." The dragon warns. "Also, the Heart is very volatile. Any sudden, forceful movements could result in cataclysm for you all."

"Right then," Thorin nods, "No deals. An' the heart is dainty an' fragile. Got it."

(So we are in agreement to head out to the Tower Arcane?)
