"Oh!" Eris is surprised at Seldor's gifts of the healing potions. "Well, thank you sweetheart!" She thanks him properly wish a quick peck on the cheek. Eris decides to keep them all on her person for now, unless anyone asked to spare one or two.
The sorceress is hesitant in crossing the chasm, but hearing Hamdel had a spell in case of failure causes her nerves to ease up a bit. She gets out her rope, promptly ties herself, and tries to make her way across.

As you all make it across the chasm safely, within the foundation of the tower on the near side of the chasm is an instrument panel built into the wall. You've never seen anything like it before. Now's time for some checks to figure things out.

Ok, good job Dalavash. Seldor passed the second roll too, but you rolled all three passing, so here's something you figure out.
You noticed and remember a number of small things.
First, there are two gemstones on the ground. One red, one blue. You see them. As you pick them up, nothing happens, but you notice they're made of a material unknown to you. Looking at the panel, you put together that the gems could fit into it - but other sockets are on the panel too which would hold more gems. But here are two gems. Where are the others? You also recognize this machine as the Infernal Machine of Lum the Mad, a warlord who must of made this machine for an unknown purpose. You remember reading about it in your studies. It appears this panel radiates with deep transmutation magic in a way you're unfamiliar with..the transmutation of time itself. The gems would easily fit into the panel and produce a localized effect. The red gem allows a time field to be adjusted towards the future, and the blue gem, into the past.
This is indeed a very miraculous find. However, with only two gems and many sockets in the panel, you're sure this otherworldly contraption can do so much more.
But what?
If this got into the wrong hands, your heart pounds in your chest realizing what devastation such ideas could wrought. The gems you hold are most likely worth a fortune.
No, nothing else magical in the vicinity. It is very clear that you are the only one who, more or less, has a very good idea of what this device is. The others, not so much. I'm sure they'd want to know what you have there, as valuable as it is. You literally have part of a time travelling/altering device in your hand.
Dalavash holds up the gemstones. 'This here is Infernal Machine of Lum the Mad, and using these gemstones can take us forward or back in time. It's an horrific machine, but also capable of miracles. We'd need to find other gems in order to gain more use from it. I don't object to us using it - but we can't leave it operational when we're finished...'
He pauses for a moment.
'If you're all game, we have to decide if we're going forward or back in time.'
Eris eyes the gemstones Dalavash holds up. Perhaps if they went back in time then maybe... maybe she could save Tormund. She could prevent the kidnapping. "Let's go back." She would say, trying to mask her eagerness.

"Hmmm, a curious conundrum. If we go forward, we may find other adventurers have arrived with less noble intentions than our own! We might find that Banrion has tired of our presence and aims at our destruction! We could find anything! If we go back in time, however, well, there is a chance that we might arrive at a time when one or more other gems were closeby. In any case, I would not recommend selling these things, nor am I utterly certain how the machine functions as it is. Perhaps... well, that is a thought for another time. We should experiment!"
'"You can do it!" Hamdel calls from across the chasm.

Dalavash casts, via a ritual, Detect Magic to see if there’s anything else magical in the vicinity.
‘This is some find we’ve come across. And much responsibility.’
No, nothing else magical in the vicinity. It is very clear that you are the only one who, more or less, has a very good idea of what this device is. The others, not so much. I'm sure they'd want to know what you have there, as valuable as it is. You literally have part of a time travelling/altering device in your hand.
"So what now? Should we try to fix this thing? Take it to a museum? Technically speaking, we got what we came for."

"Or ... should we play with the device ourselves? You know ... make sure it works?" Kitsune slyly adds.
