As rose wakes up, she sees Bell sitting close by staring at her with bloodshot eyes. Heavy bags hang under her lower eyelids. Fallan is sprawled out unconscious nearby, and the old woman is still struggling in the Satyrs arms. “Oh... you’re back... I mean... awake. Good. Very good.” Bell looks around and nods a few times, her gaze lazily returning to Rose. “... heheh... tag, you’re up.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

The woman's struggles had continued for a long while, almost the entire four hours that the other two were resting, though Fallan will wake up with one hell of a headache, and a painful bruise on her head, as the 'love tap' held far more force than she likely intended. Though just before Rose and Fallan had begun to regain consciousness, the old woman had given up, seeming enraptured by the sky after a time, though luckily she wasn't staring at the sun. But she had become content with simply staring at the blue sky, and the clouds floating by, so when Bell finally collapses the woman remains seated there, smiling pleasantly in her watching. And though her stomach was growling, she seemed to ignore it.
The sun was still high in the sky, and the heat had risen to uncomfortable levels but nothing a field worker didn't experience as they tilled a field, but uncomfortable nonetheless. Rose begins to stir, her body covered in sweat, her inner padding soaked, though luckily since she hasn't moved much she doesn't have any chafing, or rashes. Just that uncomfortable 'wet t-shirt' feeling in various places. Root long gone after having run off hours ago, whatever would become of him would be left to fate.
Fallan too, was beginning to stir. A thick lump on her head that was pulsing pain, that had already formed into one hell of a migraine, causing every swift movement to hurt. On top of her belly feeling like she'd eaten too much at a buffet.... at-least three times over. Making any movement cause extreme pain if not taken slowly, and carefully. Also covered in sweat soaking into any cloth-like portion of her armor. and making it feel all the heavier.
Both hearing Bell collapse from extreme exhaustion, falling, sweating more than the others for being in physical contact with the older woman. Who was also sweating but seeming to not care.
During this time Nana had once more succumbed to whatever was going on once more, though this seemed to cause her to fret as her worries came to the fore. Watching everything going on, wondering what in the hells was happening, Rose suddenly showing up out of nowhere, people dead, or dying on the streets, Rose collapsing, Fallan gorging though she didn't know Fallan personally, the old woman's behavior. and it had effected her before too, though she didn't realize it was, again. She had tried healing spells earlier when the effects had taken hold but they had accomplished nothing, aside from healing the wounds from Bells earlier actions. by 6.
Rose wakes up and immediately crawls to any nearby shade that might be had. She barely registered what Belle was saying until she collapsed. Understanding then that the Satyr likely needed her own break, Rose looked around at her remaining companions. Taking note of Roots absence Rose sighs hoping that it was his choice and simply not madness that led him to go wherever he went. Gathering her wits she gathered up the other and sat them down near Fallan, aiming her twilight aura and eliminating the madness withing them. Now that that's taken care of...Nana. Nana what in the nine hells is happening? The city, everyone has been infected with this madness. When did this start and what caused it? Is there anything you remember?
Fallan, though interested in what Rose is doing, cannot help but moan from the pain in her stomach. While Rose tries to sit everyone up, Fallan keeps rolling on her side and into a fetal position, grabbing her belly and almost trying to push it back in, to decrease the distention she feels, even if it isn't immediately visually obvious. At one point, she sees Bell's flask and hurls it toward the collapsed Satyr - not trying to hit Bell, but doing her best to put plenty of distance between herself and this vessel of pain.
Rose, after waking up and casting her spell, managing to, for now, re-purge the mind altering effects with no trouble before finally moving everyone, except Fallan whom was agonizing, and Nana whom didn't need it, as she seemed to recover a bit slowly but eventually helped in moving the others to the shade as she felt her own skin drenched in sweat, both from the sun and the state of worry she had been in moments before. Though she had spent her spells in her worried state, and couldn't provide anymore magical assistance for at-least a while.
The shade provided some relief to those under it's boughs. and the wind itself wasn't bad, applying that cooling caress to the flesh soaked with sweat. Fallan refusing to move at-least for now, continues to be a slow baking potato, in over-eat agony as the alchemy jug landed unceremoniously to the side of the sleepy satyr. Leaking honey onto the ground like a weeping wound.
Bell snoring ... a little comfortably now being out of the sun off to the side. The older woman suddenly exhausted from all her struggling with bell earlier and her mind clear, collapses from exhaustion as well to join the others in their naps. Nana finally sitting down, and shaking her head. Ah.. I.... truly don't know. Nothing seemed wrong at the time. I saw some of the initiates become more dutiful, and everyone seemed to take their roles more seriously, which made me happy, so I began to study the scriptures and i just felt so engrossed by it that I felt i must continue, like perhaps some revelation would come to me if I did. When you came and cast the spell of cleansing while I still felt the desire to learn more of mother Selune.. it wasn't as strong.
In all honesty nothing really seemed off except that everyone was doing more of what they loved, and i thought that perhaps Selune had kicked them into gear... everyone was doing more of what they wanted.
Rose nods and leans back on the nearby tree or whatever is providing the much appreciated shade. I see, except unfortunately its affecting the entire city. Some people have died because of it. At this point I think we can rule out Selûnes influence, unless she had some reason to be mad at the city. Perhaps is some magic gone wrong or some devil or demon? Perhaps even a creature of the feywild and their sick idea of a joke. Rose closes her eyes, her pounding headache from a lack of hydration starting to bother her. Suppose there's no way to know right now. We can't go back, I can't hold Selûnes sanctuary for very long and even if I could trying to purge the entire city of their madness that way would take too long. And since it seems those outside the sanctuary can be reaffected it would be futile as well. I must admit, I'm at a loss of what we should do here. I know we need to rest. My companions are exhausted as am I. One of them seems to be missing but without rest I won't be able to do much to find him or cure him of his madness if we do.
Nana sits down, seemingly exhausted, though not nearly as much as the rest of you, as if healing her issue had finally let the weight hit her. Listening grimly, but with a concerned and unsure expression on her face. Putting her thumbs and fingers together, lacing them and sworling her thumbs. Nodding at the initial comment of Selune, but shaking her head 'no' at the latter. Interrupting momentarily I don't believe that would be the case, since one of Mystra's chosen rules the city. If Selune were to anger Mystra by attacking her chosen's city. before stopping, to allow Rose to continue, seeming to consider the other options far more likely. Finally hrm'ing when she was done.
It honestly sounds like a curse has been placed on the city, though whether magical in nature or something else is up for debate.... and how has this gone on without anyone else noticing until you came along? .. .Also Is your family still within the city? I haven't had the chance to keep track of it.
(Yilira, you can enter the campaign at any time, they're just off the road, in the shade of a tree - also sorry all this is all i have time to post today and i STILL can't login on my phone....)
Rose frowns at the mention of a curse and then again at the mention of family. Assuming the madness must have some lingering side affects with memory Rose doesn't take the question to hard. N-No Nana they are not. They died a long time ago remember? When Nesmé was sacked. But let's not dwell on that. We need to find out what the cause of this curse is and put a stop to it. People are dying in the city, we can't let this continue.
Rolling on her side so that her face is directed at Rose and Nana, though still holding her stomach in pain and with a grimaced face that displayed the lasting effects of whatever was happening in the city, Fallan asks what she thinks are intelligent questions: "Do we know where the 'curse' effect starts? JUST at the city gate? Or did it seem to go further as we exited? Could the cursed area be growing? Can the edges of the curse be identified and maybe then show where the CENTER of the effect is coming from? And, is there any way to determine how LONG this has been going on? Miss Nana... you said you saw some of the initiates become more dutiful, and everyone seemed to take their roles more seriously, so you began to study the scriptures and just felt so engrossed by it that you felt you must continue. Can you remember when that started?" Looking primarily toward Rose, Fallan continued. "If this is a curse, it must have a source, be that Mystara, or an individual, or something that created or issued or distributed whatever was and is affecting the city folk. No?"
Breaching the horizon walks an unassuming figure clad in white attire that denotes the presence of someone who works in a clinic of sorts. Strung across the human's back is a small traveler's pack which appears deflated - as if she had been traveling for a not insignificant amount of time. Her stride seems fluid and practiced - strange for one in such attire. Her brow is knit in a befuddled expression of concern; an expression which presumably crosses her young features frequently, considering the lines already etched into her skin.
Finally. Some people we can ask about this madness. She throws a hand up to shield her narrowed eyes from the sun as she briskly steps towards the party - who all seem to be suffering from some strange effect. She halts well within stopping distance and settles her hands to her hips, treating each of the collected party with a stern, acknowledging nod. "Greetings. I am Ylnira - a healer from the all-faith's shrine," she drones, clearly a phrase she has rattled far too many times. "I have arrived out of concern for the well-being of, well - this town. While I am unsure if you know anything, may I ask - what in the nine hells is happening?" she asks, gesturing broadly towards the town - and, well, everything.
Nana leaned back against the trunk of the tree, closing her eyes and letting out a heavy sigh, clearly stressed now that her clear mind could at-least grasp what was happening within the place she called home. Her lids fluttering, but not opening as Rose spoke further. and as Rose answered her inquiry... a frown formed as if she suddenly remembered. I.. I'm sorry Rose, I remember now. Between my work here and in Waterdeep... My apologies for my indiscretion. But what you say is true, we cannot simply let it continue. But we.. she started as Fallan chimed in, curled up like an overstuffed teddybear. Her attention immediately on Fallan, and smiling in that way an adult does when a child is asking good questions she cannot answer, even though she truly wants to. her eyes finally opening again.
Unless someone in or around the city noticed before whatever it is, I don't believe any of your questions can be answered, little one. THough perhaps the edges or source can be identifies if one of you possesses the ability to detect poison, curses, good, evil and other such spells that some folks who have been blessed can cast. Unfortunately it is not one in my arsenal. All of my spells are for healing and unfortunately I used all my energies on you earlier.
As for 'when' i noticed this.. it was several days ago, now that I think about it, I haven't left the temple in that time... so perhaps two to three days ago, perhaps even four.... at most. Though i do not feel starved and I recall eating at my usual times.... but I'm very dutiful to my schedule.
It wasn't long after Nana had finished, when a human traveler approached the group, announcing her name and from whence she hails. Yin's body likely soaked in sweat under her clothing from the muggy heat and the travel, having passed the trmains of Rose's & co's camp from the night before. ..All-faith shrine...? ZZzzzzZZzzzz the elderly woman whom was the temples caretaker finally beginning to snore in her deepened sleep state, Nana continuing unperturbed. Isn't that far down in the Dessarim valley... Redlarch.. if I recall correctly.. ... ... in any case I'm afraid I can answer little of your questions I was caught up in whatever this isshe repeated with no sarcasm, only exasperation at her inability to understand And I'm afraid my friends here are all exhausted, though I don't know the specifics. Ah forgive me, where are my manners. I am Naneatha Suaril, of the church of Selune. Though i am actually of the waterdeep chapter.
Rose reaches for her weapon when she hears someone approaching but stops herself quickly. It seemed doubtful a drow would announce themselves or be heard and when she turned to confirm it wasn't an approaching dark elf she sighed with relief. Greeting traveler. Name's Rose, Cleric of Selûne, Silverymoon chapter. Unfortunately I can't answer your questions either. I've been away too long it seems though perhaps that's for the best. I'd likely be afflicted by the madness if I hadn't been elsewhere. It seems none of us know whats going on, we were just about to discuss what we could do about it. By the way traveler, don't suppose you passed a dragonborn before finding our camp? I'm afraid the madness caused him to wander off while I was asleep.
"A healer you say?" Fallan moans as she rocks to and fro still cradling her stomach as if she were gravid with child. "Anything you can do for an impossibly overstuffed belly, indigestion, and a newfound disgust for honey? No, really, it's agonizing. I am really in PAIN." Between the rolling of her body back and forth, she tries to make eye contact with the newcomer and deliver her most pitiful "puppy dog eyes" at the "healer".
The human woman pauses at the words of the two Selune worshipers and grants them each with a respectful nod of her head. "I know I am now in good company. The clerics of Selune tend to be honorable." She shrugs her shoulders - the lines in her frown deepen as she realizes how soaked her garments are. She had planned to rest soon. "Regarding the dragonborn? I did see one fleeing from this direction - it is partially why I am here now. I attempted to reason with him. Despite my efforts, he ran away. My method of healing is simply to patch wounds - I am afraid the conditions you say are slightly out of my depths. Do you know anything of this maledict?"
Bellerain rolls onto her side, instinctively snatching the Alchemy jug from where it lay close to her and hugs it. She snores once more, giggles in her sleep, and then is quiet.
Rose considers for a moment Roots fate, while she desperately wanted to catch up with him she couldn't just abandon her home in its current state. With a sigh Rose decided that Root would hopefully get to wherever he felt he needed to go and that some kindly soul would help rid him of his madness. Perhaps if she got lucky she would come across the monk and be able to help him later. For now she turned her attention to the new arrival and her questions. Well, Ylnira was it? All I really know is thats its definitely some sort of magical charm. Selûne has blessed me with an ability that can purge this filth from peoples minds, but its a limited range and only lasts a minute. After than I usually need and hour or so of rest before I can do it again. Unfortunately a metropolis like Silverymoon is far to big for this to be practical, it would possibly take a year or more to get any significant number of people cured. Even if we could spare the time, whatever the source of this madness is is still affecting the city. Without taking care of that no one would be able to return to Silverymoon without going mad once more. Rose sighs and looks over towards the city.
On our way here we ran into a Drow ambush. I don't have any proof, but if Drow are operating in the area again then they could be responsible for this. Anything that could affect the entire city like this would have to be quite powerful however, if the drow are involved they are likely not the direct source but might know what is.
"Aaargh!" Fallan continued to moan. "If it's those damned drow, wouldn't whatever is causing this likely be UNDERground where the pesky cockroaches call home? And how would they be up in the city in the daylight? Should we be looking for sewers or subterranean passages, Rose?"
Just to clarify since I only thought of it recently, anyone making saves with adv if you have due to 'magic' it's not magic but poison will have adv.. I can't think of a way to say it without just... spoiling that much.
Nana had listened quietly to the conversations going on around her. With Root gone and Bell fast asleep, and likely un-wake-able for at-least some time, only leaving the newcomer, Yin (as I refer to her for ease of typing) Fallan, who was still suffering the ill effects of her gluttonous rampage, with Rose being the only one unscathed if only due to her resistance thus far. Nana let out another sigh, before pushing herself to her feet with some degree of effort. Though cooler after being beneath the shade, still sweating heavily hummed for a moment and turned to address Rose and Co, including the newcomer Yin.
I cannot tell you all what course to take... but if the madness is reaching beyond the city.. as even now I feel its tug on my mind, though it feels like it has no direction.... I think my best course of action would be to return to Waterdeep, and inform the rest of the clergy of what is going on here. If preistly spells work to abate the poison or curse... then logically the more divine followers we can get for this the better our odds are. You can come with me, stay here, go back, or ... ignore this entirely though her eyes fell on Rose with a look that she didn't believe Rose would do the latter But whatever you do, you should do it quickly. Atleast get farther from the city until you've made a decision. And perhaps get some more rest, a weary mind is a weak mind. And I feel very weary.
I think I ate and used the restroom as usual during my..... but I don't recall ever sleeping. So I am going to move before I end up like our friend there. she says, nodding to Bell.
I know you are in pain little one but you might need to force yourself, lest you lose yourself. And as for you, Yilnira, of the AFS, I'm not sure what brought you here but if they decide to in some way aid the town, even if they seek it as I do by seeking aid from others of our order, or even other orders.... if you could at-least assist them until they've had a chance to rest. They apparently haven't had any sleep, aside from Rose, and even then she only got a pittance.
I shall take my leave... the sooner i get the order on the move... the better for us all. And do not worry Rose, I will rest once I feel I am safely away from this .. let us only hope that Mystra's chosen has resisted..... she says looking at the walls towards one of the few towers visible from almost any angle outside the city.
In your next posts, please try to state your opinions (In character) abotu the groups next move. And barring someone outright being against it, what seems to be the consensus will be the action taken.
Nana can still be stopped and spoken to, though she has begun to depart.
You can specify whether you all stayed to discuss or if you chose to move away from the city (thus needing to carry atleast Bell, and potentially Fallan, as well as the old lady who fell asleep.
the options I've given you aren't all you have they're simply some suggestions.

WIll allow a few more posts before posting for Nana
