Uthred forces his way out of the tentacle and as he does so it snaps around to try and grasp the next closest object, Borax. With a snap of his wrist, he knocks the tentacle aside, trying to avoid the suckers that surely would have latched on. The scene around him suggested that the octopus would not be taking them anywhere else but instead was home. It appeared as if many victims had been brought here in the past, probably individuals who had stumbled across the door. Borax doubted that the octopus was prepared more than one, especially those who were willing to fight back.
Borax steps back to the edge of the pit, hoping that by separating its attention, he and Uthred could hold the creature until the others arrived to help. Removing his warhammer from his belt, Borax notices how unwieldy the weapon feels underwater. Still, it felt good to have the steel in his hands. Trying to stay out of the reach of the tentacles, Borax once again calls on the fires of Gond. Hoping to at least maintain the focus of the beast as Uthred recovers.
V'rekh moves through the ink cloud and sees the octopus below in the pit. The tortle takes aim and scores a hit with his crossbow. (I'll take the 17 since its out of the ink cloud)
DEX Save v Sacred Flame, 18 The creature again avoids the flames's of Gond.
Jarrett and Faylen are both able to dash into the room just as the octopus attacks again. This time grabbing at Faylen. Tentacle v Faylen, 14 to hit, 11 bludgeoning damage and restrained. (34 damage, bloody)
V'rekh looks around for an air pocket. He would swim towards the nearest one to take air and cast a spell at the monster. If he can reach an air pocket, he'll cast Frostbite at the monster (DC 12 CON save or take 1 cold damage and it has disadvantage on the next weapon attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn), otherwise he will just shoot his crossbow again (10 Damage: 1).

V'rekh finds an air pocket above him and takes a breath to cast a spell down at the large cephalopod. CON Save v Frostbite, 16
The octopus pulls the now unconcious Faylen down into the pit (Faylen make a death save) and attacks the tortle that covered it in frost. Tentacle v V'rekh, 9 to hit, 8 bludgeoning damage and restrained.
Borax sees the tentacle whip out and strike Faylen. Immediately their body goes limp, sinking in the water. Frantic, he rushes to stand between Faylen and the tentacle. As he does so he utters a prayer to Gond, that the fires of Faylen's soul may be rekindled.

(Sorry, things have been busy here)
(Unfortunately, since Faylen can't breath, she cannot regain any hit points. Anyone death save please Faylen)
CON Save v Frosbite, 7 Again the octopus is plagued with a frosted hide.
Despite his poor aim, Jarret manages to catch one of the creatures appendages with his bolt.
DEX Save v Sacred Flame, 3 While Borax's healing spell seemed ineffective, the radiant light scorches the beast again.
Uthred, bloody and filled with rage, takes two large swings against the octopus. Both connect and wound the creature gravely. After a second, you can all see it float lifelessly in the pit.

Borax sags a little in relief as he sees the octopus go limp. It is amazing how dangerous things become when you are outside your element. Then, realising that Faylen has still not moved, he looks around to see if there are any air pockets in the lower part of the pit. Perception: 16 As he glances around he notices V’rehk and Uthred rushing over to help Faylen.
If Borax spots any air pockets he will point them out to the others, if not he will help them get Faylen up to the top of the pit.
V'rekh is stabilized for now but still unconcious. The group wades in the air pocket of a treasure-filled room.
There are weapons and armor scattered around the room with occasional bones, coins scattered to the edges of the floor, and a few curios: a small statue of a parrot, an ornate blue box, and a necklace of black pearls. While the ink cloud is still blocking everyone's vision out of the room, some of the group did see metal gears on the way in.
V'rekh snaps out of his stupor and moves towards the octopus, firing his crossbow at the center of the ink cloud.
Attack: 8 Damage: 5 (Assuming disadvantage because the target is in the ink cloud)

[ooc]Jarrett will continue swimming through the ink could in an attempt to get to a point where he can see. He will double move if need be![/ooc]

Faylen attempts to swim to an ink-free area and find the closest air pocket, afraid she may lose air.

V'rekh thanks the gods that his caparace is strong, and retorts from the air pocket "glacientur tuos bracchiorum", hoping to freeze the octopus again.

Jarrett attempts to use his contraption to send a bolt of fire towards the octopus, but the tight confines send his aim way off!

Danger only remains for Faylen.
Seeing an unresponsive companion, V'rekh would swim towards Faylen and start dragging her towards the air pocket.
Uthred swears aloud and regains breath, he swims towards the injured companion
