(Happy to put Chen further up front. Can't do much if not in melee, no spells/range/etc, but good damage soak)
Chen is again excited to be exploring the ruins. The last crypt was interesting, but the dead don't eat and thus didn't have much in the way of recipes.

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
" Ummm, guys?" Fianna says distractedly, grabbing Jahren's sleeve and tugging on it. "Remember that dragon we killed? I think maybe it's family is looking for it...."
Once the party pauses Fianna will more clearly explain what she saw, direction of travel and all. "Toc, will the structure you made for the squire people survive... well, a dragon?? Do we want to... Well, I have no suggestions, right now there seems no good option."
Toc glances back to Fianna, "Hmmm, depends on the dragon I suppose. It has no floor, so a creature can dig under it. Or it can be dispelled. Or disintegrated. In general it's quite safe, but....it's not perfect."

"Either the mother is looking specifically for us and will differentiate her preys, or she is too angry and going to kill any living being on her path. In both cases squires should be safe?"Mirica would not mind to return (Sebastion did tell his squires are not ready to fight) but if she was one that boy, she would feel offended by so much sheltering (though Sebastion made an impressive mother-hen).
The situation, though, repeated itself: they again they had a choice between underground with the powerful wizard at the end (potentially) and an angry dragon outside.
"If it were flying that high up i dont believe it is hunting in this area. Greens like attacking low not from the air. That would be more of a red attack. Its all about the breath"
Although he sounds confident there is a slight concern in Sebastians voice
“Sorry, guess I need you to do some more scouting,” Fianna tells FinFin while giving them a reassuring scratch on the underside of their jaw. After a soft coo in response, FinFin takes flight and goes back the way they came, heading for the outside and the open skies.
FinFin dashes through the trees and the foliage and the rain and seeks to emerge just at canopy level, to try to stay hidden amongst the top of the trees while trying to spy on the dragon. Is it still in the area or vanishing into the horizon? Can it’s size and color be determined? Is it’s path toward or away from the indefatigable squires or renown and courage? FinFin will try to determine all this and more, and relay it back to Fianna...
(As a reminder to you folk, there is small shrub and bushes in the ruins, but precious few trees. Whatever trees were here were destroyed when the flying mountain and city of Shade were dropped upon them. But, there's plenty of bushes and such to hide in.)
FinFin chases after the large dragon. It begins to circle and descend over the northern part of the ruin, eventually descending in a clearing. FinFin watches the green dragon....an adult, clearly one of the kids, not the mother land in the clearing. As FinFin hops into a bush on a hill to get a good look at what it's doing, she notes that the clearing here seems to have been excavated since the cities fell, and what looks like it may have been the interior of a building, but is now just crushed stone flooring and fragments of walls has been cleared. In the center of one section of floor is a cracked and damaged fresco of a sailing ship entering a port. The dragon places its claw down across the whole image and then abruptly vanishes.
((Yeah, sorry... just have forest stuck in my head))
"Some kind of portal?" Fianna asks after describing everything to the rest. "Perhaps this was the one imposing a tax upon the shipping lanes?"
Fianna will instruct FinFin to carefully approach the cleared out interior and check out the fresco. If all seems quiet and nobody around, they'll even try to mimic the dragon's action of placing a claw upon the image. If nothing happens, FinFin will do a cursory scouting of the area and then return. If by some chance they are teleported elsewhere I assume it will be out of range of sharing their senses... So Fianna would dismiss the familiar after 10 minutes and then resummon FinFIn next to her.
FinFin explores the area, and fresco, and attempts to trigger it, but nothing happens. It seems quiet, nobody is around, but FinFin can't seem to figure a way to make the thing work.

The group sits in the underground tunnel waiting for FinFin's report. The rain above begins to pour down, and soon enough small rivulets of water are trickling down the stairs and finding their way into a puddle at the bottom of the stairs, where the excess water runs off into a myriad of cracks in the ground. The sound of the rain rumbles above, the irregular staccato of drops striking the earth intermingled with the louder sounds of large dripping fills the air coming down the passage.
The group turns their attention to the carved door. They are made of solid stone and seem to be locked.
Toc motions to the carving of the three demons begin drawn into a spiral of energy, speaking in a loud whisper. "This carving depicts the Trio Nefarious, the yugoloths that were summoned by Aldlas Sodhese to plague Myth Drannor as he searched for the Nether Scrolls. The three nycoloths: Aulmpiter the strategist, Malimshaer the assassin, and Gaulguth the berserker, were defeated in -1200 DR as Aldlas was defeated by the might of elven high magic. I don't have a key. I have a spell that can open the door but it'll make a loud noise."

Fianna relays everything she learned and if there’s nothing else for FinFin to examine she’ll summon them back to her. “Will it be a common lock?” Fianna asks. “I have a crowbar and see some muscley companions, if that would be quieter than your spell?”
With regard to the information FinFin and Fianna relay about the dragon disappearing, Jahren contemplates "I wonder if it works like the tapestry below." "There is an arcane lock of sorts in play there, though."
There appears to be no lock to pick. Toc shrugs, "Breaking the door open won't be quiet, but neither will my spell. When I cast it, a loud knock, audible from as far away as 300 feet, emanates from the target object."
Toc holds out an open hand and begins ticking off fingers, "We have a miriad of options for getting through this door. I can turn people into smoke and we can go through. I can use a spell that'll make a loud knock noise. We can break it down. We can blind teleport. I could disintegrate the door. I could make a hallway through the....ug, why are we talking about this still."
Toc taps his staff on the ground and one of the double doors has a large section of it vanish. "It's a passwall spell. Minimal noise."
The grey light shining down from the stairway, shines in through the new gap in the door. The room beyond is crafted of the same white stone as the hallway behind. The walls are covered in bas relief of a great battle. Three large statues dominate the room, equally spread across the center and there is another set of doors to your left. The bas relief battle is a carving on the walls depicting a human wizard surrounded by elven high mages and bladesingers, split into three panels. In the first panel the wizard is clearly winning, backed by fiendish allies. On the second wall he is surrounded by dozens of dead elves, but faces some sort of grand elven wizard who is crushing Aldlas with the weight of his own mighty arcane defences, his body being twisted and torn. In the third panel, the human’s body is being laid to rest beneath a statue of a weeping elven woman as the Grand Mage works magic to seal his corpse away forever.
The room is dominated by three large statues of elven women, each made of white marble. The statue furthest to the west is of an elven woman in a voluminous gown, her face in her hands as she weeps. The middle statue wears a sleeveless gown with a fishtail hem so that her legs are visible. Her arms are stiff with her hands clutched into fists at her sides and her mouth is open in a scream of anguish. The statue to the east is of an elven woman in plate chased in silver with a large sapphire shaped like a crescent moon embedded in the chest. Her helm missing, her resigned, stolid expression is clear.
There are double doors that lead out on the left side of the room.

Chen grins and nods to Seb, then followed him into the room. He gawks around the room at the artwork, admiring it like it was a gallery in a modern city rather than a dust covered dungeon. He looks to see if there is any direct correlation between the carving of the weeping statue and the actual statue.
Fianna takes a moment to study the art, specifically comparing the weeping elven statue in the bas relief to the actual statue of a weeping elven woman. Do they appear to be the same statue? Surely Aldlas wasn't buried right here...?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sebastion, a grin still on his lips steps into the room.
Sebastion:
As Sebastion steps into the room, he hears a woman crying and sees tears flowing freely down the weeping statues’ arms. Then you feel dark energy course through your limbs. (DC 15 CON save please. 40 necrotic damage or half if you save.)
Chen, just behind Sebastion but not yet in the room sees Sebastion's silver scales glitter with black energy and he seems to be in sudden pain.
