"Orden. I see. But I assure you, you were not in the same caravan 'merely by chance'." Frilis says. "Something darker is at work. As for the other 13, they can be anywhere, anyone. It could be anyone out there." He points towards the door. "Anyone back in Splintfork. Anyone." He says, spreading his arms. "If you have truly come to aid Splintfork, then I will not stop you. Their supplies are located near the gate you came in. I will lead you there." Frilis says, motioning for you to follow.

You follow Frilis a short ways back to the gate. He shows you the supplies, and as you begin to load them up, Frilis motions for the gates to be opened, and as they creak open, Frilis looks through in horror.

Kallista, on the other hand, looks anxious to get out of there. The more she learns about this destiny the universe supposedly has in store for her, the more she wants to avoid it. "Orden is probably wondering where we are. We've been quite a while," she comments as they load the carriage.
At Frillis's reaction, Kallista draws her daggers and jogs over to see what has him so shocked.
Kallista (and anyone else who goes over to see) sees a mob of people marching down the path. They don't approach with weapons drawn or with anger on their faces. Instead it seems that great sorrow hangs over them. (Everyone who goes over to look, please make a History check).

(Hmm yeah, that didn't seem to work well. It rarely works for me though either)
A horrid realization comes to Fletcher, who realizes that the people trodding down the path are the same people you saw in Splintfork. Though now, they seem dirty, and some of them even have open wounds that are still bleeding.
"Gods above and demons below, what has happened to these people?" Jullar asks.

Tender gasps aloud at Fletcher's words, hurrying to follow after him to meet the people. What could have happened to them? To Splintfork? They had not been gone very long, had they? "Hey," she calls to refugees, waving one hand in the air. "What happened? Were you attacked?" Which seemed a stupid question, really, given the wounds on some of them; it's quite obvious something terrible has happened.

Evi, following closely behind Kallista, is shocked as well to see the inhabitants of the rather peaceful town turned into refugees so quickly. "If they made it here this quickly after us it must mean whatever happened to them occurred right after we left." Evi comments to the tiefling. Though grateful for the good fortune in that regard, Evi's nerves were still running wild with everything going on and she reflexively fiddled with her ring as she watched the horde of people slowly march closer. Trying to be useful, she'll join Kallista in scanning the crowd for anything unusual, while also occasionally shifting her gaze to the surrounding foliage to see if the stalker-ish creature had returned.
Orden cannot be seen walking, and someone in the crowd points to the back, where several people walk carrying makeshift stretchers. Upon one is the mangled body of Orden.
"It all happened so fast. We were minding our business. Then the screams. The horrible screams..." One person says.
"The creatures attacked a little after noon yesterday. Swarmed the whole town. They killed anyone who tried to fight back. Then the big one came..." Another chimes in, shuddering.
"He must've been nearly 20 feet tall. He- he destroyed all of Splintfork. With a wave of his hand. It all faded to dust and was gone. Just a big open patch where it all once stood." Another man says, hanging his head.
Several Vinanathi tribesmen rush out to help the people. "So it begins." Frilis says, walking back into the town.

Tender watches the townspeople, a distressed look twisting her features. It was their fault that this happened - if they hadn't let one of them get away, these people would still have their home. She shoves down the terrible memories of losing her own home and focuses, her own face hardening as she nods along with Fletcher's words. "I agree," she all but growls, her tail lashing behind her. "These people did nothing; they didn't deserve this."
"This is our fault," Kallista mutters to Evi, suddenly feeling sick to her stomach. "They thought we'd be there. We were there not an hour before they came." She surveys the crowd, face falling with each injured townsperson she spots. "I'm normally not in the business of helping people. But if Knurath can do this, I don't see what choice we have."
