Dra'vos stood is silence mulling over the recent revelation, to kidnap one such as Renaer Neverember made some sense to him, but a chain of events was being to form in his mind. Dra'vos spoke up, "Sir Renaer do you know of a man by the name of Floon Blagmaar?"
Sylivar will stand over and watch the bound Kenku, patrolling the entryway and windows, watching for any sign of guardsmen or guild members alike approaching.
Sylivar, your patrol is largely uneventful. Careful not to look too intently at Eekz's hiding spot, you also listen closely to the surroundings, tuning out the conversations of your compatriots inside the warehouse. You think you hear someone far off in the distance, but it is currently too far in the distance to tell.
Renaer, regal despite his reek, says, "Well, it is a pleasure, Sir Bladebender. I appreciate you finding me here. I wasn't sure what these Kenku were going to do with me." He responds to Dra'vos with a sharp, small gasp. "Yes, of course, I know Floon! He and I are very close. I was out drinking with him a couple nights ago. I was worried that he was too intoxicated to find his way home, so I escorted him. That's when we were ambushed by five people." He looks around, "I... assume he is still missing?"

"He is," Dra'vos responds matter-of-factly. "We were hired to find him. Can you tell us why the Zhentarim took you both and what happened here before our arrival?"
Renaer hesitates. "I... look. I don't make a habit of talking family business with strangers, but my father's been a bit of a bastard, so, hey. Why not? The Zhentarim believes my father embezzled a large amount of money while he was the Open Lord of Waterdeep, and that he hid the dragons somewhere in the city. They think they can find this hoard using an artifact called the Stone of Golorr, which was in the hands of the Xanathar Guild... until recently. Apparently, someone stole it. The Zhents thought I knew something about this, but I don't. Father and I haven't spoken in years. He doesn't approve of some of my more personal tendencies."
While he's talking, Renaer grabs a dagger and a rapier off of Zhentarim corpses. He uses whatever unstained cloth of theirs he can find to clean off the weapons, then puts them in their scabbards, which he attaches to his belt.
"I'm worried that they mistook him for me. Perhaps the Zhents didn't know which one of us was me, so they took both. Those kenku don't seem overly bright. I wouldn't be surprised if they just grabbed Floon and hoped for the best."

Sylivar walks back to the group and runs his eyes over Renaer before calling to the rest of the group. "We should leave quickly. Enemies may be approaching. Do you have an idea as to where the Kenku took Floon?"Sylivar asks of Renaer. "What do we do with this one?" he says, turning his head to their restrained prisoner.
Gil nods at Sylivar, "You're probably right, we should get out of here before we're noticed." He shrugs at the restrained Kenku, "Well, we did promise him the chance of a better life."
Sylivar sighs. The Kenku reminds him much of his past life, and he feels an obligation to help the creature, no matter the atrocities it had committed. “My best bet was to send it on a merchant ship as an assistant with the friends I’ve made in the past few hours. I’m sure I could figure something out.” Crouching down and staring at the Kenku, he continues. “If you receive an opportunity to flee the city and not return to lead a life away from Waterdeep and its grievances, would you? Either that, or you die here by the hands of my friends, or die in the hands of the Xanathars.”
The more perceptive of you can hear the sound of feet coming now, Renaer says, "Ah, delightful, I'm not sure who is worse, more goons, or the well-intentioned law. I have some political capital with them, but I'd prefer not to waste it on a misunderstanding such as this. Shall we?" At the talk of rehabilitating the kenku, Renaer doesn't say anything, but he raises his eyebrow.
The kenku looks panicked. It repeats your question in your own voice very quietly. "“If you receive an opportunity to flee the city and not return to lead a life away from Waterdeep and its grievances, would you? Either that, or you die here by the hands of my friends, or die in the hands of the Xanathars.” It pauses, thinking, but is quickly prompted by Syl to answer. It does so in a creaky old voice, "Well, it seems my choice is made for me, eh?" It then says in the same nasally voice, "Follow the yellow signs in the sewers!" Then finally again in Syl's voice, "The merchant ship."

"Renaer - would you care to join us for a little fun?" asks Dylan, an open smile on his face. "And perhaps a little revenge? We're headed for the sewers to find Floon. You clearly know how to use a blade, so you'd be welcome if you wish?" Glad to hear you don't like your father too, he was a nasty piece of work when I was up in his city.
Dylan looks for an exit in the opposite direction to the running feet which he assumes are the city watch. "Let's go. Bring the bird with us for now."
GIl checks the area, making a final sweep for any items or details before they leave.

After that he tightens up his pack and starts to sing lightly, "We're off to see the gizzard?" he shakes his head, "No, I need something better than gizzard there" he mutters to himself.
Sylivar gives a sharp whistle to get the group's attention. "Let's move," he says, searching around for the 'yellow signs' that indicate the entrance to the sewers.
The kenku looks at you with frustration, and says, "in the sewers. in the sewers. in." Unable to modulate tone or emphasize, it settles for repeating itself.
Renaer smells like pickled herring and body odor. A trip into the sewers may actually help his aroma. He jumps as he hears the goblin sniffing him, "Ah! What the... What is this?" He shudders, collects his bearing, and says, "Of course! I would love to help find Floon, especially if it helps us get out of here."
Gil, you see nothing of immediate value, but you do note that there are some closed doors on each level as you get ready to leave.

Dylan will lead the group out of the warehouse away from the approaching footsteps. If we can see any yellow signs leading to the sewers inside the building we'll follow them. Other than that we'll look for them in the streets.
Gil tilts his head as they start to leave, "Umm, I'm fairly certain that the Kenku is trying to tell us that the signs are in the sewers, rather than point towards them."
"Yes, that makes sense, I agree, Gil," confirms Dylan, trying to usher the group out of the door and away from the warehouse. "I guess it's possible there is a way down into the sewers inside the warehouse but maybe we can come back and check that out after the city watch have been and gone? Unless someone already spotted one?"
"Unfortunately, my experience here is largely useless. I'm sorry. I think you're right though, that it is trying to get us into Sewers, where there may be some yellow marks."
Can I get some investigation checks for your search into the sewers?
