Trying to figure what we want to do going forward? Do we want to hunt and kill Orcs before going to find Gundren? I almost feel like we should go after the guy we figure has been taken first. If we were looking at some downtime or something I think that would make a lot of sense but as it is?
I'll throw something along this line in RP too. I'm not opposed to either but it seems like we'd need a reason to ignore going after Gundren first. Am I nuts?
So, based on Arikon’s latest input I guess we need to finish negotiating our lodging/base of operations and then go after the Orcs. Hate the idea of leaving Gundren out to dry for the moment but I guess till we get more intel...
I've had some people in town this past week which has made posting a bit more difficult than previously. In addition, in the next couple months I've got several weeks of travel ahead of me that will cause potential issues as well. Given that...and given that Razor seems to need/want more posting from me at this point than I'm giving I think I'm going to step away from the game.
I really appreciate the opportunity. Thanks Razor for allowing me to join in the first place. Thank you players for some enjoyable game play. I greatly enjoyed writing with you all for this brief period and I wish you all many blessings and the best of luck.
I apologize for my slower rate of posting these past few days. It has been very busy, but I will be returning to my customary regular posting soon, perhaps twice a day. But, I've got some things I want to hear your thoughts about. Very soon, I'm going to be bringing in new players. Oculis has been inactive lately, so he will leave the game, but if he returns his character can return as well. My question is, what would you like to do with John? He's been along for enough of the journey that I'd hate to see him go, so would any of you like to assume control of him in combat?
Cragmaw Castle: Gundren Rockseeker was captured by goblins on the Triboar Trail under the orders of the “Black Spider.” He and his map to Wave Echo Cave were taken to a goblin stronghold in the Sindaein Wood named Cragmaw Castle, ruled by the chieftain King Grol. Sildar has tasked you with rescuing Gundren and driving the goblins from the castle. Reward: 500 gp
Finding Iarno: Iarno Albrek is a royal agent and colleague of Sildar Hallwinter. He was assigned to bring order to Phandalin two months ago, but disappeared. Iarno was last seen exploring Tresendar Manor. Sildar has hired you to find him bring him back- or what’s left of him. Reward: 200gp
Orcs at Wyvern Tor: Travelers have been accosted by Orcs on the east of the Triboar Trail, near the landmark Wyvern Tor. Harbin Wester has hired you to eliminate the orc menace. You must complete this task in two weeks. Reward: 100 gp, reduced rent(20 -> 10 gp)
Treasure: this is a group fund for the entire party’s treasure. For smaller purchases like food and lodging, your personal character sheet funds will suffice. However, for larger payouts and purchases this will be used. If someone wishes to draw money from here, please ask.
50 gp (from rescuing Sildar)
Jade frog statuette (40gp)
Two potions of healing
I hope you found this helpful. As the game progresses, I will update and repost this.
Just got the tap on the shoulder to come in as a replacement player. I've read through a lot of the story so far and you guys are doing a great job. It's really entertaining. Will do my best not to upset the good mojo you've got going.
I'll be playing Maglath Lonebearer Malukathai, a very large goliath. I can give you the overview on the backstory, etc if you like, or if you want to keep that in character on the campaign thread, that works too.
Can't wait until PlumPie's, the other replacement player, and my character make an appearance in the story.
Hello! As Thoradin said, I'm the other replacement player, and I've read some of the thread; it looks fun!
My character is Lyre, a short Kenku. If you would like me to elaborate a tad on Lyre's backstory, let me know, but otherwise, glad to join the campaign!
Currently playing in: Quest for the Shunned City, Coliseum of Conquest, DragonDenn's Dragonlords, Shipwrecked on Fugue, Tomb of Annihilation, Razor's Lost Mine of Phandelver, The Lost Kenku & One Grung Above
Currently DMing: Princes of the Apocalypse, Out of the Abyss, Coliseum of Conquest—The Arena (Sometimes)
It depends on how Razor wants to work you guys in. If we're losing Sharloon and Zee in some manner in the story, than I prefer to work in the background and introductions through the story as well. If we're just flipping the switch for expediency, then I would want some background to post accordingly.
Either way is completely acceptable to me; but I always side with whatever is easiest on the DM.
I’ve spent some time working out the reasons why Maglath and Lyre are entering the campaign, so it should fit well with the story. Promise- I’m not going to flip a switch and have them teleport out of nowhere.
As for Sharloon and Zee- I am still figuring the best way for them to exit. Forgive me if it seems a bit rushed and anticlimactic.

My intent was more focused on following Jeb and not so much going to Linane's. Is it ok to retcon that and me and John just join everyone?

Minor Illusion can only affect a 5 foot cube. Zee would not be able to make the whole party glow.

Gundren is held in Cragmaw Castle, the location of which is currently unknown.

Sorry to hear that Oberan. Safe travels on your business trips. Perhaps our paths will cross again.
It’s been a pleasure having you in the game. Best of luck to you, Oberan.

Jeb has grown attached to the former innkeep. I'll take him on if no one else wishes to.
