Lyre looks up at Maglath's and Jeb's words, knife in hand. He pockets the dagger before turning his head and quizzically looking at Maglath. "Can't do that," he says in Maglath's words, before begrudgingly looking at the body. "In front of other people."
He tentatively follows Jeb's words, but stops as he approaches the chest. He's adept at tying ropes, but says - "Some help..," upon which he turns his head, gestures to his under five-foot tall, thin self, and belts out in a loud, orc-tinged voice, "You're small, you can hide. Wait at the Heatherfell Inn and..." he trails off, going silent in a moment of self-reflection, the voice sparking a memory. "I won't...help...much," he replies in an amalgam of voices.
Jeb nods at Lyre, his intention of distracting him from his gruesome task achieved for the time being. Jeb secures the rope about the chest and gives the rope two gentle tugs to signal it is ready to be born aloft.

Carefully, Lyre opens the chest while the rest of the party watches with anticipation.
Glittering gold and jewels greet their eyes! Scattered coins silver, gold, and five exquisitely carved green gems are in the chest. Accompanying the treasure are two potion of healings, a leather scroll case, and a tattered book. But in the middle of it all, glowing in a faint blue, is a longsword in a silver-chased scabbard. The sword is inscribed with the name “Talon,” and its hilt is worked in the shape of a bird of prey with outspread wings. A masterfully crafted blade, the sword is a deadly beauty. Such a weapon has rarely been seen for a thousand years...
(History check to natives of Athetome who may recognize the sword.)
In the time that has passed since he set on his current path, Maglath has become semi-skilled at smith work and has mended and repaired his own armor and weapons. While far from a master his skills allow him to recognize the work of a master when he sees it. He may not be from this realm but he can still tell that sword is the work of a true artisan.
He runs his hand along the hilt.
”This sword must have made many an enemy fearful,” he says.
"Looks pretty impressive.", Arikon agreed. "I wonder why it's down here hidden in a chest?" The Sorcerer breathed a sigh of relief, the adrenaline from the last fight slowly ebbing away.
Lyre will tentatively snatch the gemstones from the chest. He feels the same allure to shiny bits and baubles as any other Kenku. He had no use for the sword; he questions if he could even lift the thing. Taking the potions of healing, he extends a mottled hand to those who he thinks got hurt most in the battle; Jeb and the barkeep.
"That creature must have found it somewhere," Maglath says. "Have any of you heard of Talon before? If there is a story, it did not make its way to the mountains."

Lyre picks up the five green gems. Examining them, he would recognize them to be malachite gems worth 15 gp each.
Murmen opens the scroll case and takes out a scroll. While he has not yet identified it, he would recognize holy symbols of Correllon engraved on the case itself. Maybe this is something he can use?

Maglath picks up the sword and straps it to his waist so they can examine it more carefully later.
“We should move. Someone may come looking for the Redbrand lookout.”
Seeing the body with the rope still tied to it and the anchoring rock hanging down into the crevasse, Maglath walks to the closest bridge. He thinks about walking on it but then decides to jump over just in case. He then walks to the body, drags it towards the bridge and tosses in down into the dark gully, under the bridge.
Anyone really looking will find her quickly but at least it might take time before anyone notices.
He looks at Lyre.
”We will talk later. When we have time.”
Then he thinks about Murmen’s question.
”The creature went to the hidden door. Safety for it was that way. That may be the bulk of the Redbrands. Do we deal with them now or try these other passages first?”
Lyre stares at the gems, barely hearing the other’s words, and pockets them. Turning to Maglath, he repeats, “We will talk later,” not quite knowing the reasons why. He’s rarely seen Maglath as stern as he is, and that usually meant Lyre had done something to upset him. He quietly follows the Goliath, reloading his crossbow and wiping off his daggers.
After the treasure is collected, the party returns to the hidden door the Nothic was scratching at. Maglath puts his ear to the door, listening for noises from the other side.

The room on the other side of the door seems quiet, but the noise of taunting voices echoes from a distant room.

The glowing chest is hoisted out of the crevasse, and now lies before the party. What could be inside?

Lyre will open the glowing chest from the side. He doesn’t trust glowing.
Murmen peers at whatever might be inside. If it's some sort of magical object, after all, he's well versed in those.
(If we wanted to take it with us, I could cast identify during our next rest.)

"Where to now?"

Jeb and John both drink the offered healing potions from Lyre to recover from their fall and necromaoc attacks respectively.
Jeb 5, John 6
Once they have recovered, Jeb suggests, "I say we see whence it goes. It may allow us to continue moving about undetected for a little longer."

Maglath nods at what Jeb has said. “It did not seem worried about a trap so it is probably safe.”
He listens at the hidden door for any sounds or voices from the other side.

He then tries opening the door.

Murmen steps up behind Maglath, ready to back him up.
