Before Jeb and Lyre come near, Lyre instructs Jeb in certain sounds that Maglath and himself used to inconspicuously communicate with. A Crow’s sound indicated safety; a Raven’s sound indicated danger; a Cricket’s chirping indicated for the two to attack someone they can see. Lyre will attempt to be as stealthy as possible while making his way around the perimeter of the building, taking in note of any people walking in or out of the area, and keeping an especially keen look out for any invisible tracks that may appear. He will also investigate the tracks.

Jeband Lyreare thorough in their search of the area, but their investigation doesn’t reveal anything wasn’t already obvious. The manor is quiet; no threats or enemies to be found. Examining the tracks, Lyrecan see that they were formed by hobnailed boots, and lots of them. People must have been walking around here a lot.
The tracks lead into the manor, into the ruin of a large kitchen. Through a window, Jebcan see that the floor is covered in shattered glass and old cutlery. In the middle lies an old moth-ridden carpet, which Lyrecan determine is the destination of all the boot prints. The disturbed dust around the carpet reveals it has been overturned and put back many times.
Barthen laughs in response to Arikon. "Yeah, say hello to Phandalin's new watch captain! But seriously, we can't have you leave. The Redbrands could attack at any moment."
Turning to Maglath, he says, "Didn't you say the hobgoblins weren't coming to this town, as they were building siege engines with bigger fish in mind? Surely they aren't as urgent of a threat as the Redbrands."
Then, Elsa interjects, "Hey, where's the rest of your group? Isn't the gambler and that bird person supposed to be following you guys around?"

Lyre begins to worry. No sign of activity here could mean an ambush being prepared elsewhere. He will motion to the carpet and to Jeb, silently asking if they should risk heading inside a potential door.

Barthen's laughter gets caught in his throat, his face paling as Maglathlooms over him. He fearfully nods and says, "Okay. I'll inform Daran about your plans."
He quickly makes his way past the party and towards the Town Hall.
In the background, Elsa smiles and chuckles. "Come on, you shouldn't have been so harsh. He meant no harm! Well, I'm glad you all are proactive in keeping our town safe."
To Arikon, she says, "It's getting pretty late in the afternoon. I'll be off to take my break now. I hope to see you later tonight!"
She waves goodbye and and heads off, dropping a coin at the Shrine of Norebo on the way.
The two rogues at the manor have found a position behind some rubble that provides a decent observation point. Jeband Lyre, please make Perception checks.

Due to the low afternoon sun, the mansion casts a long shadow down on the hill. The two rogues wait for a few minutes, watching the entrance. That's when something comes into view.
Though Lyredoesn't see her, Jeb does. Creeping slowly up the hill is a female figure, darting between trees and rocks, and sticking to the shadows. Jeb catches a flash of a blonde hair and a familiar white barmaid's dress. It appears Elsa has business in Tresendar Manor.
She's too far away to spot the two, yet. It will be about a minute before she arrives at the top of the hill. What do the rogues do in the meantime?
Meanwhile, Arikon, Maglath, and Murmen march down the road to the Triboar Trail. The woods surrounding the road are thick; it will be at least six minutes of walking if they wish to circle around to the sycamore tree. As they walk, what are each of them doing?

Jeb draws Lyre's attention to the barmaid, so that the kenku is aware of her approach. Jeb whispers to his stealthy comrade, "Do we intercept her to confront her or should we follow her to see where she leads us?" Jeb keeps his eyes on Elsa and the entrance as she continues her approach.
Jeb moves carefully to conceal their position from Elsa to catch her unawares should she reveal herself to be in league with the Redbrands. He has a specific red cloaked woman in his memory.
Maglath keeps walking. He knows it's fairly pointless for him to try and be quiet going through the woods. His armor makes noise and his shoulders brush into every branch they pass. Looking to the other two, he notices that Murmen is in the same situtation that he is. Both sets of armor clinking and while Maglath is hitting the high brushes, Murmen is breaking through the lower ones.
Instead, while he can not move quietly through the wilderness he can concentrate on guiding his fellow warriors safely through and will concentrate on scanning their path for sinkholes, pits, and general natural obstacles.
Elsa finally climbs to the top of the hill. Now that the she's closer, the rogues can see a look of grim determination on her face-an alien expression for the tittering barmaid. She glances around, but Jeband Lyreare well hidden.
The barmaid enters the mansion with Jeb and Lyretrailing behind her. She moves to the ruined kitchen and overturns the carpet, revealing a sturdy steel trapdoor. Elsa raps her knuckles on the trapdoor, and speaks in a commanding tone.
"Rook, it's Mags. Open up- I've got urgent info for Glasstaff. Those men we saw at the Town Square- they're up to something."
(Giving a moment for Arikonand Murmen.)

There were definitely a lot of eyes on them Arikon thought as they left the town. "I'll eat one of my shoes, if nobody tries to watch us.", Arikon said to the others when they were well away form somebody who could have benn listening in on them. "I have a strange feeling about this Elsa.", he added. "I'll probably need back-up, if I plan to meet her tonight."
When they finally turned around Arikon followed both of his companions watching for anything suspicious on the way. (Perception12)

Lyre begins to worry. No sign of activity here could mean an ambush being prepared elsewhere. He will motion to the carpet and to Jeb, silently asking if they should risk heading inside a potential door.
Maglath lets a small growl grow in his throat before cutting it off to speak.
"Why would hobgoblins be after fish?" he asks.
"It is better to be sure they have gone," he says to Barthen, stepping up close to the new watch captain.
"We are going and will return before any Redbrands come," he says as he towers over Barthen.

To Elsa he says, "I am not their Tent-Mother."
He continues walking across the square and heads up the road north from the village.

Murmen shrugs.
"I wouldna' worry about it too much, lad. We aren't goin' far."
