This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
TT has been watching the creature and it seem overly eager to get the staff, does it seem like just a collector or does it seem tot want to use thee staff for other reasons.
The creature looks at Wolfsong and Robwin with a heavily cocked head, then in your minds, "Young one? Do these bother you? Will you trade me the staff for some scrolls, potions and an old sword? I can learn from it. Make new scrolls. Do you like tricks? A blue moon egg, makes them easier? Do you like the dark? A violet one does the same?"
It appears, Rinn, you are the one who truly has its attention.
(( Yeah. The rolls are pretty rough. To be fair though, most of you are exhausted and you just squashed a very deadly encounter, but haven't really had the time to process it. ))
Rinn chuckles but shakes his head, "No, they don't bother me. We've been travelling together for a while now." He scratches his chin, as if deep in thought and considering much as he looks over the items. He looks at the others for a moment then says to the creature, "Talon looks pretty, and so do the potions. I would like those, but what scrolls do you have? You have so many to choose from, perhaps you could tell me what they do?"
The creature nods vigorously, "only three spell", many scrolls. Can teach other spells in trade ... this weirding, made myself", it holds one, "... you see small fate... ", grabbing another, "this one, spirits cold ... they come; they fight...", and it raises a third from another small pile, "this one, small chaos," it shrugs then laughs, "cold, fire, burn acid, never know, "
"Talon, one of each scroll, potions, one moon egg for staff; and meat; yes? You have things from wizard and reds; not mine. Anything you learn; I learn; yes?"
“More than fair! If the creature has lived under the cloud of the mage all this time he deserves the staff. Their offer is more than generous….”. Says Robwin.
Rinn nods. "You're more than generous, my friend. I'm happy to the terms. We'll keep you in mind, should we come across anything else that might be of interest to you, or just any rare meats for you." Rinn carefully picks up the staff with both hands and steps forward to offer it over to the creature.
The creature does a complete backwards flip and begins clapping than takes the staff and hand you the sword, three scrolls, two potions, and two moon eggs; one blue; one violet."When the secrets I know; Come again; Spend time; Learn;"
"Extra Egg; help friend; you see;"
"I put meat things, boots, daggers, here at column. Yes!, Yes!"
Rinn, TT, You're a little less bleary-eyed than you companions. The longsword is in a silver-chased (embossed) scabbard. The sword's hilt is worked in the shape of a bird of prey with outspread wings. You'll need some space, time and resst before inspecting the sword and other items clearly, but it is quite impressive.
Wolfsong releases the bugbear corpse to the creature then turn to the rest of the party, "It seems our business here is at an end, lets head back to the village, get some rest then we can ask the prisoners what is past that trapped hall, and if needed we can return."
Wolfsong then turns back to the creature, "We will be sure to return if we find something that could interest you."
Rinn nods to the creature, "My thanks, my new friend. Enjoy the peace and quiet of your home now that it is... vermin free," he gives a little chuckle. He looks at the sword with appreciation for the fine work before placing it away along with the other items, into whoever's packs will fit them. At talk of leaving and not looking further down the trapped hall, he looks longingly in its direction, "Such a pity to leave it untouched though."
Wolfsong gives a small chuckle at Rinn's disappointment about not checking the trapped hall, "Robwin and I are running on embers, and there may not even be anything past there worth taking. We have Glasstaff, we can ask him what is beyond and if its worth it come back to take it I promise."
Robwin agrees. “I want to properly look over the wizards things again, so I’ll head back this way tomorrow or sometime soon…. Maybe we bring a few hands or guards from the village to properly clear this place and we can do anything else we need to at the same time… For now though, I think I need to get some rest. I think we can leave our new friend to watch over the place until then”.
The sun is rising as you wander out of the mansion following the route TT took in. Midway to Phandalin, a contingent from the Miner's Exchange catches up with you. All are relieved to find you. Some look a little disappointed; maybe expecting a bit of a skirmish. They were sent by "the boss", Halia Thornton, and "her lady fellow", Jubilance T Endure, says a large fellow who looks and sounds like he's a cross between a Orc and a Goliath or an ogre. You're too tired to focus on it now. He does give you good news. A bath and room are waiting for you at the Stonehill Inn.
You managed to get the basics of your encounter and deal across to the fellow before making your way to the Inn.
You are clean and well rested.
It is late afternoon the following day.
Elsa and Mrs. Stonehill have informed you, their will be a meeting and evening meal at the Orchard and you're all asked to attend. Elsa is far more social and familiar with you than Mrs. Stonehill.
What are you doing before the meeting?

(These rolls are on fire!!!)

Rinn deliberates silently for a moment, turning to his friends with a silent "Well?" query.
Wolfsong gives Rinn a nod, "Its a fair deal that will put us in the good graces of this thing, so I say go for it."
“More than fair! If the creature has lived under the cloud of the mage all this time he deserves the staff. Their offer is more than generous….”. Says Robwin.

It begins repacking the wardrobe.

TT is standing off the group just a little ways, a little weary of the creature.
"Not a minute too soon, that thing gives me the creeps" TT will happily follow her friends out of the cave and back to town
