(( Current scenario: It is midmorning. You are thirty feet northeast of the overturned wagon which is partially covering the broken door. As a result there is only a five feet opening between the ruins where you are and the canyon exiting this excavation. You are in the ruins excavation already cleared by the dwarfs' initial work in a ten foot wide street.
You heard Eline introduce herself and call the male Norm. Norm is currently patching up Eline and himself.
The halfling with the shortbow eases itself down to the group, "I'm Tomi, if there are to be introduction."
Ironrune takes a swig from the Waterskin and hands it to Grayshard. "Thank you", Ironrune says.
There are bodies dead and bleeding.
There is the manticore one hundred twenty feet west and eighty feet up on the top of the north canyon wall.
Wolfsong joins in on Rinn's laugh, "Let the beast eat, the hunt will be all that more satisfying once its finished."
Wolfsong turns his attention to the manticore then shouts, "Unless the beast is too frightened to face us! Just a cowardly kitten with the wings of a chicken!"
After that Wolfsong busies himself collected a tusk from each of the orcs he killed while also relieving the bodies of anything useful before finally stacking them into a pile for a funeral pyre later.
Robwin looks up to where the manticore eats, and gingerly sidles across to Wolfsong…
He speaks quietly so only the party and those on the ground can hear, ”Is this the very same manticore you’ve been hunting? Do you want it dead? Or for it to be captured alive??…”.
He also asks everyonein the ravine, “Is everyone ready to fight, if it comes to that? Or do we rest here for a moment, while it eats?…”.
Rinn, torn between searching the bodies for any trinkets and watching the manticore to get the first shot in should it attack, stays put and laughs as Wolfsong calls out to it. "Not rightly sure if it's one and the same," he replies to Robwin, "But considering the scuttle around abouts, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the one we saw once before." With all the talk of rest, Rinn stretches openly, a satisfyingly big stretch, "Nope, I'm good to keep going." He laughs once more, then adds, "But I'll keep watch if you all need to relax for a bit and tend to wounds and the like."
"Aye, not sure if its the same one or not," Wolfsong answers lifting a body into a fireman's carry. "Never laid eyes on the beast myself until now, just heard about it from the victims of the farms it attack. From what I can tell that is the beast I have been hunting, as to whether I want to kill or capture it...well."
Wolfsong drops the body into the pile then looks towards the manticore, "I want to test myself against the beast, see which of us the Wilds truly bless, I would be fine ending the beast and wearing its pelt as a cloak, but those back at the village want it captured to hopefully turn it into a guard animal. How this ends will be up to the beast in the end."
You find, Wolfsong, only half of the fallen have tusks worth taking. Many of these Darkatan are young, likely not yet blooded warriors. Among the dead you find a mix of rudimentary but effective stone tomahawk and long iron machete. Both style weapon have tightly wrapped leather grips. Its about three to one in the tomahawk's favor. There are a handful of nearly empty waterskins and a six of the larger males and females have trophy necklaces much like yours. Ornaments consist of three stone and leather bracelets and four pair of bone stud ear-rings of different designs.
Once Norman and Eline are patched up, they start helping Wolfsong move the bodies while Tomi joints Rinn in keeping a watch.
"Is this normal out here? Manti-what-now things... really big lion, right?"
"I don't know Manticore stories. I know Lion stories."
"And what, the dwarf ... dwarf fellow said; Orcs? I know half-orc. Heard of an seen them before. Most of these are much bigger than the one I saw."
"And just wow with that bow and the shots."
Norman slips causing Eline and himself to drop the corpse they are moving. At the sudden sounds behind Rinn and Tomi, Tomi jumps dropping their shortbow. They looked at the scene, trun back quickly, and retrieve their bow.
You can see they look more nervous and sickly than they did a moment ago.
Rinn shrugs, "We've seen a right many things about lately. Manticores, orcs, and even a dragon!" Rinn doesn't turn back as Norman slips, instead maintaining his watch of the manticore and the surrounds, but says back over his shoulder, "Everything alright back there?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Robwin moves over to the commotion about dropping the bow and the body. “Is everyone okay? Here let me help with that…”.
Robwin notices they look a little more nervous and sickly than they did before. He looks them over to see if they are well. “Are you well?”, he’ll ask.
Robwin, you're not sure what's wrong with this little person as you pick up their shortbow. At Norman's response, though, they turn aside from you and Rinn vomiting and heaving.
(( With a hundred years of family, courtesy and academic experience and a 3 in medicine check, what does Robwin think is going on with Tomi as they are now dry heaving next to him? ))
(( Yeah, TT, it's easy for you to put the pieces together. This young woman, halfling, is a bit dehydrated, in a mild shock and clearly exhausted. Having a clear understanding of the physical and medical issues, you can easily understand that Tomi is extremely inexperienced. ))
"Here, Tomi is it, take a few drinks from here" as TT offers her water skein. "It can be a bit much, all the fighting and then dealing with this. It can really take it out of a person. It's not easy to come into a life like this. I remember the first few times I had to attend to the dying, seeing them go was a bit of a shock to the system, much less it being by my hand." She offers the girl another drink "Just take it slow and easy things will get better."
Nodding to TT, Tomi does as instructed while kicking dirt over the sick.
"Yeah, T'ank Ya. Ya 'eard Norman, right? Was a simple delivery. Lot a gear an supplies. Just show of force an maintenance. 'ave da shortbow, short sword an' dagger. 'ad ta fire a warning shot at a group of marauder a couple days out of the city. Never 'eard of a raid dis big."
Tomi nods again, "I'm... I'll manage, right? I'll 'elp keep an eye out for that robes an 'at fellow digging round."
While TT is dealing with Tomi, Rinn is watching the manticore watch the party, Wolfsong, Norman and Eline are moving the dead, and Ironrune and Grayshard are communicating quietly.
Robwin you see Grayshard is making some form of hand signs and Ironrune is responding in Dwarven.
Looking about the wagon, you see tossed about partially eaten roots, coal strewn about, apparently dumped from sacks, there are supplies and equipment once tied down or lashed in. Some of it looks like it is in tact. The body of the driver is wedged under the wagon, crushed against the stone door that you saw laying here just the night before. You can see a couple spear and three medium size Daraktan were also crushed. There is a cash box slid down the slightly slanted stone door. It must have been secured under the driver's seat. It looks like the band grabbed food, blankets and the like, leaving anything tied down, heavy, or unrelated to daily sustenance.
You find an inventory, a writ of contract in common addressing Grayshard and a few sealed writs from the temple earlier this morning, you're certain they're addressed in Dwarven."

TT will be following along with Wolfsong giving prayers to the dead, glancing periodically up at the manticore. "A rest may be helpful."

”Oh, that’s not good… Uh, TT, could you take a look at this one?!”. Robwin steps back from any potential vomiting, and waves TT over, if she’s free...
He looks around for any potentially hazardous cause of the sickness in the immediate vicinity.
