Robwin sees the distance, and calculates that all in his head, “Rrrrrr!….”. A frustration seldom seen from Robwin. His arms buzz with arcane power… and he casts… and flies, like a rocket, from one mezzanine to the other ((casting fly for the first time…))…
Under his breath Robwin mutters, “Hmm… if you want something done!!… WOLFSONG! On…. One, two, three!……”, and grabs the winch ready to turn it next round…
Putting his weight behind him as he tries to activate the winch Wolfsong's hands slip off the device due to the blood and ichore of the spiders still on his hands. As he goes to wipe his hands on his sides Wolfsong wrinkles his nose as the assault on his senses turning to the direction of the source, seeing the others effected by the scent Wolfsong shakes his head trying to push though the rancid odor.
"Aye," Wolfsong shouts in answer to Robwin's call before drawing forth the power of the Wilds boiling within him and ignites his anger once more causing his hands to transform into claws. With boost of strength from his rage Wolfsong once more tries to activate the winch trying to time it with Robwin.
((Are the ghouls heading for the main gate? Can anyone see them? How many are there? How far away from the main gate and from our allies are they? Thanks
And sorry where are we all in initiative again and who’s next. Thanks.))
((As soon as the portcullis is up enough for people to get through, Robwin would leave it on the ratchet (so it doesn’t lower again), and fly to the main gate from the inside to get to the allies before anything else does)).
(( Again, a round is mostly all happening at once, initiative just places what append "first", "before", or "after" something else. Rinn's constitution check and result will blend ahead of us. Still...
Wolfsong and Robwin are easily able to keep the portcullis rising once started.
Robwin - correct me if I'm wrong - figures the grate is "high enough", throws the block to be sure the winch doesn't fall down again and begins making his way down the steps from the mezzanine to the main floor to try and get to the entry before more goes wrong... IS HE RUSHING or cautious?
Even with Robwin stopping his efforts midway, Wolfsong hardly notices, finishing the raising of the portcullis before dropping the block in place.
Yep, as soon as the portcullis is up enough for people to get through, Robwin would leave it on the ratchet/block (so it doesn’t lower again).
And he will FLY (fly speed 60ft) to the main gate to get to the allies before anything else does.
He’ll take the shortest route and fly over anything or anyone in his way, trying to stay out of reach of any opportunity attacks (if possible).
If needed he’ll use the dash action to fly 120ft. But if that’s not necessary, he’ll see what’s what when her gets there and potentially have an action to use.
He’s not trying to be stealthy. But he’s also not making unnecessary noise. Flying maybe isn’t super noisy or anything. But he’s not trying to hide at all, just get there.
He wants to get to the allies if possible and get between them and their nearest danger, if any.
(( @Grwobert - Robwin’s action this turn was successfully getting the portcullis up w/ Wolfsong and his movement with fly 60 ft. w/ the ceiling twenty feet high, it's easy enough for him to stay out of melee. I don't think Robwin has a bonus action dash. He is about twenty feet from the entrance itself at the end of this turn. You get down thestairs - 20 ft - follow the wall south - 20 ft - turn corner and head north toward the portcullis - 20 ft ))
(( @LostLeonin - Wolfsong has the portcullis up. Is he also rushing down the mezzanine staircase to get to the entrance hall? If not, is he moving? ))
(( @SpieltJoos - Rinn's in a predicament, overwhelmed by the grotesque sick coming from the downed strange variet of ghoul. We need a constitution saving through DC 13 to overcome the incapacitating effects. ))
(( @AndrewFairall - TT has her full movement and action unspent this turn. ))

@Grwobert Roll a d20 DC 5 if something is there in the dark to welcome Robwin ...

Wolfsong and Robwin feel the portcullis start to give way as the chains and mechanisms begin to loudly pull the gate up.
You hear shouts in Common, Elven and Dwarven, "The gates opening!", "Get torches!", "Brake down those chains!", "Be ready!"
A few Ghouls wail.
They all start rushing down.
The largely silent experience within the kerp is suddenly broken by sound from inside and out.

Initiative order:
- Fire spread & damage at top of round (inflicted at the start of a turn)
Rinn: 24; Wolfsong: 22; Spiders: 22; Cleaver: 21; Robwin: 20; Eline: 17; TT: 14; Ghouls: 10
Wolfsong and Robwin are lifting the gate. Roll Stealth checks
Rinn and Eline are suffering from direct exposure to the gravid ghoul. Roll constitution saving throws
TT is dealing with Cleaver who is standing by for direction from Wolfsong.
The spiders are trying to escape the flames, the Ghouls are charging toward or rallying at the portcullis.
No one in the party currently has sight on the Ghouls, spiders, exterior or gated opening.
TT had a bead on twenty Ghouls at one point. I think you all have seen at least a dozen spiders and a dozen Ghouls.
I don't think any of you have a current count.
Eline constitution 13
Eline manages to get her composure enough to try to function. ((Disadvantage on saving throws and attacks for the next minute.))
((Saving her movement to follow, help or guard Rinn))
((As soon as the portcullis is up enough for people to get through, Robwin would leave it on the ratchet (so it doesn’t lower again), and fly to the main gate from the inside to get to the allies before anything else does)).
