During Rinn's last visit, his party chased an owlbear out a north "hidden" entrance. This time the northern wall is repaired with a doored and guarded entrance.
During Rinn's last visit, the halls were mostly dark with a few torches here and there. Now the halls are lit with regular interval oil lamps.
The ceilings are 15 feet (6.4 m) high in most places.
The interior doors are made of wood reinforced with iron bands. They have neither locks nor keyholes.
The floors are a mix of dirt floor, cracked and uneven flagstone floor, and clean even flagstone.
The exterior walls and load-bearing interior walls are 5 feet thick, with 3 feet of mortared fill sandwiched between 1-foot-thick courses of hard stone blocks. Interior walls are 1-foot-thick worked stone.
Arrow slits in the castle walls are 10 feet above the outside ground level, 4 feet above the interior floor level, 8 inches wide, and 4 feet high.
Immediately through the north entrance is a large circular greeting area with furniture situated around the walls. This was used for storage during Rinn's last visit.
When the dwarfs and Jasmine, rather anxiously warn the hobgoblin of the ankheg threat, nearby goblins say, "No threat. Have pets. Eat Ankheg." And begins cackling as the hobgoblin waves them off. The goblins leave the chamber through a door in the west.
Rinn's last visit that entire west and southwest wall was collapsed and the southern door was just a curtain.
“Totally awesome. What pet eats ankheg, dude? Is it furry?”
Silenus looks around the chamber they find themselves in. If the hobgoblins are leading them on he will follow. If they’ve just left the group there, Silenus will go open the southern door.
"Finally, this must be the king dude's spot," Silenus says, then notices that it's also a dining hall. "Totally awesome. King dude can listen to the people and eat at the same time."
"King Grol will be here soon. And food. Have guests too.", the hobgoblin states.
"Here! Hobdingu! Get guests drink!" At his command a goblin about four feet tall, lanky, in a long tunic, comes forward. They appear clean though scattered across their face, hands, and feet are odd shapped moles and liverspots. They attend to your party.
"You want wine?"
"You want whiskey?"
"Here wash towel.", rolled damp hot towels in a wicker basket that smell of lavender and witch-hazel are placed on the table between your group.
"Screw it.", the talkative dwarf says, "I will take a pint of whatever strong you have."
"Whiskey.", the other dwarf says.
"Wine for each of us.", Jasmine says indicating Olsihla and herself.
The dwarfs take a seat while Olsihla and Jasmine stand. There is plenty of room for either.
When everyone has a drink, the talkative dwarf says, "Nam's Startun. He's Kurrid. You asked 'bout the Orc. I never seen one change before, but that group, three of 'em, turned into huge boars." Kurrid nods in affirmation.
Over the course of an hour, others come in getting drinks and seats, mostly goblinkin, but a daraktan, a tiefling, and a human as well.
Hobdingu and others are coming and going from the kitchen bringing drinks, setups, hors d'oeuvres, and place settings.
It is a strange mix of formality, chaos, joviality, trepidation, anxiety, and excitement.
Ghukliak is the most frequent language heard followed by "common". The dwarfs frequently murmur in their own tounge while Jasmine and Olsihla do the same in Sylvan.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Silenus says yes to both wine and whiskey and whatever else is offered by their hosts. He doesn't turn down a drink or food, thoroughly enjoying the hospitality after the night on the rocky plateau.
He breaks out his Shepherd's Pipes and plays along with the chaos (Performance: 22 )
Silenus does quiz the dwarves about the cousin who might know a Rockseeker.
"Are there a lot of Rockseeker's around? We heard they might know where this echoing wave cave is."
"We know Rockseeker. Well, Gundren anyway. Met him here actually. Rinn! How are you doing?!", interrupts the rather rambunctious female human.
She has long red hair that is braided back. She has a striking, athletic form and features. She is wearing a choker around her neck from which hangs the holy symbol of Valkur, identifying her as a Cleric of the Captain of the Waves, a deity oriented with sailors and the sea, a dark buckskin tunic with matching pants and thigh high black boots with bronze accents and blue overlay near her feet.
She has leather guards over her elbows and wrists.
She has a shield bearing the holy symbol of Valkur, a cloud with three lightning bolts. She carries a war-hammer on her left hip, a dagger situated near it, a leather day pack on her right hanging in a cross shoulder style.
Rinn will give a little smirk when called the hobgoblin's hero, but will neither confirm nor deny such a story.
Rinn takes in the sights of the castle, recalling bits and pieces from what feels like an age ago that he was here last infiltrating the castle. Tired from the travels of the day though, he will casually nod or smile in welcome as he tries to remember who's who and those that address him directly.
"Uh, I'm good. It's been quite a while since I was last here and there has definitely been some changes made." He chuckles and smiles at the cleric.
"We only just arrived last night. Needed some information on some goblin clan acting out of line from the giant toe mountain base.", says the Tiefling.
They are a tall (6'4") individual with deep indigo or dark violet skin tone, large black horns sweep back across each side of their head then curl down and around theit sharply pointed ears like a great mountain ram. They have twin irises of light amethyst and deep purple, slightly darker than the amethyst but lighter than their skin, ringing large black slit pupils behind think soft looking eye lashes. They have a light smile showing off a hint of sharp predator teeth. They're wearing an off white sleeveless blouse covering a large bosom. Their exposed arms neck and face and the way they carry themselves speaks to an unquestionably athletic physique. They're wearing dark leather trousers, fingerless leather gloves, a shortsowrd on their hip that seems a dagger in comparison to their person.
((He floats between the two - and will repeat anything for the benefit of the dwarves))
Hearing Silenus' explanation, the others look between the hobgoblin and Rinn with rampant interest.
If Rinn and Silenus do not interject, the hobgoblin will escort the party into the castle grounds.
(( Place to care for the mule, horse, and cart. There are areas outside the castle to camp and areas inside the castle to bed down. ))
The castle itself is primarily a single floor with multiple other floors collapsed down upon it.
There are areas where remnants of an upper floor or floors exist and have been propped up or refurbished.
The entire area seems to be in the midst of a slow redevelopment process.
Silenus happily follows the hobgoblins inside.
"I've never been in a hobgoblin castle before," he says as he looks around. "Gnarly."
He looks around for the king they mentioned.
"King dude is bound to have heard of this wave cave."

"Not furry. Live in rubble. Crawl through Ankheg tunnels, eat eggs, larva, and adult. Lhupo call them grick."
The hobgoblin does lead the party through the south door.
Through another hall, another south door, then a door in the west wall into a dinning hall.
The dinning hall is large, cleanly swept, and contains a large wooden carved thrown.
Silenus smiles at the sight of the throne.
"Finally, this must be the king dude's spot," Silenus says, then notices that it's also a dining hall. "Totally awesome. King dude can listen to the people and eat at the same time."
He looks over at their guides.
"Is the royal, er, royalness around?"
"King Grol will be here soon. And food. Have guests too.", the hobgoblin states.

"Could be. Don't know.", Startun replies.

"Introductions, children, really.", the Tiefling laughs.
"I am Endure. This is Blaire.", Endure makes Introductions.
At 5'4" Blaire seems comfortably shadowed by her companion.
Blaire nods, "Who are your friends, Rinn?", looking for anyone to make Introductions.
