You notice more training, blood and cloth, as you slowly make your way to the entrance. You can see from the mouth of the cavern that it continues inward a ways then slopes down out of your vew.
Seeing the cavern, Robwin simply reassures Wolfsong, “This is your hunt… I follow you, my friend… and I will take my cues from you also…”. He stands at Wolfsong’s shoulder, just slightly behind, pulls his wizard’s had down firm on his head, and produces his blue moon egg (his casting focus) in his off-hand once again… ready.
Rinn gestures in the air as he turns to the others, "How about a little thunder to help cover our movement down into the dark?" And with that a large crack of thunder sounds just above our heads as Rinn casts a minor illusion to offer some assistance to the less sneaky members of the group. He then gestures for everyone to move forward as he sneaks ahead, grinning at Wolfsong as he moves into the darkness, keeping an eye out for any signs of the creature (Stealth: 12; Perception: 9).
Robwin’s grin goes wide and his eyes light up at his high elven brother. He nods, and adds a little ‘white noise’ from the pitter-patter of raindrops, with his own minor illusion. Maybe the odd light whistle of wind too. And he creeps after Rinn.
He also asks Lia to keep a look out from his shoulder ((passive perception 18)).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wolfsong nods in approval as Rinn then Robwin casts their spells then turns to TT and Eline, "Keep back a bit if you need to cast your light we do not want to spook the beasts too early, but when you hear us in combat you rush in, got it?"
"The hunt is on," Wolfsong takes a deep slow breath before creeping into the cave keeping to the opposite wall Rinn and Robwin are on.

Following the teams direction Eline nods. (( If TT casts light, she'll prepare her battle axe otherwise one of her hand axe and a torch )) (( Stealth: 20 Perception: 20 ))
TT will move to the back of the group and cast light on a fist sized stone she found, covering it with a bit of her robe to diffuse the light so it doesn't radiate so far. and will follow everyone.
As you make your way into the cave and down into the cavern, you find a large drop into a deep chasm, Rinn, Robwin and Wolfsong can see at the edge of your vision the other side where the manticore are stripping flesh from one of the bodies and feeding it to small cubs. Rinn and Robwin are aware that their illusion has paid off. The moisture from the chasm between the exterior and the beasts' nest has prevented the lack of moisture accompanying the sounds of a light storm from drawing any attention.
Robwin is taking his cues from Wolfsong from the opposite wall of the cave. If Wolfsong continues or stops, so does Robwin: learning from the master-huntsman, just like he would have done with his professors at college, although learning some very different lessons here, out in the real world.
He’ll subtly keep up the rain noises, to cover their approach, if it still seems appropriate this far into the cave. Maybe sounding a little more distant or muffled as they continue to approach.
Robwin also notices the cubs, and watches as the parents take care of their young.
Robwin casts message, silently, over to Wolfsong, <From you’re experience… can these creatures be bargained with? … And what do we do with the cubs?…>.
Seeing the two beasts Wolfsong smiles in anticipation of testing his strength but hearing Robwin's voice breaks him from his thoughts. Bringing himself back to the moment Wolfsong lets out a small sigh before whispering a response, "From what I hear the beasts can be spoken to, truth be told Endure and Ms. Thornton wish to bargain with it to have it defend the village...Tell me can you use this spell to speak with the beasts?"
Robwinmessages back to Wolfsong, <Yes, I can cast this towards the creatures. If we have a shared language, we can understand one another. I can try the common tongue. What should I say?!… We want to hire them?!…>.
Rinn, kneeling next to Wolfsong, hears him whispering his response to Robwin. "Talk to them?" He gives Wolfsong a quizzical look, especially seeing as he was so keen for the hunt. "Cover me and maybe find yourselves a good hiding spot." He gives a massive grin, then sneaks off a little ways around the cavern.
Happy that he's gotten a bit of space from the others and given them some time to hide, he stands up and calls out. "Well hello there, my wonderfully boisterous hosts! My apologies for the intrusion, but I simply wished to seek some shelter from the storm outside." He gives a flourished bow, hands out to show no weapons in his hands, then stands back up and brushes off his clothes in a grand show. He then takes a look around, "Quite a cozy little cave you have here. Though I imagine you'd be much more amenable to a more comfortable abode?"
((Oh wow! Grwobert LOVES this!!.. Robwin, is a little nervous for Rinn, for sure, Lol. But this is awesome!)).
Robwin is busy considering options, and how they could approach the situation, when Rinn steps out!
His hand moves an inch or so forward and he takes a breath in, involuntarily, as if he might call out to his friend or reach out to stop him… but he manages to compose himself in time, before he makes a scene, and stands waiting for it all to play out!
Actually Robwin has a small smile on his face as he watches on, and maybe he looks a little proud of Rinn.
Even so, Robwin is ready for anything, he leaves his hand slightly out, fingers poised, ready to cast a spell if he’s needed. But for now he just smiles in the darkness, his eyes sparkle a little with excitement, and he waits…
Wolfsong digs his hand into the wall of the cave doing his best to hold himself back from rushing the beasts, "Yes talk, I would much prefer to test my strength against them, but there are other plans in play."
When he sees Rinn walk out and call out to the manticores Wolfsong just face palms slowly dragging his hand down his face while grumbling, "By the Wilds."
((( Ha! Ha! Ha! I am excited to see Rinn's Charisma roll. I feel a little sorry for Wolfsong. Yet, I cannot stop laughing. TT and Eline have no idea what is going on. They were staying back and stopped when the other stopped. Then they hear Rinn's boisterous greeting. Ha! Ha! Ha!
I know technically the magic of message prevents anyone else from hearing the reply. I hope everyone is cool with Rinn's mystical mayhem even if it leads to a brutal death. Ha! Ha! Ha! )))
((I think ‘overhearing’ in this instance is fine. I was about to say in-game that Robwin had repeated everything to everyone through message but didn’t get round to it and it seemed a little cumbersome. This is a better solution to that I think.
Have to say, too, that I’ve been LOVING the shenanigans of the team recently! Robwin getting dragged off by a Jelly, now this. :-) Great RP everyone!))
Seeing the cave Wolfsong gives a thoughtful hum, "Looks like a good lair for the beast. Lets check it out, but be careful."
Wolfsong cautiously advances towards the cave keeping his eyes out for sighs of the manticore around it.

Rinn nods, then carefully and slowly travels along the path towards the cave, keeping an eye out for danger as he moves (Stealth: 13; Perception: 12).
