A young elf walks into the tavern, flipping a coin and catching it mid-flight before stopping and looking around the room. He pockets the coin, smiles and makes his way over to the bar, "Hey there Tolby. Anythin' new today?" He looks down the bar to see the others, "New to town? 'Bout time someone new showed up. Been keen to go adventurin' and there's a jobs to be done, but no one in this town is interested."
"Ay, Rinn, Ya'know most folks here 'ave a lot to carry on day to day. Da old fellow is going on again but all the treasure out on the coast account of the old lighthouse. You crash'n wid the miner's again? wad'a'ya'ave?" Mr. Stonehill responds in a casual manner.
Rinn chuckles, "The old lighthouse huh? I'll add it to the list of things to do." Rinn then turns to the man in plain clothes and replies, "Haha. I know a little. Been here a couple of days now. Pokin' my nose around the town. You and the others there," Rinn points to the others down the bar, "You're the first sign of anyone that looks remotely interested in adventure. Rinn's the name."
"And my name is Eli. It is good to meet all of you. Tell me Rinn my friend Blaire and I were going to look for a job board in the morning. Is there one here?"
Varius: "Ale or Beer 's a silver a mug." responds the middle age human male tending the bar.
Ikki: "You're one of the birdfolk if ever! I'm Seara. What can I get for ya?"

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ikki clicks his beak at the waitress twice. "Birdfolk," he repeats. "Yes. *click* I am Ikki ... Seara." His shoulder and neck feathers ruffle slightly. "Something to drink?" he asks, his head twisting to look at the young woman with his left red-brown eye. When she tells him they serve a local beer and an ale from Neverwinter, the aarakocra repeats carefully, "Neverwinter," and clicks his beak four times. If she pauses, he gives her a quick nod of the head to assure her of his answer.
After Seara leaves his table, Ikki looks around the room, taking in the many eyes blatantly staring or chancing furtive glances. His beak occasionally clicks in response. And again, his neck and shoulder feathers ruffle once. He reaches a hand down to a small money pouch on his side as Seara returns to the table. "How much? *click*"
Ikki: Seara returns to you with an Ale, "It'll be a silver a mug, dear. Don't mind the stares. You're quite a sight. Is there anything else you'd want for now?"
Ikki carefully counts out 10 copper pieces, stacking them on the table. After Seara scoops up the coins and walks away, Ikki picks up his mug and peers at it with his left eye. He then sniffs at it. Finally, his very red tongue snakes out of his beak and dips into the liquid briefly. His eyes blink and his beak clicks in response. Bending over the mug, Ikki attempts to lower his beak into the liquid, but the diameter of the mug blocks his efforts. He tries a few times, a distracting *clink clink clink* drawing even more eyes as the bird man appears to be pecking at his drink. He finally just puts his beak as far in as possible and uses his tongue to try to ingest the beverage.
"Well Eli, the town master has a board outside his hall in the middle of the village. There's a couple of jobs up, but I've not seen anyone to do them with." Rinn spins a bread knife on the bar as he turns in his stool to look around the room a little as the noise dies down.
Eli replies to Rinn: "Well it seems we have the makings of an adventuring party here. What say we check the board in the morning as some of us are pretty deep in our cups. Also, there is no need to tramps around land we don't know in the dark. I have already acquired 1 room for the night and would be willing to share if someone needs a space."

Hopefully we get paid for doing those jobs, I’m low on coin
((Just as a brief update, the various home repairs are ongoing which has been extremely hectic, took time away from work and now I am playing catch up on work things while the home remains a construction zone. Still not sure on my ETA of when I'll have time to return to regular posting, but the game is not forgotten, just extremely busy and stressed at the moment. Again, apologies. I don't want to slow progress of the game for everyone involved, so feel free to do whatever is needed for the story - bot my character, create a scenario where they are pulled away temporarily, whatever you feel is best to progress the game. I am hopeful all this will pass and things will return to normal.))

The bird man blinks at the dim light within the Inn and finally settles into a chair.
“I’m Varius, nice to meet you Rinn”
Varius turns around a bit and holds out his hand to be shaken

Varius: the bar keep serves up a mug of Ale for you.

“You know, I’m in the mood for an adventure, if you don’t mind I would like to join you”
Eli replies to Rinn: "Well it seems we have the makings of an adventuring party here. What say we check the board in the morning as some of us are pretty deep in our cups. “I can get my own room but thanks, besides I snore like a dragon” Varius responds to Eli’s kind request
Hopefully we get paid for doing those jobs, I’m low on coin
Eli will reply: "Hopefully we will discover the jobs and payment on the board tomorrow morning."
